PlayStation All-Stars: Battle Royale Review

Posted by The Dace Man - Thursday, November 29, 2012

Hey there boys and girls. Since Burhan is off prancing around in Scotland, it's yours truly Chris "The Dace Man" Dace coming at you with a game review. Hash-tag O.M.G. Not that big of a deal got some free time in the Hotel in Toronto bitches. Any way time to quickly break down the latest edition to Playstations Greatest hits...literally...anybody else start singing Degeneration X's theme song when I said break it down...no...ok...moving on. Today we're gonna look at the highly anticipated rip off of Super Smash Bros. PlayStation's PlayStation All Stars Battle Royale!!! So here we take the best characters from all the games, that of course were not sold to Nintendo for the superior brawling game.

So Lets start with the positives. Kratos, Cole McGrath, SweetTooth  and Heihachi all in one game....fuck yeah. It has a similar feel to Smash Bros. but at the same time has its own feel to it. With all boards being very interactive and tacking you down memory lane the fun times roll along. One feature I enjoy about this game which has been featured in previous Playstation titles such as Tekken 2 & 3, and Twisted Metal 2  is a Arcade Story mode for each character. I missed that and am so glad this title brought it back for each of their characters, might not be elaborate but I enjoyed. This is clearly a party game so get drunk and this game is a 10 outta 10. Now on to the downsides.

The biggest party foul of this party game is this....Where the hell is Crash Bandicoot and Spyro. Two of the most recognized alumni are noticeably missing...Whoaaaaaaa! Like seriously Spyro I can understand since his rights are probably floating around some where out there but Crash come on guys....Another character missing is Solid Snake smooth move selling him to Nintendo and now we have Raiden from Metal Gear. I like Raiden but Snake was a key PS guy and he was left off the list and it just feels weird to me. And the biggest and most important let down...you can't unlock any other characters. Seriously dudes...and chicks...that is the coolest part of Smash Bros. you can unlock new characters and its like a hidden treat. Major let down on this game when it comes to roster limited.

Overall I say pick it up if you wanna smash and bash until the next Smash Bros. If there are no characters that tickle you Fancy I'd stay away until the price goes down or Playstation hopefully announces some DLC. As always check back regularly to see what  Chris "The Dace Man" Dace is looking at, and no not just porn, as well as all other bloggers here at Fanboys Anonymous. So for The Few, The Proud, and of course The Dacetacular, grab a beer, or in this Sony Stock, and check out what's going on here in the Dace-Sphere. See ya next time.

Person of Interest is Like Batman - Comparisons

Posted by Anthony Mango - Monday, November 26, 2012

I've been a fan of the television show Person of Interest since it's inception and it didn't take me long to figure out why. Person of Interest draws many comparisons to the Batman character - some obvious, some a little more subtle. For those unaware, Person of Interest was created by Jonathan Nolan, who helped write The Dark Knight and The Dark Knight Rises with his brother, director Christopher Nolan. When you start looking at the show with that in mind, it's easy to pinpoint elements that are inspired by the Batman series. Here's a list of some ways Batman and Person of Interest crossover from what I've been able to notice.

Download Person of Interest Episodes Online Free Stream

WARNING: SPOILERS BELOW OF BOTH PERSON OF INTEREST AND BATMAN

1. John Reese is Batman

The protagonist of Person of Interest is a mysterious ex-CIA agent who goes by the name of John Reese, though it's been established that this is an alias. He acts as a vigilante known by most people as merely "The Man in the Suit". This is his codename ala "The Batman". Jim Caviezel talks in a low, gravelly voice which calls back to the Christian Bale Batman voice. Needless to say, Reese is a very skilled fighter, just like Batman. He also seems to have a similar "no killing" policy, but he's of course much more relaxed with that, using guns in every episode and not hesitating to shoot someone in the kneecap at a moment's notice. John and Bruce Wayne both operate in big cities. They have very few trusted allies and they have even less stable romantic relationships. Which leads us to another character...

2. Zoe Morgan is Catwoman

Paige Turco plays one of the only recurring characters on the show named Zoe Morgan. She's the most well established as of season 2 in terms of romantic pursuits for John Reese. The comparison between Zoe Morgan to John Reese and Catwoman to Batman is that they're beautiful, strong-willed, smart women that are a bit on the dirty side of good. Catwoman's a thief while Zoe Morgan is no stranger to dealing with the criminal underworld as a "fixer". Both Selina Kyle and Zoe represent that tough woman that can handle herself and put up a fight against Bruce/John and the chemistry is undeniable.

3. The Dog - Bear is Ace the Bat Hound

Batman has a pet dog named Ace the Bat-Hound. In season 2, John and Harold adopt a dog named Bear (formerly Butcher). Both pets are the stereotypical watchdogs that are totally devoted to their masters and will tear your limbs off if you're one of the villains.

4. Joss Carter and Lionel Fusco of the Gotham City Police Department

The two primary NYPD officers of the show seem to represent the GCPD in some ways. Lionel Fusco is a big, burly, stubborn, rude, formerly villainous cop that likes to argue with Reese. Essentialy, Lionel Fusco is Harvey Bullock.

Batman Fancast Harvey Bullock Kevin Chapman Fusco from Person of Interest
Kevin Chapman as Harvey Bullock - perfect fan cast?

Fans of the Batman: The Animated Series show are used to the idea that Harvey Bullock's partner on the force is Renee Montoya, a tough Hispanic lesbian woman. Fusco's partner on the force in Person of Interest is Detective Jocelyn Carter, a tough African American woman. Though Montoya is a lesbian, the difference here is that Carter has been pretty much asexual on the show. Other than having a son, she's seemingly shown no interest in anyone romantically. Another Batman character that Joss Carter is reminiscent of is Commissioner Gordon. Both Jim Gordon and her are the truest of true "good cops" on a police force that has more than its share of corruption. Carter's the greatest ally on the police force for Reese and Harold, while Commissioner Gordon is the primary ally for Batman.

5. Harold Finch is Alfred, Lucius Fox, and Oracle

Bruce Wayne might be the one with all the money in the Batman story, but John Reese depends on the funds of Harold Finch, aka Harold Wren. Harold acts as an amalgamation of several Batman characters. First and foremost, he's the one providing all the technical aspects like the super computer system that tracks people down. By the way, did I mention that this computer system is their representation of the Bat-Computer and the building they operate out of as a headquarters is their Bat Cave? Since Harold provides the tech, he's Lucius Fox. He also is the voice in John's ear, spying on everyone and doing the computer work itself. Therefore, Harold is also Oracle, aka Barbara Gordon. Harold at times also acts as the Alfred of the storyline, though, wherein he looks out for John Reese. Although their relationship is more along the lines of equals and friends instead of father and son, they still clearly work together out of a mutual respect and a sense of family.

