Jodorowsky's Dune chronicles the legendary Chilean director's mid-1970s incredibly ambitious attempt to adapt Frank Herbert's cult science fiction novel Dune. The project was to star Mick Jagger, Orson Welles, Salvador Dali, and David Carradine, and have an elaborate soundtrack by Pink Floyd.
In 1974, cult film director Alejandro Jodorowsky attempted to create the big-screen adaptation. As well as enticing some of the greatest actors of the time, Jodorowsky enlisted some of the most promising writers and artists. Without these meetings, some of the most iconic sci-fi cinema productions would never have been made.
Herbert traveled to Europe in 1976 to find that $2 million of the $9.5 million budget had already been spent in pre-production, and that Jodorowsky's script would result in a 14-hour film. "It was the size of a phone book," Herbert later recalled.
Jodorowsky took creative liberties with the source material, but Herbert said that he and Jodorowsky had an amicable relationship. The project ultimately stalled for financial reasons. The film rights lapsed until 1982, when they were purchased by Italian filmmaker Dino De Laurentiis, who eventually released the 1984 film Dune, directed by David Lynch.
Even though production collapsed after two years, Jodorowsky's team of then-relatively unknown concept artists continued exploring the themes and styles started on the project and ended up changing modern science fiction forever.
H.R. Giger went on to Ridley Scott's masterpiece Alien, Dan O'Bannon wrote Alien and Total Recall, Jean "Moebius" Giraud created artwork and futuristic worlds for Star Wars Episode V: The Empire Strikes Back, Tron, and The Fifth Element, and Chris Foss would go on to work on Alien and Superman. Jodorowsky's films Sante Sangre, El Topo, and The Holy Mountain have recently been released on Blu-ray in the U.S.
Director Frank Pavich of Jodorowsky's Dune tackles one of cinema's most enthralling "what could have been" stories, weaving interviews with the charismatic Jodorowsky, his collaborators, and supporters, together with animation to bring Moebius' storyboards to life. Even though the project exists only in the imaginations of its creators and as the hundreds of illustrations they left behind, Pavich's documentary chooses not to dwell on failure, but rather celebrates the ways in which the creative dreams of Dune planted seeds for many other iconic films that came after it.
This is an inspirational story about the power of the creative spirit, one that establishes Jodorowsky as a master of cinema and a true visionary of our time. Jodorowsky's Dune will available on DVD and Blu-ray on July 8, 2014.

