Fanboys All-Time Favorite Photobomb Countdown

Posted by Fellonius Munch - Thursday, February 20, 2014

Welcome, Fanboys, to a countdown unlike any other, a visual experience for which there is no sane explanation. Fanboys Anonymous kindly presents to you, and anybody you snuck in with you, a list of all-time favorite photobombs!

The humble photobomb: Is it a cry for attention? A means of stealing thunder? Is it simply a matter of odds that when somebody snaps a photo of one celebrity, another just happens to be lurking in the background, grinning mischievously? Or is it all just a sick ruse to ruin a perfectly boring or badly planned portrait?

Seinfeld character George Costanza (Jason Alexander) accidentally photobombs his employer's family on holiday

It really depends on the moment, and as I take you through the many different methods of photobombing so perfected by those of film and television that we know and love, maybe you too will be famous one day and will know the true art of bombing.

Onwards!

Terminator Arnold Schwarzenegger photobomb
"You're damaged goods, lady!"
First off, Ahhnold here is as casual as a pensioner waiting for a bus, which makes it funny because he's at an awards evening and dressed to thrill. The look on his face says he couldn't give a damn about what's happening over his shoulder; he could be thinking about a sandwich and he'd still look more interesting than the woman who looks as though she's just been hit in the head by that aforementioned bus. The ex-Governator is hugely known these days, aside from his movie comeback, for his hilarious videos splashed all over the Internet, proving that he is indeed quite the mischievous mind beneath the serious exterior.

WWE superstar and Fast & Furious actor Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson framed in selfie photobomb
This right here is an example of how to and how not to photobomb!

Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson is a boss at pretty much everything he does. He entertains the WWE like a boss, he entertains moviegoers like a boss, he bodybuilds like a boss, he eats pancakes like a boss, and he handles this quick photo opportunity like a boss, too.

Johnson treats this photobomb like it is, but dammit people, despite what Google likes to think is a photobomb, the guy taking the photograph should know better. You cannot photobomb yourself. It defeats the purpose of being photobombed. This should be called a Selfiebomb, if anything!

Sam Raimi Spider-man Green Goblin actor Willem Dafoe photobombs Beyonce Knowles and Jay Z
Poor poor Jay-Z, you make this photo, and only because Willem Dafoe just might make you cry!

Of course, Jay-Z and Beyonce have no idea (yet) that former Spider-man Green Goblin and all-round psycho nutball actor Dafoe is incorporating the classic schoolboy method into this marvelous photobomb opportunity. What would you do if you caught Dafoe sticking fingers up behind your head and grinning maniacally? I imagine some might weep fearfully, as much as this guy rocks!

Marvel's new Ant-Man Hank Pym actor Michael Douglas photobombs wife Catherine Zeta Jones Douglas and Angeline Jolie
This instance of movie legend Michael Douglas's head sandwiched between his wife and Angelina Jolie is hilarious because his funny melty old man face is suggestive of so many things!

Is he just confused and missed a regular photo opportunity? I imagine, during red carpet events, that whenever a camera flashes, everybody suddenly wakes up in a panic and bares teeth. Maybe he knows what he's doing though. Maybe he's saying, "yeah, I'm tapping that!" Maybe the future Ant-man movie's Hank Pym thinks he's getting a threesome!

Marvel villain Loki actor Tom Hiddleston creeps in on fan's celebrity selfie photo
Undoubtedly, the greatest villain in Marvel movie history, Loki just cannot let it lie!

The terminally charming British actor that is Tom Hiddleston is no stranger to practical jokery after playing the Asgardian god of mischief, Loki, in Marvel's The Avengers and the two Thor movies. What we have here, however, is an expert in photobombing in the making.

When one actor photobombs another, it can be a mite predictable. It can look like a cry for attention. Of course, there is another actor in this photo, and this may not have been an intended photobomb. Yet Hiddleston appears like a ghost, expertly taking up what little headroom exists, almost as though he just knows how funny this will look. It leaves me wondering…

Somewhere out there, Loki is creeping in on teenagers' nightclub selfies!

Marvel's Ghost Rider Johnny Blaze actor Nicolas Cage supermarket photobomb
What on Earth is happening here, do you suppose? I spent a while trying to read this photobomb and couldn't quite interpret the situation!