6. Ramin Djawadi's Score for Person of Interest and Hans Zimmer's for Batman

Although it doesn't match a to a T, if you're a fan of one, you'll probably like the other. Both are dark, both consist of simple melodies that can repeat for a really long time without ever really seeming like a loop, and both are really only there for supplemental reasons rather than drawing attention to themselves.

7. The Gritty Realism

Of course, neither story is incredibly realistic. They're both fantasies. However, they both try to take the idea of a vigilante stopping crime and keep it grounded as much as possible. For example, a show like The Cape was drawing attention to its comic book inspirations and easily became a joke of itself. At times, it took itself very seriously, but it peppered in way too much silliness and camp. This prevented the serious moments from coming out rather than just seeming awkward. The humor in Person of Interest is similar to the humor in Christopher Nolan's Batman trilogy. It consists mostly of smirks and a few scenes here and there that have comedic effect without being "jokey" or taking you out of the story. People flat out die in the Batman trilogy. People flat out die in Person of Interest. In neither entity are you going to see someone magically come back to life or some kind of a hypnotism episode or something along those lines.

8. Archenemies Root and Carl Elias - The Joker, Ra's al Ghul, and Carmine Falcone

The head of the modern mafia in Person of Interest is a man named Carl Elias, played by Enrico Colantoni. Between he and his father, Gianni Moretti, you've pretty much got the Carmine Falcone and Sal Maroni mob bosses covered. Another villain on the show is Samantha Groves, or "Root" as her comic book name would be since that is her alias. She is very much the antithesis of Harold in that she's his equal in terms of hacking but wants to use the computer for destructive purposes rather than to help. She sees the world as being corrupted by all the bad people in it. Sound familiar to one Joker character? There's also elements there of Ra's al Ghul, who has always predominantly planned on basically resetting the world and starting anew so it could be a better place in the grand scheme of things. They've also introduced the villain Alistair Wesley who seems a bit like the antithesis of John Reese himself. I have no doubt we'll see some traits shine in him that remind us of some Batman villains - possibly Riddler with the way his cameras were set up and his plan was seemingly infallible. Just don't expect John Reese to find the social security number of Killer Croc, equally as you wouldn't expect Nolan's Batman to fight a mutant crocodile-man.

With all these comparisons and more than I'm sure I haven't even picked up on yet, it's pretty clear why Person of Interest is succeeding so well considering the success of the Nolan Batman films. If you're a fan of one of them and you haven't seen the other yet, I highly recommend checking them out. There's very little likelihood that you'll be disappointed. Batman Begins, The Dark Knight, and The Dark Knight Rises make up one of the most well received film trilogies of all time and Person of Interest seems to be going quite strong for a television show as well. It appears as though it's the TV show that we deserve as well as one we need. Sorry, I couldn't resist throwing that reference out there.

Uncanny Avengers Issue #1 - Review

Posted by The Dace Man - Friday, November 23, 2012

Hey there fellow Comic Nerds. Sorry for my delayed reports on comics it's been a while I know, but, The Dace Man is back and today we're breaking down Uncanny Avengers Issue #1. Hot off the tails of the epic battle between the X-Men and the Avengers it's time for Earth's Mightiest Heroes to start a new. With the tragic events of AvX both the X-Men and Avengers teams are broken. Cap goes the recruit process and the red skull hashes out an evil plan. Without giving to much away this issue looks like it's giving new life to the franchise while pandering to those who have only watched the movies. This new launch allows readers who have never picked up a Marvel comic to jump in with the formation of a new Avengers Team...Uncanny one may say...Only complaint...no Deadpool. Bet you saw that coming. I know this was brief one guys and gals but it was only one issue not an entire volume set. So run out to your local comic shop or hell even Barnes & Noble and pick up this issue!!

Hey there Fan boy Anon Nation. Chris "The Dace Man" Dace back with another article you guys can sink your fingers in. I realize I may not reach a wide audience...yet...but I felt since It's black Friday and all it's my duty to break down the greatest Christmas special of all time....OF ALL TIME! The Year Without A Santa Claus the greatest holiday special of all time, if you think otherwise....you have poor taste so go watch Elf again. This 1974 stop motion animation classic based on the 1956 book of the same name blasted onto our sets and is still a favorite of multiple generations and generations to come.

Imagine a year where Santa couldn't make his rounds. Poppycock right? Its a 1974 classic I can use the word Poppycock... Santa catches a cold and decides the world isn't filled with enough Christmas cheer anymore so why not take the year off. That kinda mentality is what got Obama re-elected....work one day a year and you still need a day...Oh shit he turned a classic political. get your panties out of a bunch and laugh it was a joke.  Mrs. Claus felt no way Jose we gotta get the cheer back and get Santa to work cause this is momma's spa day. So she sent out a couple of elves to get proof that the cheer does exist. Awesomeness ensues! Not to mention my favorite pair of holiday Icons, Snow Miser and Heat Miser!! So I eagerly await ABC Family to play this one a thousand times!

Girl Meets World - Boy Meets World Sequel

Posted by The Dace Man - Monday, November 19, 2012

No no no. You are not miss reading my fellow 90s fanatics! The highly rumored project seems to be more and more like an actualization as 2013 quickly approaches. Though Ben Savage insist he can't speak about it, that, to me at least, implies it's more real than not. According to the world wide web Disney has ordered a pilot to feature the daughter of one of the most beloved couples in ABC history, Cory and Topanga. Begin the ultimate T.G.I.F. Fanboy firework parade!

Set nearly 12 years after the gang headed to NYC, Corey and Topanga would have a child and we would follow the life of their child growing up! How awesome would that be right? But hold up... there are so many questions that these vague details that have been leaking leave us with. Will the show take place in NYC or will the Philly Fans move back home? Will there be Sean still be attached to Corey's hip? Will Eric be present and has he ever found a purpose within the 12 years he's been off T.V.? And possibly the most important question of them all....Will there be Feeny!?!?!?!? Granted Mr. Feeny is up in his mid 80's, but come on he made Boy Meets World....Boy Meets World! The life lessons Feeny taught the gang of Corey, Eric, Sean and Topanga resonate with people of my generation. So here's the big question gang....are you ready for a Boy Meets World sequel? I for one am open to the idea considering the original creator and producer is on board. One can't help but wonder though will it feel like a reboot with a girl more so than a sequel. Only time will tell and you can bet your bottom dollar that if...well...when, it's Disney they will produce it, the show airs yours truly will be glued to a T.V. set awaiting the Feeny call or Matthews call...whatever it may be.