I'm baaaaaack! Welcome to my review of the final chapter in Cullen Bunn, Salvador Espin, and Veronica Gandini's Deadpool vs. Carnage limited series comic book. It's been a fun ride, but like all good things, this too must end. Let's start off like I always do, with a brief recap to catch you up.
Even though Deadpool has been met with success in tracking down Carnage by riding the insanity wave, he only just discovered (or rather bonded with) the exact tool(s) he needs to finally end the serial killer's rampage after Mercury Team—four US soldiers bonded to Venom's symbiote spawns that were previously amalgamated into the superhero symbiote Hybrid—met a brutal end at the claws of Carnage.
Issue #4 opens with Carnage and Shriek at a psychiatric hospital (a fitting venue) holding a few patients and a doctor hostage as Carnage grills them about his life-shattering discovery of the patterns behind his chaos. It's not long before Deadpool crashes the party like always, but takes no time at all to show off what he and his new symbiotic pals can do. This is perhaps the best part of the book for me; Bunn reintroduces us to what the Mercury Team symbiotes are capable of by allowing Deadpool to have his fun with Carnage. Deadpool's design with the four symbiotes isn't half bad, too. At least Espin gave the Merc his mouth.
![]() |
| Admit it, Hybridpool looks much more bad-ass than Venompool. |
![]() |
| Yeah…who says Carnage and Shriek aren't Marvel's Joker and Harley? |
The way Carnage's story ends in this issue may appear anticlimactic at first, but there's a certain gravity to it that makes it a smart, fitting ending. Bunn sets things up for a revenge-driven sequel, but so far there has been no word of another miniseries spawning from this one. Luckily, Bunn knows how much symbiote fans hate it when a writer ices symbiote characters (*cough* Rick Remender *cough*) despite how much we rail against the multitudes of throwaway symbiote characters. (Maybe that's just me; I hate it when more new symbiotes are created and doomed to obscurity, but can't bear to see them die.) Even though Mercury Team is dead, its symbiotes and the Lasher war dog survive the encounter, ensuring their reappearance at some point in the future.
The writing in this issue may not have been as fun as in previous issues, but Bunn buckled down to deliver a solid, open-ended finale for the limited series. The story for issue #4 was less insane and more focused, which is okay with me; I like a little order to my chaos. The art was spectacular, as always, though the cover was still very much meh. I really haven't been a huge fan of Fabry and Adam Brown's covers for this series, and feel that veteran symbiote extraordinaire Clayton Crain would have been a far better choice for the covers. I'm just not that into the technicolor wackiness of Fabry and Brown's work.
Deadpool vs. Carnage #4 gets 4.5 stars out of 5 for the writing and 5 stars out of 5 for the art. Overall, this limited series gets 5 stars out of 5, and is definitely a must-read for those who've been waiting for this matchup since the '90s. You can either read the individual books digitally on Comixology right now or wait for the trade to come out in about a month, but don't skip this book if you're a Carnage or Deadpool fan. Don't forget to follow Fanboys Anonymous for more comic reviews by yours truly, and The Venom Site for all of your symbiote news, reviews, and points of views!
New York Comic Con Ticket Sales Ends With Error Pages, Sold Out in an Hour
Single and 3-day tickets for New York Comic Con went on sale Thursday at noon, and although ReedPOP reassured fans that they took the necessary steps to make sure purchasing tickets went as smoothly as possible, it did anything but that—crashing the website entirely within seconds.
When it comes to buying tickets to conventions, nothing is as stressful, and with New York Comic Con vastly growing to the size and popularity of San Diego Comic Con, it wasn't long until we saw the same repercussions.
Shortly after noon, the New York Comic Con website crashed due to the overwhelming traffic, landing users on a blank page with "Not Found (Error to Origin)." In an effort to quickly fix the issue, NYCC tweeted a direct link to ShowClix, the ticketing platform which remained—for the most part—working.
NYCC's virtual queue was a valiant attempt at accommodating the growing high demand in tickets. The queue automatically brought you to the tickets page when it was your turn, although the approximate wait time in the queue was at least an hour, and many people were directed to more error pages when buying tickets.
If that wasn't stressful enough, many fans were frustrated when they were forced to purchase single day tickets separately after the system said 3-day passes were sold out, even though others were still able to purchase them (I was able to after I refreshed the page).
Lance Fensterman, Global VP of ReedPOP that puts on the convention, acknowledged the system flaws, leaving a long apology statement that addressed major concerns and questions from fans.
"This is the identical ticket system we used last year," he wrote on Facebook. "The fact is that the demand for tickets was on a greater scale than even we did not imagine. For example, last year 4-day tickets took over 8 weeks to sell out, this year they took 40 minutes. The simple fact is that there is an extremely high demand for a limited supply of tickets."
He also went on to address the complaints of scalping as ticket scalpers acted fast, purchasing the maximum 6 tickets per order. Three-day passes quickly made it onto eBay and StubHub, selling for 400 times the original price.
"We have contacted eBay and they will not do anything to help us ban these sellers and in almost every instance, the sellers contact info is blocked. We will continue to pursue these one by one but when demand outstrips supply, capitalism dictates that someone is going to find a way to meet that demand."The 8-year-old East Coast convention has reached San Diego size, with an estimated 130,000 people in attendance last year. SDCC, which has been notorious for selling out within minutes, eliminated their 4-day badges this year.
It seems like NYCC should take the cue from its West-coast counterpart, adding an ID system that enables loyal fans to purchase tickets ahead of the general public with a code from the previous year's badge.
Aside from this year's ticketing mess, ReedPOP expanded the pop-culture convention for a 10-day New York Super Week. A $10 Super Week Card (sold separately, unless you purchased a 4-day pass) will get you into all the events, which already sounds worth the hassle.
Were you able to purchase your NYCC tickets? Still aggravated and need to vent? Let us know in the comment section below!
Readers and fantasy lovers: This is a great book! Since reading the first volume of The Sara Chronicles, I've noticed a definite—though not drastic—increase in creativity on Laura Hughes' part. Book one followed our heroine through unspeakable dangers, a difficult life, and ugly obstacles, and then left her with the ability to control nature's furious weather patterns. She finds her way and becomes better for it in the end with the tutelage of her powerful mentor.

