I'm nowhere near the biggest gamer in the world, as I haven't owned a console since the PlayStation 2, but I've been a big fan of the Marvel Ultimate Alliance games that had been out. I played and beat both of them with some friends and I was always eagerly awaiting a third installment of the franchise, which is FINALLY happening on the Nintendo Switch.

My first thoughts immediately went to wondering which heroes you'd be able to choose from, as I'm hoping to see the biggest, most in-depth roster that they've ever had, so I figured I'd go ahead and draft up my preferred list.

Like everybody, I have my tastes, and your favorite might be left off my list. But if that's the case, by all means, drop a comment below and tell me who you feel are the biggest omissions.

Without further ado, here is my fantasy list of characters you should be able to play as, broken down by several tiers of importance and such.


A-Tier

These people can be selected from the very start and absolutely must be in the game. No debate:

• Black Panther
• Black Widow
• Captain America 
• Captain Marvel (Carol Danvers)
• Cyclops
• Daredevil
• Doctor Strange (unless his powers are too hard to play and then he's an NPC)
• Hawkeye
• Hulk
• Human Torch
• Invisible Woman
• Iron Man 
• Luke Cage 
• Mr. Fantastic
• Scarlet Witch
• Spider-Man
• Silver Surfer 
• Storm
• The Thing
• Thor
• Wolverine
• Vision

B-Tier

These people SHOULD be guarantees, but I just can't rank them as high as the A-Tier people:

• Colossus
• Deadpool
• Drax
• Falcon
• Gambit
• Gamora
• Ghost Rider
• Groot
• Iceman
• Iron Fist
• Jessica Jones
• Punisher
• Quicksilver
• Rocket Raccoon
• Star-Lord 
• Spider-Woman
• Winter Soldier

C-Tier

Now we're stretching it for people who are on the bubble of being cut. They'd be interesting, but I could see them being too low on the priority scale, and if you had to choose, there are lots of options above who are more important:

• Beast
• Blue Marvel
• Cable
• Elektra
• Jubilee
• Mockingbird
• Moon Knight
• Rogue

DLC Extras

These characters are too powerful and/or intriguing to be chosen right out of the gate and should be reserved for special downloadable packs:

• Agent Venom (and/or Venom)
• Deathlok
• Doctor Doom
• Jean Grey / Phoenix or Emma Frost (not both)
• Magneto
• Namor 
• Nightcrawler
• Psylocke
• Ronin
• Sentry
• She-Hulk (because you already have Hulk, Gamora, Jessica Jones, etc, and we want people to want to buy this, so she's an enticing character for people to want to purchase)
• War Machine (because you already have Iron Man)
• Wonder Man

Non-Playable Characters

These heroes should appear somewhere as assistants or storyline parts, but not be options to pick from to play as. Simply put, you can't play as a million people, but these heroes are still important enough that I'd like to see them included in a NPC fashion, at least:

• Adam Warlock
• Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. (Nick Fury, Maria Hill, Phil Coulson, Dum Dum Dugan, FitzSimmons, etc)
• Amadeus Cho
• Ant-Man and The Wasp (I figure the gameplay would be too hard to figure out with their size shifting)
• Blade and Morbius (some kind of zombie level)
• Cloak and Dagger
• Doc Samson
• Guardians of the Galaxy (not enough room for Nebula, Mantis, Yondu)
• Hercules
• H.E.R.B.I.E.
• Inhumans (nobody really wants to play as Black Bolt or Crystal or Medusa, right? Include them and the others like Karnak and Lockjaw as some side quest and that's it)
• Lady Sif and The Warriors Three 
• Living Tribunal
• The Nova Corps
• Odin
• The One Above All
• Pepper Potts
• Professor Charles Xavier
• Shuri
• Uatu
• X-Men extras = Angel, Kitty Pryde
• Younger heroes (by this, I mean maybe there's a mission that deals with helping out Ironheart, Kamala Khan, X-23, Miles Morales, etc)