Ms Marvel Volume 2: Civil War Review

Posted by The Dace Man

Hey there nerd herd, Chris "The Dace Man" Dace back to the realm of comics to break down Ms. Marvel Volume 2: Civil War for ya guys. Collecting Ms. Marvel issues 6 through 10 this read is written by Brian reed and penciled by Roberto Delatorre and Guiseppe Camuncoli. Marvel Heroes are at it for the first time, they square off again in AvX...which I reviewed a few days ago...shameless plug. To register or not to register that is the major question, and a question that can turn a hero such as Captain America into a criminal. A major Marvel event stemmed from the rogue antics of young supper hero group that chases a villain into a small town which is subsequently destroyed. Enter Tony Stark. Now the Director of S.H.I.E.L.D. and leader of the registration act declaring any Hero who does not register an enemy of the public. Choose your sides, Team Cap or Team Stark?

For Carol Danvers the answer seems easy at first. Serve her country and register. It is now her duty to round up all heroes who refuse to register with the government and she finds this to be harder than she thought. Join Carol on a test of character that even she is not ready for. With the Registration Act in effect this story arc pits friends v.s. friends and former teammates against each other. A shot read but never the less a good one. Being biased to Ms. Marvel, not just because she's smoking hot for a 2D drawing, but because it's humorous and interesting to see a character coming into her own.

90s Nick Flash Back - Rugrats

Posted by The Dace Man - Wednesday, November 14, 2012

Strap up your diapies it's time for another 90's flash back! The Dace Man here with another 90s Nick flash back and this time it's the cartoon that dominated not only the 90s but the turn of the century as well. Of course I'm talking about the children who found the fountain of youth for over a decade...The Rugrats. Scoring three major film releases, multiple games across several platforms and toys galore I think it's safe to say the cartoon known as Rugrats was the juggernaut of my childhood.

Tommy. Chucky, Phil, Lil, and Angelica the original babies of higher learning flushed onto our TV sets in August of 91 truly being a 90s Nick Cartoon and running till June of 2004. At which time they spun off into a five year sequel known as Rugrats: All Grown Up. Dominating the Nickelodeon airwaves for a total of 172 episodes these babies, along with many other staples in the franchise including Suzie, Kimmy, and Dil, had numerous adventures and fantasies that would captivate children across the globe. I for one learned several life lessons and the meaning of many holidays through this cartoon it's self. I truly miss these babies and their fantasy land adventures but hey all good things must come to and end, I mean would you really want to see Rugrats: 22yrs Old Unemployeed and Always At a Bar? Yeah I didn't think so. So today's 90's Nick Flash Bag goes out to you Tommy and the gang! Always keeping a screwdriver handy!

A Charlie Brown Thanksgiving

Posted by The Dace Man - Tuesday, November 13, 2012

It's really not a holiday with out a Charlie Brown prime time TV special. The Dace Man here to break down a tradition of many Americans.  Straight out of the newspapers and right into prime time on CBS The Peanuts captivate audiences and give that nostalgic holiday feel for many households.

To me personally you know the Holidays are officially upon us, no not 15 days prior to Halloween where they air Christmas commercials, but rather the classic cartoon special
A Charlie Brown Thanksgiving. To me it gives a great sense of comfort and that giddiness you would get as a kid when the season sets in. For that brief thirty minutes around Thanksgiving I get excited for the holiday again. Rather than the holiday being a chore and hassle for a half hour Charlie and his fellow Peanuts take me away from life and I can be a kid again.

Originally airing in November of 1973 and in turn winning an Emmy the following year, this classic continues to air nearly four decades letter and spanning across several generations. We learn the meaning of Thanksgiving and get to follow these children, who are in theory now old enough to be my parents, on their journey. So hopefully this holiday season you kick it off with the tradition of   A Charlie Brown Thanksgiving, rather than being sucked into a countdown to a countdown or a radio station going rouge and playing Christmas music the day after Halloween.

90s Nick Flash Back - Angry Beavers

Posted by The Dace Man - Monday, November 12, 2012

Hey there Fan Boys, Chris "The Dace Man" Dace here coming at you with a new segment where we flash back to the Orange Days. That's right 90s on Nick. The Era of Slime, Double Daring and some chick named Clarissa explaining it all. I'm sorry if you were born around the turn of the century cause you were truly screwed out of awesome television programing. The first show were gonna tickle your nostalgic brains with is Angry Beavers. Remember the suave and cool older brother Norbert and the not so intelligent brother Daggett. I sure as hell do, cause I'm cool.

Four seasons filled with sixty-two beaver filled episodes, yeah I giggled too, having it's original run towards the end of the 90s. This show still a joy to watch over a decade later. From the intelligent design that was Stump to Norbert's love interest Treeflower and rounding out the group with the Barry White like bear...Barry Bear the cartoon was filled with memorable characters and fun for me as a kid....and an immature adult. All I can say is thank you Shout for releasing this on DVD so I can spend endless hours in my basement watching Saturday morning cartoons on a Wednesday night in a bean bag chair eating Cheetos. Just like the rest of the 90s...BRING IT BACK. We need more beaver on TV...yeah I giggled again too....

Avengers vs X-Men Review

Posted by The Dace Man

The two largest teams square of in this years largest comic event. It's yours truly Chris "The Dace Man" Dace coming to you with the latest review. Just four days after the official Hard Cover release of Avengers v.s. X-Men, there is no way I was able to break away once I started reading. Lucky for me I had a three hour flight out to Dallas so my airport experience, from the moment I got through the complementary TSA groping to the wait in the Avis line for my associate to get a rental I COULD NOT put this collection down. Collecting Avengers vs. X-Men 0-12, Point One (AVX story), AVX: VS 1-6, and Avengers vs. X-Men: Infinite 1, 6, 10 and bring together the greatest writers, inkers and WWE Champion in the business just to gather this great story.

So if you are reading this review and are as giddy as I am about this match-up chance is you know the long tale of Scott Summers and Jean Grey. Surely you must also know the story of The Phoenix. The entity that used Jean as a host and caused great destruction and ultimately the life of the then Mrs. Jean Summers. Skip a head through time and we have Hope The decedent of Scott brought back in time to be the messiah of the mutant race. Which was nearly wiped out by Wanda Maximoff the Scarlet Witch, one of these days I will get around to my review for The House of M. I read way to many comics. Well the Phoenix is on it's way back to the earth and it's looking for a new host. The Avengers get the heads up from Nova and realize this is an incident that can not be repeated. Cap travels to Utopia to take Hope with him and protect her from the Phoenix Force. Cyclops has other plans. He sees this as an opportunity to have the mutant race rise from the ashes of the mere 200 or so left and rebuild their race. So ring the bell, the lines have been drawn and it's time for a brawl. Pitting friends against friends, and even a husband v.s.wife, no kind of domestic abuse better than superhero domestic abuse.