Sara learns control and she learns to fight, but what happens when the enemy becomes yourself? Book two, Evolution of Us, begins something like this: Sara and friends have become powerful—perhaps too powerful. All the children are boiling pots of magical fury, and all are still dealing with hard pasts. Each and every one is afflicted by painful memories of abuse, abandonment, or loss. Like Professor X (X-Men) says, "The question, Jean Grey, is, are you gong to control the power, or allow it control you?" The children do the latter. They must each learn to defeat the enemy inside in order to overcome the evil tactics of their dark enemy, the soulless Garren.
This series is unique. It's centered around a religion whose God, Iam, a name I assume will mean more later, controls which vessels may recieve souls—a luxury most Garren are not afforded. From its Final Fantasy-like summoning to X-Men style powers, to especially creative lands, Laura Hughes' Evolution of Us was a terrific read. Once again, I felt it was a bit rushed, but all in all, I enjoyed it. A definite nearly 4-star read. Check it out and let me know what you think downstairs!

MOVIES
The Batman Comes to Theaters in 2019.
My take: Ben Affleck will be starring in, and possibly directing, this sequel to Batman vs. Superman: Dawn of Justice. I'll be more interested after seeing what DC's long-term plans are. Is Arrow part of their continuity, and thus The Flash? I need to know what I'm investing my passion in here, because right now DC/WB seem to be a mess.
Star Wars: Episode VII vs. Jedi Hunters?
My take: It looks like the new Star Wars movie will be delving into old territory. It's possible "Order 66" is back in action, as the team might be fighting Jedi hunters of some kind. I actually don't care what the plot is. The original movies plots can be summed up in one sentence, but the actual movies are exciting and engaging as hell. So, J.J., make that happen again.
Shane Black's Predator to be a Sequel, not Reboot.
My take: Good, there's no need for a redesign of one of the most iconic villains in movie history. The franchise may not be strong, but fans are very forgiving for a series with little to work with aside from a well-designed movie monster.
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Full Trailer.
My take: SPOILER ALERT?
We got a teaser image, now a full Shredder in action in a new TMNT trailer. The suit is completely ridiculous with its launchable blades that literally return to their point of origin to be launched again. What?? Yes. Also, do they seriously kill Master Splinter? Also, I'm not big on the voice acting of the turtles. I'm scared that Megan Fox is looking to be the best part of this movie right now.
TELEVISION
Gotham Villains Taking the Spotlight.
My take: Between The Riddler, Catwoman, Pengiun, and Poison Ivy, is this show more about the super villain than the cop named Gordon? It also seems remove the age-old question of whether Batman exists out of a need or the villains exist because of Batman.
COMIC BOOKS
Death of Wolverine Alternate Covers Overkill.
My take: Marvel is really milking A) a book that nobody asked for and B) a concept nobody buys into. This story seems like a lose-lose for Marvel and fans alike. The open marketing of the story (see: the spoiler right there in the title) and the promise that it will "stick" for some time have fans divided. Is this story even necessary?
Afterlife with Archie Finally Read…By Me.
My take: I know this is a little behind, but I was holding out on purchasing 3rd and 4th prints of the single issues for the TPB. I'm finally caught up on one of the biggest books of the year. It's a slow-paced story but flows along at a creepy pace. There are piles of nods to the original books, and it's nice knowing these already established characters. It allows no need for an explanation of relationships and motives. Definitely worth picking up if you heart can take the tragedy that befalls Riverdale.
X-Books Cancelled?
My take: No. This week, some stupid rumor got started on the forum website Comic Book Resources (the page has since been deleted) that stated the books were being axed. Somehow the story grew and, due to the attention The Fantastic Four has been getting, everyone got up in arms about it. The bottom line is that neither the X-books or the F-books are going anywhere.