My first impression, a random woman is having a photo taken in a supermarket, holding a baby in the wine aisle. She doesn't know that the Ghost Rider, Nicolas Cage, is casually collecting sunglasses to line his shirt collar.

My second impression is that Nic Cage doesn't do low-profile, so a random photo session was in order, capturing him in what can only be described as a Cagebomb.

Joss Whedon's Firefly and Castle TV star Nathan Fillion is the master of the photobomb
If any Fanboy out there is familiar with photobombs, he ought to be aware that one of the great modern masters of the art is Firefly and Castle's Nathan Fillion!

The actor has led a blessed life, being hailed by fans as the man to play any and every lead role in every comic book adaptation, and thankfully never being asked. It's probably because everybody knows him as that guy who's always ruining our photos.

Here, Fillion executes his patented Ragebomb!

Scrubs Turk actor Donald Faison photobombs Tom Cruise
One endless debate about Hollywood celebrities is the questionable temper of Mission: Impossible actor Tom Cruise!

I say questionable because Tom has spent his entire life in the limelight and has been prone to some strange behavior. Nobody wants to know about his personal life, but he loves to tell us all about it, usually through Oprah. If there's one thing we're sure of, it's that he doesn't like people shadowing him or making him look a bit silly.

So here's a Turkbomb from Scubs' own comic genius Donald Faison to steal Cruise's day of thunder…see what I did there?

Firefly's Hoban Washburne actor Alan Tudyk pranks Nathan Fillion
This particular photobomb is not only a classic example of fellow Firefly crew-member Alan Tudyk's disgusting behavior (how could you, Wash?) and his execution of what's known as The Boogerbomb: pretending to pick his nose at the sight of a camera lens!

As a matter of fact, this is a two-way photobomb, because photobombing master Nathan Fillion is actually displaying an uncanny ability to deflect Tudyk's nose-picking antics just with the power of a sideways smile.

Boogerbomb versus Fillion-bomb. Canada versus Texas. It's like the Rocky IV of photobombs. The funniest fact is that neither actor is aware of the gravity of their silly awesomeness blurring the lens!

Foo Fighters frontman expertly photobombs Taylor Lautner
Dave Grohl, one of the greatest songwriters of our time, is not what we would call outrageous. Not by comparison with today's celebrities that go into meltdown whenever people get tired of reading about their other meltdowns!

The Foo Fighter and former Nirvana drummer is known for his penchant for silliness, though. All you have to do is watch his music videos and other peoples' videos he has appeared in (Tenacious D).

Here is Dave destroying the beautiful celebrity people with one swift Grohlbomb. Awesome!

Star Trek's Scotty Simon Pegg photobombs Tom Cruise at a Mission Impossible movie promo event
Remember what I said about not knowing whether Tom Cruise is just going to keep grinning or rain ungodly fire upon us? Okay, I didn't quite say it that way, but when you look at this photo, you believe that the cracks just might begin to appear soon!

The hilarious Simon Pegg is reportedly good friends with Cruise (for some reason posing with a model on each arm for this photo session). Yet when he strutted out in front of Cruise, literally leaving the short man in his shadow, I wonder if Pegg was left regretting this amazing Swaggerbomb...

Castle actor Nathan Fillion celebrity photobombs
The Fillion Ragebomb Mk II

Comedy actor Neil Flynn photobombs a family picture at an LA ball game
Another member of the Scrubs alumni here puts Turk to shame with his unforgettable steely-eyed glare during a game!

Neil Flynn, who played Sacred Heart Hospitals janitor, was known largely for his deadpan comedy. The reason he did it so well? Let's just say that if battle-weary soldiers had "the thousand yard stare," then The Janitor had what you would call "the thousand mile stare."

Flynn puts that piercing stare to great use in this one-in-a-million chance to come between family. That face has me in stitches every time, and it's mostly for the fact that I don't even think the person taking the photo knows what's happening here. Superman might be able to fly around the world at lightning speeds, but he'll never perfect a photobomb like this!

Late Blues Brothers star John Belushi insults Chevy Chase on camera during Saturday Night Live
Time for a classic photobomb from back in the day!

Comedy actor Chevy Chase has had his ups and downs throughout his career. Aside from Saturday Night Live (where even Bill Murray almost ruined him) and a handful of 80s comedies, the ups have been going down ever since. And it wasn't only Murray slapping the lips off his reputation's face.