After the thirteen awesome issues of The Phoenix Force selecting a host, or possibly hosts...hmmm strokes chin, and the fall out between these two legendary teams, there are six awesome side stories waiting for you at the end of the collection. I don't know about you but for some reason I completely marked out for the fight of Cap v.s. Gambit and The Thing v.s Namor. So trust me this is a must buy I know I say it a lot but this one above all is one to have in your collection. Hell WWE Champion CM Punk made it a point to endorse this Marvel comic event. As always check back regularly to see what  Chris "The Dace Man" Dace is looking at, and no not just porn, as well as all other bloggers here at Fanboys Anonymous. So for The Few, The Proud, and of course The Dacetacular, grab a beer, or in this case a ticket to the best fight of the year, and check out what's going on here in the Dace-Sphere. Ender's Game Book Review

Posted by Unknown - Friday, November 9, 2012

In honor of the movie being released in less than a year I will be reviewing the book, Ender's Game.

Enders game download pdf torrent

Seemingly taking place is a post apocalyptic future Ender Wiggin is a super intelligent child who must save the world.  Planet Earth has been devastated by an invasion of 'buggers'.  Buggers are insect like aliens from a distant planet.  In order to help preserve life on Earth the search is on for a command leader intelligent enough to design a battle strategy to would defeat the buggers.

In a school full of child geniuses Ender is the smartest.  Ender is chosen above all others, including his siblings, to attend Battle School. Battle School is a lot like it sounds, it is a futuristic school to teach the most intelligent of children how to wage war.  At Battle School,  Ender meets some people that are crucial to his future.  I do not want to give away too much of the story, I merely wanted to set it up.

This book is skillfully composed and has a unique twist. The book has multiple focuses including politics, war, and life as a young child.  Ender's Game is especially rewarding if you are someone who has experienced bullying.  If you are interested in sci-fi, this is a must read. As further evidence to its popularity, Ender's Game was made into a graphic novel series.  There are a number of sequels to this book.  Some sequels were written by the original author Orson Scott Card and some were not.

I can not wait for the movie and I am especially excited to see Harrison Ford as Colonel Graff.  Overall I would give the book a 7.0 out of 10.  If I read this book at a younger age my review would probably have been higher.  My final thought is did the Battle School 'desks' spark the idea for a tablet computer?

Cable and Deadpool Review

Posted by Unknown

Never before has there been a more odd couple.  Karl Rove and Rachel Maddow would have nothing on these two.

read online, cable and deadpool, cbr download

Cable is a mutant from the future with a messiah complex.  He knows the future and therefore believes he is responsible to fix the present.  He is a telepathic telekinetic with seemly unlimited power. He was infected with a techno virus as a child, hence the metal arm.

Deadpool aka the merc with a mouth is an assassin that constantly breaks the fourth wall.  Deadpool actually does not even know who he really is.  Is he Wade Wilson, is he T-Ray, Loki's son?  Even though he does not know his own identity he possesses unique abilities.  His healing factor puts Wolverine's to shame.  Deadpool is also an expert marksman, swordsman and martial artist.  Deadpool has killed for fun and has no allegiance to good or evil.

These two characters team up for an unforgettable 50 issue series.  Throughout the series they are both allies and enemies.  They tangle with noteworthy friends and foes such as Spiderman, Captain America, Sinister, Red Skull, and the Fantastic Four.  They also have quite a few run ins with lessen known characters such as Domino, Alex Hayden, Taskmaster, and Bob.  Bob is a former agent of Hydra that is either Deadpool's friend or captive, depending on the situation.  This series also has cross over issues during Civil War.

Cable and Deadpool has everything, from island creation, to time travel, to alternate universes, to no one ever really dying.  This book is a great example of why we love comics.  I give this series a 7.5 out of 10.  It is wildly entertaining.

This is a comic I would recommend to absolutely anyone.  Whether you are an avid comic reader, do not even know who Bruce Wayne is, or are anywhere in between.  This comic will keep your attention.

watch batman online, stream, download The dark knight rises

The story begins with a mysterious murder of a high ranking member of the organized crime family on Halloween day. From there each issue continues to tell the story of Batman attempting to catch the killer who only strikes on Holidays.  Each of the 13 issues has an exciting story within the larger story.

This story kept me guessing the entire time as to who 'Holiday' really was?  Just when I thought I had an idea there was a left turn in the plot. The comic was able to bring smaller villains into the story and give them important roles.  I mean how many people know who Solomon Grundy is?  In this story arc we were also given the origin of a villain. While this 'turn to the dark side' was not unexpected, it was executed perfectly.

The prologue in the newest print of the book has a Q and A with Christopher Nolan, writer and director of the Dark Knight trilogy.  Nolan explains how influential this 13 issue series was to creating the entire trilogy. After reading The Long Halloween, you will only enjoy the movies even more.

Combine this profound story with the unique and aesthetically pleasing artwork of Tim Sale and you will have a hard time putting this series down.  I give this series a 9.0 out of 10.  Find out who Holiday is, then pick up a copy of Dark Victory the sequel to The Long Halloween.

Halo 4 Review

Posted by Unknown - Tuesday, November 6, 2012

The wait is over.  Halo 4 is finally here and it was more than worth the wait.  And where the HELL do I begin?!

Halo 4 picks up where Halo 3 left off.  Master Chief is floating aimless like through space aboard a ship that's be torn nearly in half.  In chryosleep, his companion artificial intelligence Cortana watches over him until someone, or something finds the desolate ship and breeches its quarters.  A rogue fleet of the covenant, a group of alien races that have false religious beliefs about ancient architectures strewn out within the Milky Way galaxy.  They hold Master Chief responsible for their failure prophecies and the destruction of their master plans to unknowingly unleash a plague known as the flood throughout the universe.  They want nothing more than Chief's head and they will stop at nothing to get it, despite the truce between covenant forces and mankind.

But there is more to the story.  We find our lovely blue naked A.I. Cortana seemingly damaged.  Something just doesn't seem right with her.  As previously mentions in past Halo titles, A.I. lifeforms only have a lifespan of 7 years before they learn and think themselves into insanity.  It has been 8 years since Cortana's creation.  And the inevitable has begun.

Our duo finds their self floating toward a strange metal planet.  A planet that was built by the Forerunners, much like the Halo rings.  And on this metal planet, an ancient evil villain is imprisoned.  Who is he?  What are his intentions?  The most logical answer to these questions is "WHO CARES, HE'S EVIL!  DUH!  WE GOTTA KILL THAT MUHFUGGER!"