HOLLYWOOD
George Lucas Opening Museum in 2018.
My take: The announcement was made with zero mention of Star Wars or Indiana Jones memorabilia. Not to gloss over the important works that will likely end up being displayed, but he knows his name is synonymous with Star Wars, right?
North Korea Threatens "Merciless" War On U.S. Over James Franco and Seth Rogen's Kim Jong-Un Assassination Comedy
North Korea is anything but laughing at the upcoming action-comedy starring James Franco and Seth Rogen, whose trailer is pretty straightforward—attempt to assassinate Kim Jong-un. The Interview stars may have gotten more than they bargained for, causing the North Korean government to threaten a "merciless" war on the United States.
A North Korean Foreign Ministry spokesman told the country's state-run news agency that "The enemies have gone beyond the tolerance limit in their despicable moves to dare hurt the dignity of the supreme leadership."
In The Interview, directed by Evan Goldberg and Seth Rogen, Franco and Rogen play two celebrity tabloid journalists who travel to Pyongyang for an exclusive interview with North Korean dictator, Kim Jong-un, prompting the CIA to recruit the pair to assassinate the leader.
"Making and releasing a movie on a plot to hurt our top-level leadership is the most blatant act of terrorism and war and will absolutely not be tolerated," the North Korean spokesman raged, saying it would bring "merciless counter-measures," BBC News reported.
North Korea's threats don't come lightly—evidence has showed that the isolated country has apparently been further developing its nuclear weapons program, which have been used to threaten neighboring countries, according to CNN. Earlier this year, the United Nations released a detailed list of crimes North Korea has committed against its own people in prison camps, including torture, murder, sexual violence, and mass starvation.
The trailer draws on many North Korean stereotypes, calling it the "most dangerous country on Earth," briefing the two journalists that North Koreans will believe anything their leader tells them—including that he can speak to dolphins and doesn't urinate or defecate.
"Wanna go kill Kim Jung-un?"
"Totally, I'd love to assassinate Kim Jong-un. It's a date!"
Rogen comedically took to Twitter on Wednesday in response to the backlash his film produced:
Rogen told Yahoo Movies that the film's plot sprang from a legitimate premise, stating, "People have the hypothetical discussion about how journalists have access to the world's most dangerous people, and they hypothetically would be in a good situation to assassinate them."
Comedic shots at the North Korean leadership is nothing new—the 2004 film, Team America: World Police, depicted Kim Jon-il as an insecure madman puppet.
Of course, no one wants to be the target of a fictional assassination, but North Korea is notorious for its thin skin when it comes to comedy, or anything negative against it or its leader, for that matter. In recent news, a London hair salon provoked Korean backlash by displaying a photo of Kim Jong-un with "Bad hair day?" to advertise a 15 percent discount on men's haircuts throughout April.
The 2002 James Bond film Die Another Day also caught the attention of North Korea, which attacked the film for "insulting the Korean nation." In the film, James Bond is taken prisoner in North Korea and tortured for 14 months, emerging as a darker, semi-renegade man.
"The U.S. should stop at once the dirty and cursed burlesque aims to slander," the North Korea's official KCNA news agency told The New York Times in December 2002. The news agency also said the film was evidence that the United States is "the root cause of all disasters and misfortune of the Korean nation" and is the "real empire of evil."
The Interview is expected to be in theaters in October.
What do you guys think? Still planning on seeing the film when it comes out? Let us know in the comment section below.
Microsoft: Trade in Macbook Air for Discount on Surface Pro 3. Is It Worth The Bargain?
Microsoft has a special offer, and they're targeting specifically Macbook users. The company is offering a $650 in-store credit on their Surface Pro 3—that is, if you're willing to trade in your perfectly good Macbook Air.