Here, in the background, the face connected to the hand flipping the bird at Chevy Chase belongs to none other than late comedy legend and Blues Brother John Belushi. Before succumbing to one speedball too many (one, that is all it takes), the riotous funnyman didn't only terrorize his audience, he terrorized the very people he shared the stage with!

Forrest Gump actor and comedian Tom Hanks takes photos with sleeping drunk student
Penultimately, one of the greatest photobombs of all time happened last year, in 2013, when Tom Hanks just happened to be in the right place, at the right time, and in the right mind!

When this student passed out drunk one night, he awoke the next day to find a series of photos of him sleeping at a pub table, while a guy that looked like Forrest Gump made fun of him.

Yes, it was Tom Hanks, who saw the boy passed out in his pizza and couldn't refuse himself the opportunity. Tombomb?

AMC's Walking Dead Daryl Dixon actor Norman Reedus photobombs a celeb fan photoshoot with the cast of Game of Thrones

What can you say about this? It's Fanboys Anonymous's top celebrity photobomb, above all others, for many reasons. Ladies and gentlemen, Fanboys and Fangirls, AMC's The Walking Dead's very own Norman Reedus aka Daryl Dixon isn't known for hilarity, as much as he is the target of a prank or two himself!

So when the enigmatic sex-symbol of so many girls today (who don't realize he's almost twice their age) nimbly swoops down into the fray like an absolute freakin' ninja grandmaster photobomber, it isn't just an opportunity to be cheeky. It isn't even just a matter of declaring "Suck it Game of Thrones!"

The beautifully marbled background, the amount of posing going on in this photo, Peter Dinklage aka Tyrion Lannister being all serious and sophisticated with his beard and sun tan…this is a true photobombing work of art. This is today's equivalent of, say, if William Shakespeare were mooning Mona Lisa from behind with BITE ME written across his buttcheeks. Mr. Reedus, we salute you!

Slither star Nathan Fillion Guardians of the Galaxy director James Gunn and Ellen Page promoting Super
No, Nathan, it's over. I'm sorry, not this year.
Sound off, Fanboys! I hope you enjoyed our photobomb countdown. If you know of any more that should have made this list, comment below and we may gather enough for another list. Thanks for reading as always.

Continuing the vlogging whilst touring as a former fashion model, Tessa is known for humorous videos with fast cutting. Kind of like fred, but actually funny and not annoying. Her claim to fame is most likely the video Star Trek Girl that debuted on her channel in 2011 and skyrocketed her popularity. With vlogs like that and a Star Trek video, no wonder we witness Tessa joining the 2014 Internet Goddess Tournament.

Melonie Mac (Gamer, Artist, YouTube Personality)

Amber Lee Ettinger (YouTube Personality)

When Barack Obama made his way on to the national scene Barely Political rose to the occasion, and with their talents and Amber's beauty, "Obama Girl" was born. The role got her attention nationally and even landed her a guest spot on Saturday Night Live! There is no doubt in anyone's mind that Amber Lee Ettinger was the queen of 2008 election sketches, but will she be the 2014 Internet Goddess Champion?

So who wins the battle of the Barely Political Girls? Ke$ha's Double? Or Obama Girl?

Week in Geek: February 19th, 2014

Posted by Jeff Penner

Want to know what happened the past few days in nerd culture? WEEK IN GEEK is your quick fix to catch up with the rest of the Fanboys out there.

Nerdy current events in geek culture for this week

MOVIES

Guardians of the Galaxy trailer hit the Internet.

My take: Why are you still here? Go watch it now! Ever since Dan Abnett and Andy Lanning graced the Marvel Universe with their take on their cosmic heroes back in 2008, this movie was imminent. If you want a true saga of humor and action, check out their series Nova and the Annihilation saga.

Robocop reboot.

My take: Finally saw this a couple of nights ago. A few friends on Facebook were posting that it "wasn't a total waste of time." I figured that's as good a review as it could get so I decided to check it out. I was expecting them to try something more epic than the original and I'm kind of glad they didn't. It was low-key and had the added bonus of Michael Keaton and Gary Oldman acting together (a mismatched Batman and Commissioner Gordon, it made me smile, okay?). Overall, I would be curious what they would do with a sequel.

The reveal of the bat suit for Batman vs. Superman pushed back a month.

My take: Why reveal it at all? You owe us nothing. Just make the movie. Push the reveal back indefinitely then surprise us with a teaser trailer instead. You are welcome, marketing department.