After Halo:  Reach, Bungie announced that they were leaving the Halo franchise in the hands of 343 Industries.  This worried fans of the series.  Could another company really continue to make such quality games with solid story and action packed gameplay?  Well, to prove their worthiness, 343 Industries released a HD release of Halo Combat Evolved, the first in the series.  They definitely proved that they could pull off an incredible upgrade in terms of graphics, but they brought nothing new to the table in terms of gameplay.  So people continued to worry.  Unit the release of their first teaser trailer.

The initial teaser trailer blew people away.  But it was just a trailer.  Sure the graphics looked great, but it showed no actual gameplay.  Then, they start releasing live action trailers for the game.  This is never a good sign in my opinion.  If you're showing all of these trailers with no actual preview of the game you're advertising, to me it means you have nothing of value to show.

halo 4 master chief

When actual gameplay was shown for Halo 4, I had no words.  The graphics were flawless.  I mean, you can't even tell that what you're seeing isn't real.  The live action trailers were now justified.  It was only a matter of time until the game came out and I could finally get my hands on it.

The very first cut scene blew me away. Within the first 20 seconds of the opening scene, I decided that this game was THE best release on the Xbox 360 to date.  I thought that L.A. Noire had true-to-life graphics.  I was sorely mistaken.  Halo 4's cut scenes make you feel like you're actually watching live actors acting in a blockbuster film.  From the movement of their mouths, to the movement of their eyes, right down the the pores in their skin.  But that wasn't anything...

The game was completely rebuilt from the ground up.  The landscapes are absolutely stunning.  The sounds of the guns have a heavier sound.  The quality of the new weapons and the amount of weapons total leave you never empty handed.  Brand new armor abilities.  Custom loadouts... Everything seems incredibly polished. I can't imagine the budget they had to make this game.

The multiplayer has a few new twists to it.  With the new Call of Duty type points rewards and the ability to call ordinance perks.  New game modes (though I'm kind of disappointed that Swat was taken away.  I'm best at headshots.) and even new vehicles, like the new mech suit.  The higher you rank, the more weapons and perks you unlock for your custom loadouts.

Halo 4 Master Chief Death

There is not a single complaint I have about this game.  I can barely keep my eyes open as I type this, but I can say without a doubt that this is the BEST first person shooter I've ever played and one of the best games  I've ever played in my entire life.  Outstanding.  I can't wait to see the sequel.  10/10 I would most certainly bang.  Time to impress, COD.  You have a tough match to follow up.

Wreck-It Ralph Movie Review

Welcome to the official relaunch of REVIEWPOINT, a segment that is coming over from my Out on Limbs blog like a pilgrim on the Mayflower. If you're unaware of how this works, reviews are based on a 3-point scale of HIT, RICOCHET, and MISS. These essentially translate to Good, Ok, and Bad respectively. What better way to start things off for Fanboys Anonymous than to go right into a film dedicated to game aficionados? It's time to review Disney's Wreck-It Ralph.

First, a little backstory. For those that don't know, I'm one of those people who gets to the movie theater early, tries to sit in the direct center of the auditorium, pays close attention to every detail as much as possible and immediately checks the IMDB trivia when I get home. As such, I'm also someone who will write myself a note on my phone if a preview trailer interests me a lot. This film was one of those instances. I've seen all but four Pixar films (A Bug's Life, Cars, Cars 2, and Brave) and they have a great track record with me, so once I saw this trailer, I knew I would have to check it out. Imagine my surprise when I found it that it WASN'T a Pixar film at all - just under the same Disney wing. If you didn't tell me, I wouldn't have known the difference, because in the end, the film delivers.

WARNING: SPOILER ALERT. If you do not want to know details about the movie, do not read what follows.

PLOT SUMMARY:

The film centers around the character of Ralph who is actually the villain of a video game entitled Fix-It Felix. Inspired by the gameplay of the original Donkey Kong game, Ralph stands atop a building that he destroys until the hero, Felix, can repair it and toss Ralph into the mud below, receiving the admiration of his peers and a medal for his efforts. Ralph is clearly the antagonist of the game, shouting his trademark phrase "I'm gonna wreck it" and attempting to do just that.

What we find out, though, is that despite Ralph's role as the villain, he is in fact not a "bad guy", as put by Zangief from the Street Fighter series. Several villains of the video games in the arcade they share have a support group called Bad Anon [ahem, should I even throw out the Fanboys Anonymous nod here?] where they discuss their feelings on their jobs. Ralph is tired of being the villain and would like to be a hero for once, but this is forbidden as it is against the code of the game. Rules are rules.

When Ralph becomes aware of the ability to win a heroic medal from another video game, Hero's Duty, he sets forth to achieve it and bring it back to his game to get the respect and admiration he deserves. Along the way, he befriends a little girl named Vanellope Von Schweetz from a racing game called Sugar Rush. Vanellope, voiced by Sarah Silverman, is an outcast in her game's world because she is actually a glitch in the coding and not a true character. Without outlining the entire film, essentially put, their goals intersect along with some other colorful characters and so on and so forth with lessons taught along the way - you know how these things go.

THE GOOD:

The true gem of this film is the attention to detail. While the story holds up, the acting is on par and the big elements can be checked off, it's the little things that give it the charm. There are a ton of cameos from video game characters of the past including Q*Bert, Ryu and M. Bison from Street Fighter, Sonic the Hedgehog, Bowser and many more.

Qbert cameo Wreck It Ralph Sonic the Hedgehog Mario Bros

The cameos are made that much more fun due to the jokes that accompany them. Some are throwaways, like graffiti stating "all your base are belong to us", but others become true plot points. That Bad Anon support group is housed in the rectangle that the ghosts are stored in Pac-Man and headed by the orange ghost, Clyde. One of my favorite parts of the film involves Ralph leaving this room and stealing the cherry from the Pac-Man game itself.

Wreck It Ralph Pacman Cherry YouTube

I thought it was a spectacular idea for the midway access point between games, called Game Central Station (a pun on Grand Central Station), to be represented as a surge protector extension that housed the electrical sockets each game was plugged into, allowing characters to go into other games via their power chords. There are also funny references to candy in the Sugar Rush sections of the film, with one of my favorites being a donut named Duncan (aka Dunkin).

The characters are fleshed out well enough for a kids film and were all intriguing enough to warrant their screen time for the most part. This makes it that much easier to just sit back and look out for Easter eggs and hidden jokes rather than struggle to identify with the protagonists for the film's sake.

THE BAD:

For the most part, there isn't much to complain about as far as I'm concerned, though there are a few things that I would have liked tweaked a little bit. The weakest character of the bunch in my opinion is King Candy, who could have used a few more minutes of development to set him up for how important he ends up being. It's a bit of a shame that so much of the movie has to take place in the Sugar Rush universe and that we couldn't see more instances of Ralph's "fish out of water" situation with other video games. One video game character that I was disappointed to not see was Kirby. I was also surprised that, to the best of my knowledge, there were no Tetris jokes. It seemed like and easy thing to throw out there, for Tetris blocks to come in for a quick gag. Of course, there's always the chance that these things and more could have been edited for time constraints and will appear in the deleted scenes. One more disappointment I had was with the music. I didn't find it as catchy as many other animated songs can be (and in the instance of the Sugar Rush song, I actually found it quite annoying to listen to during the credits).