The offer is only good until July 31 when you trade in certain models, which need to be in good working condition, but the fine-print terms are vague and don't say which models are actually valid.
Microsoft conveniently offers a comparison of their tablet to the Macbook Air, but in the full picture, it doesn't seem as though the tablet holds up as a good contender to the Macbook, even if it has been cleverly slated as a laptop replacement that can do everything a Macbook can do—and more.
The Macbook Air starts at $899 for an 11-inch model with 128GB flash storage and goes up to $1199 for the top-end 13-inch with 256GB of flash storage. The Surface Pro 3 comes with a 12-inch screen and starts at $799 for only 64GB storage, but you need to purchase the $130 Type Cover keyboard separately to get the tablet's full function—making the lowest price $930. By that, it only leaves you with a $70 difference between the 13-inch Macbook Air with 128GB flash storage. A 256GB Pro 3 will cost you $1,549—$350 more expensive than a 13-inch Macbook Air with the same configuration, and that doesn't even include the Type Cover!
Although they both have some similarities in hardware and strive to cram in an entire desktop in the lightest and slimmest portable device, the key difference between the Macbook Air and the Pro 3 is the display quality. The Surface Pro 3's display has a 2160 x 1440 (216 ppi) resolution, whereas the 13-inch Macbook Air's display has a 1440 x 900 (128 ppi) resolution, and it's even lower on the 11-inch Air. The Pro 3 also has a battery life of 9 hours, whereas the Macbook Air has up to 12 hours.
Sure, the better screen resolution, slightly lighter tablet (Microsoft boasts its 2.4 pounds as opposed to 2.96 pounds), and a touchscreen with a detachable keyboard may make the Surface Pro 3 attractive, but you're not really getting a good deal for your buck.
Even if you traded in your perfectly functioning Macbook Air to get the full discount, the cheapest Surface Pro 3 would come with half the memory, shorter battery life, and you'd still have to purchase the keyboard. Nice try, Microsoft.
The only benefit of this promotion is actually making people talk about both products. (I see what you did there, Microsoft. Kudos.)
Microsoft isn't new to promising consumers a good deal if they ditched their current devices for new Microsoft ones. In January, they ran a promotion that offered $100 off the Xbox One if you ditched your PS3.
What do you guys think? Are you holding on to your Macbook Air, or are you debating whether the Surface Pro 3 is the way to go? Let us know in the comment section below.
10. Cara Delevingne
Now I know virtually nothing about this person, and the name isn't one where you go "Oh yeah, that chick," but according to Maxim she hails from the United Kingdom. She has been gracing the catalogs of Victoria's Secret for a couple of years now and even has appearances in the films Anna Karenina and The Face of An Angel. Not only is this stunning young woman a model and actress, she plays drums and sings as well. In 2013 she recorded an acoustic duet cover version of "Sonnentanz" with Will Heard, an Austrian dance and electronica song originally recorded by a duo called duo Klangkarussell. Cara will have a small role in the upcoming fantasy film Pan. Let's see if this British bombshell will stand the test of time or if she is just a flash in the pan.9. Mila Kunis
Don't let the fact that she is currently carrying Ashton Kutcher's baby distract you from the fact that she is damn near every man's dream girl. Bursting into the scene at a very young age on the hit FOX TV show That 70s Show, Mila has been winning the hearts of teenagers and men ever since. With a very lengthy and successful movie career after the show's finale, Mila has been a consistent staple on the Maxim HOT 100. It is no surprise that she is a repeat in the top 10 again this year. In 2013 she ranked 4th overall on this list, and she is still a bombshell despite her annoying other half. Mila has showed us her range of acting ability from movies such as Forgetting Sarah Marshall all the way to The Swan. With her range of acting and stunning looks, expect to see Mila Kunis on the Hot 100 for years to come. 8. Jessica Alba

