Nintendo Reveals Two New Fighters (and One Returning Fighter) in Super Smash Bros. | Fanboys Anonymous
This morning Nintendo took to YouTube for a Super Smash Bros. character reveal, and fans have been wondering just who the new playable character(s) would be since this reveal was announced last week. Well now we have our answer: Nintendo has decided to show some more love to the Fire Emblem series by revealing Robin (either male or female) and Lucina from Fire Emblem Awakening.

I have to admit I don't know much about the Fire Emblem series and I honestly didn't even know who those two were at first, but after seeing them in action, I do think they seem like good additions to Marth and Ike, the other confirmed characters from Fire Emblem. Lucina seems to be more of a straightforward sword fighter, but Robin looks more interesting in that he seems to be a swordsman who relies more on magic than basic swordplay. Although I have my typical standard characters, I'm looking forward to trying out all the new ones, these two included.

The new characters definitely look good, but I'm actually more excited about the fact that Nintendo finally decided to reveal good old Captain Falcon! He's one of my favorite fighters and I was getting a little worried since Nintendo hadn't said anything about him after all this time.

Here's the reveal trailer for anyone who hasn't seen it. Nintendo has confirmed that Chrom, the character at the end, will not actually be a playable fighter. I would guess he'll most likely be an assist trophy.

I don't know about you guys, but I'm a huge fan of the anime art style of a lot of these reveal trailers, and I would LOVE to see an actual Super Smash Bros. anime. Make it happen, Nintendo!

What do you guys think? Are you excited about these additions or disappointed? Were you hoping for different characters? Sound off in the comments below, and be sure to check out what the authors are up to here at Fanboys Anonymous!