THE RATING REVIEWPOINT: HIT.

I might not be the most avid gamer out there, but I knew enough going into this that I could appreciate a lot of what they did in this film. Whether it was the Konami Code, the sound effect of Fix-It Felix's jumps, or the characterization of Sour Bill, the references were enough on their own for me to enjoy this film. Outside of that aspect, the story still holds up rather well and it's certainly on my radar as a possible winner for Best Animated Film at the next Academy Awards. If you're a kid at heart or you have kids of your own, I would recommend going to see this movie. As long as you're not going into it with cynical eyes, you'll more than likely enjoy it.

SIDE NOTE: Before the film, there was a short entitled Paperman directed by John Kahrs which I absolutely loved. I highly suggest checking it out if you can.

Uncanny X-Force Volume 1: The Apocalypse Solution Review

Posted by The Dace Man - Sunday, November 4, 2012

Hey there Fanboys. Yours truly back with a Sunday edition since I have an extra hour. Today we're gonna jump into Rick Remender's Uncanny X-Force. Penciled by Jerome Opena and Leonardo Manco (Wolverine:Road to Hell) this collection covers Uncanny X-Force issues 1-4 and Wolverine: Road to Hell. Personally this is one of my favorite teams in the Marvel Universe, including my man Deadpool, Fantomex, Wolverine, Archangel and the beautiful Psylocke. So what's the one thing the X-men can't do that the X-Force can do...kill. So when an issue like Apocalypse returning as a child,Wolverine knows what must be done. As if Wolverine already didn't have enough going on in his life, he forms this secret team to handle the issues the PR Friendly X-Men cannot. Luckily for us true-believers we get a very interesting read from the formation of this team.

We kick off our fun filled read with the formation of the group in Wolverine: Road to hell. The gang is recruited by Warren Worthington a.k.a Archangel and explain the issue with En Sabah Nur or Apocalypse...if you will. Nothing special except a set up story. We roll right into the action with issue 1 with Deadpool infiltrating Apocalypse's temple to see what is occurring. Also in this issue we see the relationship between Psylocke and Warren. The issue ends with the gang responding to Deadpool's findings and we are ready for some action and retrieval of Deadpool! Wooo!!!!!

Issue 2 starts off with some flashbacks and some brain washing for the young En Sabah Nur. The gang realizes they have pursue Apocalypse and his horsemen....TO THE MOON!!! Once the X-Force arrives at the moon and prepare for landing they are greeted by War and the rest of the four horsemen ending Issue 2 with a huge battle scene that kicks some ass. and launches us right into Issue 3. This issue explains how the Horsemen of Apocalypse were chosen  this time around. Deapool rescues Warren and War decides to take Psyloche with him. Fantomex makes the save for Wolverine and charges into Apocalypses base. and we wind down this issue with a scene of Psylocke walking down a corridor. The last issue sees the gang heading for Apocalypse to do what must be done, but since Apocalypse is currently a child not yet corrupted as the old Apocalypse was. Can the team do what must be done or will they wuss out at the last minute? I don't want to spoil this for you but trust me this read is worth it!

So that concludes the first Volume of Uncanny X-Force. Take my advise if you're looking for a ream like comic this is it. Plus it has my favorite character Deadpool not to mention every ones favorite Wolverine. As always check back regularly to see what  Chris "The Dace Man" Dace is looking at, and no not just porn, as well as all other bloggers here at Fanboys Anonymous. So for The Few, The Proud, and of course The Dacetacular, grab a beer, or in this case a rocket to the moon, and check out what's going on here in the Dace-Sphere. See ya next time.

Much can be said about video game movie adaptations.  One thing in particular that can be said is that they usually aren't very good.  But, what about this video game adaption?  What can be said about this one?  Well... it wasn't very good.

silent hill revelations poster

In my opinion, the first movie wasn't bad.  It wasn't great, but it definitely wasn't bad.  I enjoyed it.  I'm a fan of the Silent Hill series, and I felt that they did a good job giving the movie that "Silent Hill" feel.  But, Silent Hill:  Revelations felt very stale.  The only time I jumped was when the scene cut to a Pop Tart popping out of a toaster.  They failed to make me feel any sense danger.  And it felt hard for me to even care if the characters lived or died.

The story follows the little girl from the first movie.  But she's not little anymore.  It's her birthday and she's 18 years old.  I know what you're probably thinking, "she was stuck in Silent Hill when the first movie ended."  Bro, it's a sequel.  They're going to explain what happened after the first movie.  Go see the movie if you want to know that bad.  I'm not spoiling this one.  I didn't like it enough to want to rant on and on about it.

 Adelaide Clemens Silent Hill Revelations

But anyway, she's all grown up now.  Her and her adopted father are on the run from a group of people who believe in the sort of religion that the people of Silent Hill kind of created.  They want to bring the daughter back to Silent Hill so that she can join with her darker half.  Once joined with her darker half, she can be killed and the people of Silent Hill can "cleanse the world of its sins" or whatever...

Silent hill meme sean bean as Boromir one does not

Listen, I'm just going to cut this one short, there's really not much else to talk about.  Just don't waste your time and money seeing this movie.  ESPECIALLY not in 3D.  If you haven't learned by now, no movie is worth seeing in 3D except for epic movies like Avatar and Prometheus.  Films that are actually shot and made for 3D.  Not pieces of trash like Silent Hill who are just jumping on the 3D bandwagon to cash in.  It was awesome watching the ash fall in the beginning of the movie.  And then that Pop Tart really got me... but that's about it.  Wait until it comes out on cable if you're even the least bit curious about the movie.

Boy Wonder Movie Review

Posted by Unknown - Saturday, November 3, 2012

No, they didn't make a movie about Robin, but it's slightly obvious that this story is directly influenced by Batman. The way the director works also shows that he may also have a great love for graphic novels.

boy wonder batman robin movie
The movie follows a young 17 year old boy named Sean Donovan who, at a young age, witnessed his mother's murder right before his eyes. This changed him on a deep level. He became fixated on the man he saw that night, his mother's killer. He wants nothing but to find the man and seek revenge. But when he reads one day that the man he believes killed his mother was arrested and is out of reach, he decides to take his rage out on something other than his punching bag. On people who inflict pain on others.

boy wonder training batman robin movie

Our Boy Wonder doesn't rock the cape or even the tight spandex suit. He doesn't use fancy gadgets or wing dings (Robin's version of batarangs) or even a grappling gun. And he certainly doesn't follow Batman's 'no gun' policy. He is fueled by, not only rage, but a sort of performance enhancer. No, not like Viagra. It's a drug, or poison, that blocks out pain and builds strength. Sort of like Bane's 'venom' only he doesn't become a huge freakish monster.