She's 33, has two kids, and has been appearing in films for over a decade. Jessica Alba is still breaking the hearts of millions of fans and turning them on faster than the roadrunner can run. Smoking hot and reprising her role in the Sin City sequel, Alba has made it on the HOT 100 yet again. There's no denying her beauty and charm. With a list of accolades that could fill up an entire forum, Jessica Alba continues to win over the male fan base and graces this year's top 10. I'm willing to place money Alba breaks into the top 10 for a few more years and won't leave the list for even longer. Long live Sue Storm!!
7. Alessandra Ambrosio
Here's another woman when you say her name, I scratch my head and say "Who the hell is that?" Apparently men have been purchasing a;lot of Victoria's Secret catalogs this year and pay close attention to the modeling events they have been having, because like her competition in spot number 10, Alessandra is a Victoria's Secret model from Brazil and a spokeswoman for the clothing line PINK. Just looking at some of the photo shoots she has done in the past I can understand why she broke into the top 10, but if you had asked me on the spot to rank the ten sexiest women hers would not be a name that popped in my head. So cheers to all the dudes out there still using Victoria's Secret catalogs…good to know the magazine business is safe from technology.
6. Zooey Deschanel

Ahh, back to a name I actually know. The weird thing about our number 6 on the list is she was in the back 25 of last year's list. Zooey has always had that quirkiness that all guys adore, usually reminding us of that girl we fell in love with in high school. She has not, however, been labeled as a bombshell. So keeping in theme with the sensitive male this year who reads a lot of Victoria's Secret catalogs, I am very glad to see my girl Zooey breaking into the top 10. Like I said before, she is very cute and has that personality that relates to guys, so she is a keeper in my book. Definitely worthy of the Number 6 spot on the list. Time for the top 5!
5. Jennifer Lawrence
I'm just gonna start off by saying this: How is she not number 1? Over the past few years Jennifer Lawrence has gone above and beyond the call when it comes to stealing hearts and being just an awesome chick. After making kickass movies like American Hustle, X-men, and The Hunger Games, she has found a very large audience of men to fall head over heels to get her. For crying out loud, in X-Men she's wearing nothing but blue! In several interviews she has given us glimpses into her life outside of acting, and she is hands-down the coolest woman in Hollywood today. Yes, she belongs in the top 10, but I really feel like 2014 should have been her year at number 1. Get your heads outta your asses and into the game next year, boys.4. Irina Shayk

We are faced yet again with the simple conclusion that men are doing more reading than they should be this year. Irina is a Russian swimsuit model who has been gracing magazines since her debut in 2007 with Sports Illustrated. Not much more is known about this model except that she's a model through and through. She will make her acting debut alongside The Rock in July's release of Hercules.
3. Katy Perry

If I had to make a safe bet, I'd say Elmo and all his pals at Sesame Street sat in front of a computer and continuously voted for the busty singing bombshell. Number 3 is the girl who kissed a girl and liked it, then decided to hang around and become a huge pop icon. Rocking us with singles such as Roar, I Kissed a Girl, and Firework, Katy Perry has been stealing hearts of teenage boys and even some of my close friends for years. It's no surprise that when these teenage boys finally got into their early 20s they would skyrocket her up the list to number 3!
2. Scarlett Johansson

In the famous words of former WWE World Heavyweight Champion Daniel Bryan: "Yes! Yes! Yes!" Scarlett Johansen has had a very busy schedule this year, including being a staple in the Marvel Cinematic Universe playing Black Widow as well as a hottie in several other movies like Don Jon. She has even had the ability to make men tingle with joy with just her voice in the movie Her. Scarlett Johansson has turned out to be the perfect package. Even though I still believe Jennifer Lawrence should have been number 1 this year, Scarlett would have been nipping at her heels at number 2 on my list. She is every nerd's fantasy. Now for the much anticipated number 1!
1. Candice Swanepoel
Who? Don't worry I had the same reaction until I Googled her picked up the issue of Maxim. Hailing from South Africa, she is one of the top-earning models in the world to date. She has modeled for just about any designer or company trying to sell something. There's no surprise that she fell into number 1 spot; her face, and body, are plastered everywhere through out the world. I had no idea who this woman was, but after seeing her pictures, she definitely belongs on the list. To me, though, she's still not a number 1. Nevertheless, it's not Dace's HOT 100, it's Maxim's, and she is the queen of 2014! Congratulations!