Boy Wonder Movie Photos

Like Batman, Sean has a friend in the police, Bill Baldwin. A detective who helped identify Sean's mother's killer on that very night so many years ago. This detective lets him spend time at the station and peruse through files. Definitely taking influence from Batman again, with Commissioner Gordon. As detective Baldwin's retirement approaches, a cop named Teresa Amesgets promoted to detective for making an arrest and cracking a 2 year case. The same man she arrested, is the man Sean believes to be his mother's killer.

Sean, throughout the movie, is constantly tormented by flashbacks of that night. It starts to take a toll on him and he starts to lose control. He begins to piece things together as he starts to remember details he couldn't remember before of the night he watched his mom died. If you're a fan of batman, or just plain old vigilante vengeance, you're going to love this movie. But don't take it from me, take it from Ant Dogg Chillin himself:

"You can't go wrong with the Batman recipe. This movie is no exception."

Earth's Mightiest Heros Canceled! Replaced by Avengers Assembled

Posted by Unknown - Friday, November 2, 2012

After two seasons Avengers: Earth’s Mightiest Heroes is no more. In this humble writers opinion, EMH was the best marvel cartoon since the original X-Men cartoon circa 1992. Despite being on the Disney XD channel the cartoon featured plenty of witty/sarcastic humor along with carefully crafted stories. With the characters back stories already told, the series was able to jump into classic stories and amusing interactions between the Avengers. The series was starting to tackle some of the biggest arcs in Marvel including the Secret Invasion. From where the storyline left off a half season arc of Civil War could easily have been accomplished.

download stream watch earths mightiest heroes online free

So why was it canceled? EMH was canceled and replaced by a new series Avengers Assemble. The new series will focus on the characters from the Avengers movie. Costumes will closely resemble the costumes in the movie. Viewers will most likely have to sit through another half season of origin stories for the characters. The Falcon character was added to Avengers Assemble despite not appearing in the Avengers movie. Falcon is not a character is the movie but is being added to replace T'Challa as the minority character on the team. I would have preferred Panther or Luke Cage over Falcon, but I also would have preferred for EMH not to be canceled.

What I will miss most:

+ Hawkeye and Hulk’s friendship
+ Captain America and Winter Solider finishing their story
+ Hulk and Thor constantly arguing
+ Enchantress and Surtur finishing their story
+ Future episodes featuring the New Avengers

Good luck Avengers Assembled. You have big shoes to fill.

What up Fan boys? You cant stop the magic that is coming off the fingertips of yours truly, Chris "The Dace Man" Dace. For my fourth post of the day were gonna dive into the Joss Whedon series of the Astonishing X-Men. I'm pretty sure with just that sentence millions of pants babies were just born. Though Whedon only wrote the first 4 volumes of the Astonishing X-men there's no reason not to invest in this franchise...I know I say that a lot but if you're a true comic fan at least pick up the first four volumes. Hell if you got all hot and bothered over the Avengers this summer you definitely need to pick up this series. So men strap on your tightest blue and yellow tights and girls wear something white and very slutty because here we go with Astonishing X-Men Volume 1: Gifted collecting issues 1-6.

We kick of this new telling of X-men with Emma Frost and Cyclops gathering a new team to Astonish the world. The story follows Kittie Pryde returning to the mansion as the beginning of a new school year. We see that beast has returned as well and they introduce the students to themselves. We discover Emma and Scott are in a relationship now and with that we get the unorthodox yet completely expected return of Wolverine to battle with Cyclops. with them fighting in the yard it delivers one of my favorite lines from Emma Frost: "Superpowers, A scintillating wit and the best body money can buy...and I still rate bellow a corpse". Emma is of course alluding to the death of Jean Grey in the original run of X-Men. Beast eventually get the two sides to calm down and the gang will head to battle a robbery in the city and roll into Issue 2.

In Issue 2 we're kicked off with a press conference of a new mutant who can not control this monster that lives with in her as a party crasher that occurred in the previous issue. The X-Men respond to the party crasher and light that place up in Joss Whedon fashion! Action, Action and some more action to show the world the X-Men are back.after skirmishing with the party crasher that takes off leaving the X-Men to deal with the whole "We're Back" thing. Beast then takes of to the Lab where the young mutant introduced earlier in the issue was taken and "the cure". End numero dos.

The third installment takes us to mutants demanding "the cure" from the Lab. we find that the Party Crasher from last night is also at the lab. GASP!!! I thought Whedon was writing this not M. Knight Shamalanadingdong...you try and spell it. then as wwe finish up with that breathtaking page we see some one else talk and it's none other than NICK FURY!! I can't handle this excitement. Shield aligning themselves with the X-Men OHH MERHHH GAWWDDD! Alright that's enough heavy breathing fat man impressions...i need to hit the gym.  So Fury is looking to take some one down and alerts Scott of his plans. Elsewhere in the mansion Wolverine gets the jump on Beast because Beast is becoming a beast. Didn't see that one coming. so they bounce off the walls off the mansion stabbing each other infront of students enough to piss of the White Queen and leave us a cliff hanger for Issue 4. Good thing I bought the collection. Forward! Unlike Obama's campaign...awww he went there.

Some one say Jean again? The woman's been dead even before this collection and she gets more reads than I do. Hashtag whiskey tango foxtrot. So we kick this off with a little bit of back story on the party crasher I mentioned a few times before. Cool stuff right? Not really same old tired schtick. Wolverine please just whoop this guys alien booty. Ok so here's the plan the X-Men are gonna go with, storm the Lab and see what's up. Party Crasher decides he's going to go the mansion and confront them. Some kids in their PJs tell the slow poke he just missed em. Now he has to rush home to make tea. Jay Kay he does some thing very villainous and you'll have to buy it to see what he exactly does. The X-Men though find some cool shiz though at the lab like a 6'7" guy made of metal you guys might remember. Time to mambo over to number 5...see what I did there?

Lets see how quick I can Some up Issue 5. And go. Scott takes a Nap. Villainous act from issue 4 revealed. Still not gonna tell you, go buy it. Colossus reflects. Wolverine kicks some ass. Party Crasher gets back to the Lab. Shield appears. End scene. How did I do? Ready for 6, in case you can't tell I'm smiling right now.