Edgar Ramirez recently hinted at a possible role in the upcoming Doctor Strange film by saying that he was talking to director Scott Derrickson about it. While that's not much to base any sort of a confirmation on, it's at least interesting enough to spark some speculation. If Edgar Ramirez were to be someone in the film, who would that character be?
Naturally, the first thing people can run to is that he'd play Stephen Strange himself. I can't quite see that happening. We here at Fanboys Anonymous recently did an edition of Fanboys Cast for Doctor Strange and in retrospect, I still can't see Ramirez being a better fit than anyone we suggested.
Clearly, Ramirez would not be playing Clea, Wong, or The Ancient One, so that doesn't leave many other options to choose from. If he's playing some extra character they created specifically for the movie (Ã la Darcy in Thor), then that would be virtually impossible to predict. However, if he ends up being someone noteworthy from the comics, then the possible roles are limited.
Dormammu and Baron Mordo seems like the most obvious choice for a villain duo in the movie, to the point where it'd basically be ludicrous to do anyone else. Ramirez has enough of a resemblance to Karl Mordo to be able to pull him off, not to mention that he's right at that popularity level where he's somewhat of a name, though not big enough to be a huge paycheck. That's a big bonus for Marvel to go after, rather than targeting someone like Joaquin Phoenix, who has been mentioned numerous times in fan casts for the part.
That being said, this could all be total nonsense that leads nowhere. There's nothing to indicate that any contracts have been signed, nor have there been any official announcements. Until then:
Fanboys Anonymous will be appearing at the Too Many Games convention on June 27-29, 2014 at the Greater Philadelphia Expo Center.

Another trailer for the upcoming Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles film has been released and it shows more footage about the plot than before, rather than just rehashing the same sequences with a slight edit. Check it out below:
The city needs heroes. Darkness has settled over New York City as Shredder and his evil Foot Clan have an iron grip on everything from the police to the politicians. The future is grim until four unlikely outcast brothers rise from the sewers and discover their destiny as Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. The Turtles must work with fearless reporter April and her wise-cracking cameraman Vern Fenwick to save the city and unravel Shredder's diabolical plan.
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles will be released in theaters August 8, 2014.
Hey, hey, hey Dacetacular Nation! The Dace Man has even more news for you today when it comes to the world of comics! The highly anticipated movie Guardians of the Galaxy is set to release in a little over a month and a man yet to have his role revealed is Firefly's Nathan Fillon.
Now keep in mind all of what appears on the internet is usually speculation and nothing is really confirmed until the Movie hits theaters for the audiences to view. With this in mind, Schmoes Know is reporting that Nathon Fillon will be doing voiceover work for Cosmo the psychotic Russian dog that appears in the comics.
What do you think of this rumor currently circulating the internet? Is this a good fit for Nathan? Were you hoping he was going to be cast as Nova of the Nova Corps? Sound off here on Fanboys Anonymous and keep in mind this tweet....

Several months later, McQueen is finally speaking up on the tweet he posted, sending us nerds into a frenzy. Here's what Steven had to say to The Wrap.

McQueen below, and make sure you sound off on your thoughts of Nightwing finally making a television or movie screen debut!"It's a great story that hasn't really been told. You know, if I get the chance to play a superhero, I can't make any promises that I'm not going to run with it."

What is up Dacetacular Nation? Chris "The Dace Man" Dace is back with some breaking news on Star Wars Episode VII! So from what we know so far, the original cast from the initial Star Wars movies will be back and reprising their roles, as well as a handful of a younger new generation of stars to carry the franchise. So with those key players in place, who will antagonize our band of heroes 30 years after the fall of the empire? Will a new Sith Lord rise from Palpetine's ashes? Will a dark force from the past reemerge? What lies ahead on the rumor market? Well Fanboys Anonymous has their ears close to the keyboards on this one and here is the latest rumors on Star Wars Episode VII.
According to the site, Latino Review, there has been ramblings of the potential introduction to live action of both the Mandelorians and a group of 'Sith Witches.' For those of you unaware of the Mandelorian race, they were a race of great warriors of which fan favorite Boba Fett is a decedent of. As for the 'Sith Withces,' they were famously introduced in the Clone Wars series that aired on Cartoon Network who were responsible for three villians within that series, one of which being Episode I's main antagonist, Darth Maul.
So what do you think, is it long overdue for their appearance on the big screen? Have the Mandelorians finally gotten their big break they deserved? Lastly, will Luke tango with these 'Sith Witches' on the big screen and meet a fate like Old Ben? Stay close to Fanboys Anonymous as we bring you all the latest news about Star Wars Episode VII!

New DC Movie "The Batman" Coming in 2019, Directed by Ben Affleck?
Several days ago we posted an article detailing a rumored release schedule for Warner Bros.' DC Comics films, beginning with Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice in 2016 and ending with Man of Steel 2 in 2018. In between were films setting up the larger Justice League franchise, Wonder Woman, and a few other heroes. Some sites (like ours) noticed a missing piece in that puzzle: no new Batman franchise. Well, we might have an answer now. Rumor is that a new franchise will begin in 2019 with a film simply entitled, The Batman.
While Ben Affleck will be playing the Dark Knight in the shared universe WB/DC is attempting to build, acting is almost his second job, these days. After disappearing for a few years, he turned to directing and made a splash with his debut feature, Gone Baby Gone. His second feature, The Town, did respectably and his third feature, Argo, went and won the Academy Award for Best Picture in 2012. He's in a position to do just about anything he wants, so it looks like he's decided to have his cake and eat it, too. Clearly, he has a good working relationship with the folks at Warner Bros., who distributed his last two films (again, including a Best Picture winner) and who have since hired him to play one of their most lucrative characters.
The delay on a solo Batman film until 2019 is due to Warner Bros. letting Affleck have some latitude as a director as well — his next film, Live by Night, is slated to drop in October 2016, just a few months after Batman v Superman drops in May. Theoretically, after he finishes filming Batman v Superman, he'll go to work on Live by Night, which should be in post-production around the time Justice League heats up. Once that's done, he'll be set to step back into all of Bruce Wayne's suits.
Slashfilm suggests The Batman could also be open for Affleck to direct as his Live by Night follow-up, which I think is a smart call. Affleck has been bitten by the directing bug, and from what I've seen it's something he's good at. Putting him in near-total charge of what is, again, a hugely important franchise for Warner Bros. could be a risky move, but it could also be a chance for a creator to really spread his cape and do something tremendous. It would have to be, following in the footsteps of Christopher Nolan's already legendary take on the Caped Crusader.
What do you think? Are we pro- or anti-Batfleck, at this point? Is it as bad an idea to have him direct a DC film like Batman as it was to cast him as the Bat, or are you hopeful he can pull this off? I'm hopeful. Disagree with me. Go on. Leave it all in the comments below.
The Empire Strikes Out for Star Wars Night at the Coca-Cola Stadium in Buffalo
Normally a trip to Buffalo is not nearly enough to excite me; however, last weekend was the Buffalo Bisons' annual Star Wars baseball game.
Star Wars and baseball, together at last.
Last year, I thought it was a joke: a cruel, horrible, twisted joke that was being played on me when I was told about this annual themed game the Buffalo team organizes to raise money for charity. Of course I went, and of course it blew my mind, so when I had the opportunity to go back, I made the Kessel run (for my credit card) in less than 12 parsecs. I timed it.
First thing I noticed when I got there was home plate.

My friends left me to get frosty beverages (beer) and this happened:

| Darth Vader? More like Darth Vendor |
Speaking of epic, at the seventh inning stretch, Darth himself took over the mic and belted out a breathy rendition of "Take Me Out To The Ballgame."

I tried my best, but I couldn't get my companions to geek out with me until the very end. Part of our ticket package included a "lazer sword," and my friend Tea immediately took it because it lit up and made sounds. After the game, she ran behind her boyfriend Kyle and took every opportunity she could to stab him with it.

What about you guys? Have you even been to one of the themed night in Buffalo or anywhere else? Tell me all about it: I'm always looking for neat stuff like that.