So 6 starts with some more back story on the whole cure and a stand off between the X-Men and S.H.I.E.L.D. This of course is interrupted, by the mutants who were impatiently waiting for the cure outside. so every one brawls and Party Crasher runs away after the little girl that creates the horrid monster. Arguments and action continue through this issue until we see the classic shot put of wolverine at the ship of the Party Crasher from Colossus. thus ending the story...or is it?

Check back soon when I have volume 2 up and posted...no not today. Here it comes I know you read these articles just for this line that I copy and paste and change only one thing. As always check back regularly to see what  Chris "The Dace Man" Dace is looking at, and no not just porn, as well as all other bloggers here at Fanboys Anonymous. Titus: Past, Present and Future?

Posted by The Dace Man

Hey there gang, Dace Man here venturing outside my normal realm of comics to talk to you about one of my favorite shows Titus. The show had it's run on Fox from March of 2000 till Early August of 2002. Definitely one of my all time favorite shows, Christopher Titus gave us a peak in to his brain with hilarious dark comedy that ran for a total of 54 Episodes.

Each episode would ceremoniously begin with Chris in a room with a single light. This setting was essentially Chris's mind and what was going on inside while the situations on the outside were occurring. The entire series followed a dysfunctional family dealing with very serious situations that were some how turned funny by the excellent cast. Stacy Keach as the father was an excellent choice for an intimidating father figure. Zach Ward portrayed the moronic step brother who followed the older brother around where ever he went. David Shatraw played the metro-sexual best friend Tommy Shafter and Cynthia Watros playing the 'normal' girlfriend Erin Fitzpatrick. The show immediately got rave reviews and a large cult following, still seen today. The show was quit witted and shot in real time with as minimal takes as possible.

With high ratings, excellent writing and a fan base that did not diminish through the years Titus was ruling the airwaves on Fox. The dark humor and rapid fire of jokes easily hooked audiences into scenarios that connected with audiences. The show also carried something that is important with a succesful run which is re-watch value. Ultimately though the network wishes and inconvenient timing for a certain episode lead to the demise of this instant classic.

Around the same time of Titus there was another couple on the air besides Chris and Erin, they were Dharma and Greg. Dharma and Greg had a split during there season which saw a spike in ratings, being a network executive this would make you very happy. According to Titus, Fox network approached him looking to do the same thing with Erin and Chris on the show. Titus refused to follow through with it since he and his real life wife Erin were still together as well as it creatively didn't fit the shows purpose, a pair trying to be normal whilst the family around were dysfunctional. Well once you bite the hand that feeds you, even though I completely agree with Titus, the Network stopped promoting the show and moved its time slot to watch the show slowly die on its own. On top of all that an episode on terrorism aired shortly after the tragic 9/11. The show was dead.

Christopher Titus continued to do comedy specials for Comedy Central after the shows end in 2002 but for fan boys, hey that's us, a glimmer of hope came in May 2010. A story broke that says Titus was in negotiations with Fox to produce a somewhat sequel to the cult favorite Titus. There would be, however, some differences. The story would continue 8 yrs after the original runs end, He would have divorced Erin and unfortunately his father would be dead. Granted this is all running parallel with his real life but come on a Titus without Stacy Keach! So what do you think? Would you like to see Titus II: Titus Strikes Back or should he let the original 54 episodes be the magical essences that was Titus?

Titus Renewal

Double dosage for you today comic friends! This time I'm diving into another one of my favorite runs and that is the Ms. Marvel franchise. Beauty, Brains, and Brawn if she can make dinner I will marry the first girl I see dressed as her. The first Volume we're going to dive into my fell nerds having a nerd-gasim right night is Ms. Marvel Volume 1: Best of the Best. This collection covers Ms. Marvel issues 1-5 and as a special treat Giant-Size Ms. Marvel #1. Written by Brian Reed and perfectly penciled by Roberto De La Torre, Carol Danvers a.k.a Mrs. Marvel is kicking but in her own comic that was launched in 2007. Now heading into a comic dominated by a not so well known comic heroin when it comes to the passersby reader, skepticism may ensue. Personally I was attracted by the picture not the story but once jumping into the story I am very glad I picked up this read.

We kick off our read with the Giant-Sized Ms. Marvel #1 which is tied into the crossover event by marvel House of M (I will be review this at a later date). To quickly recap what went down in the House of M for those of you that haven't been able to sink your adamantium claws into it yet. The Scarlet Which Wanda Maximoff had a mental break down which lead to the  two Marvel events Avengers: Disassembled  and The House of M. The House of M is an alternate reality that has Mutant population dominating the planet. We find Ms. Marvel in a battle with the Traveler, keep that in mind it will be important through out the Ms. Marvel story. After defeating the Traveler, Ms. Marvel meets her publicist and begins trying to get her name out there as a solo here which allows us to roll into the Ms. Marvel story.

Ms. Marvel kicks off with a little back story explain the days she spent in the air force and leads us to her doing what she does best, saving some little children. After kicking some bad guy booty, Carol sits down with her publicist to discuss things which Carol seems to have little to no interest in followed by a lunch with a good friend Jessica Drew known to the Marvel universe as Spider Woman. Later that evening whilst on patrol Ms. Marvel spots a falling object from the sky and decides to chase after it. While en route  she gets cold feet and calls for some back up. The back up she calls is none other than the First Avenger Captain America, who we find out is a little busy at the moment. Wen she arrives in the small town of Spaulding, Georgia, Ms. Marvel finds the town infested with Brood. That means Brood crushing time and queue action sequence! After battling the Brood for about an Issue and a half...Carol discovers they were chasing a creature called Cru. Queue the next battle and end with a bang.

Ms Marvel wakes up in issue 3 in the town formally known as Spaulding, Georgia. The Fantastic Four arrive on scene to find out what exactly went down in Georgia and they get Carol back to the big apple for only to be bombarded by her publicist and the press. He we go rolling into issue 4 with a little bit of a back story on the Traveler, which is awesome cause I had no idea who this crazy @#$% is. After the back story we are brought back to present time where the bruised and battled Ms. Marvel is dealing with the Press. While in the middle of the interview that Crazy Jeff Bridges look-a-like interrupts it and yet again another action scene Woo Hoo!! Except the Traveler gets all weird on us and doesn't really give a good fight. Enter Dr. Strange the only man who can make heads or tails of this situation. After examination and a whole bunch of magic talk, and I mean a whole bunch we see that the Traveler has an alternative power...playing possum. He gets a hold of what he was looking for and zaps Ms. Marvel and he to an alternate reality and we roll into issue 5 where she combats this threat and ultimately wins and gets back home. When she arrives in NYC she gets a phone call from Mr. Tony Stark asking if she has seen Cap and that a Registration Act has gone into effect. She replies "No" and as she walks in the room there is Cap waiting for her. End Issue 5 and begin the suspense leading into Marvel's Civil War.