VIDEO GAMES

BioShock team disbands label.

My take: Irrational Games will be no more once a new DLC for Infinite comes out. After the popular Batman Arkham games moved companies, things were noticably different. I don't have high hopes for any BioShock fans in the future. Lower those expectations now.

TELEVISION

Star Wars REBELS details coming out slowly.

My take: With toy releases and character biographies coming out, the marketing for this show is extremely slow burning and sub-par for now. The only exciting thing I have seen is some "original trilogy"-style designs for some ships and walkers. Happy to see they aren't trying to reinvent the wheel for a change.

If The Flash doesn't take off, there is a plan B.

My take: Keeping Barry Allen in Arrow if his own series doesn't take off sounds like a financial and critical nightmare. Executive Producer of both shows intends to keep the character around no matter what. Every special effect must cost a fortune and they'll keep it as minimum as they can. As boring as Barry is, imagine if they have no funds to have him in costume? No super speed?

COMIC BOOKS

Jason Aaron closing Wolverine and the X-Men.

My take: I'm not a huge X-fan but this book was very accessible and entertaining. Hopefully he can carry that same feel to the Amazing title.

DC solicits yet another "What if..."-type storyline.

My take: DC is really driving me mad with their need to rely on alternate dimensions and "what if" storylines. The intent of The New 52 was to start fresh and get new readership invested in the characters. The only way these kinds of stories work is if you know the characters so well, it's exciting to see them taken out of their element.

Watch out for this segment each and every Wednesday. We'll see you next week!

Fans of the Marvel vs. Capcom franchise will recognize a certain fighter’s appearance this week, as Capcom is releasing their new title Strider digitally for consoles and PC.

Capcom MvC new release download PS4 PS3

In this side-scrolling platformer, ninja assassin Hiryu finds himself amidst the despotic surroundings of futuristic Kazakh City where, as the youngest recruit in the Special A-Class of an arduous Strider training program, he must achieve his mission of defeating the tyrannical Grand Master Meio and restoring the planet’s welfare.

Facing enemies such as militaristic automatons and steel-supported beasts requires the stealth and agility that Strider promises by providing its protagonist with various weapons and strengths. Each foe also presents his or her own challenging fighting style, keeping the combat engaging and evolving. Thanks to his multitasking plasma-powered “Cypher” and ranged weapons like the Kunai, Hiryu can meet—if not defeat—the power of those he encounters in this expansive setting with freezing and deflecting skills.

Two modes are included to utilize the most of the Ultimate Ninja Hero’s acrobatic abilities. “Survival Mode” puts reflexes to the test with waves of relentless enemies, while race-style “Beacon Run” throws enemies at players as they’re faced with hitting multiple checkpoints in the record time.

Strider became available for $14.99 February 18 on PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 3, while Xbox One, Xbox 360, and Steam will see the release February 19.

Check out the screenshots below, and let us know if this will be among your list to conquer this weekend!

Jimmy Kimmel had exclusive rights to show the very first Guardians of the Galaxy trailer and it is sweeping the internet! We have all been wondering exactly what kind of tone the movie would have and the trailer answers that in spades! If you like comedy/action movies, this looks like the one movie you would take to a deserted island!

Guardians of the Galaxy First Trailer Jimmy Kimmel

I don't think there are any major spoilers in the trailer but it does contain everything we wanted. There are introductions of all our main characters, there is humor, there is action and confirmation that this movie is going to kick ass. I love that Peter Quill is unknown in the galaxy but probably has a long history of adventures. I love that Rocket Raccoon is simply called "Rocket" and I love how the team, assembled, looks like a rag tag crew of misfits who actually look like they can handle anything.

Don't take my word for any of this, see for yourself!

I have been excited for this movie from announcement day. If you are reading the current Marvel series, you are probably already on the bandwagon. However, I highly, highly, highly recommend the Dan Abnett & Andy Lanning series from 2008-2011, plus Nova, including the Annihilation crossover. You are welcome.

Speaking of the bandwagon, are you on it yet or still not convinced this movie will fit in with the Marvel Cinematic Universe?

Top 5 Most Anticipated Video Games of 2014

Posted by Shaun - Tuesday, February 18, 2014

Hello there guys! Sorry about my hiatus, but I've been suffering from the dreaded man-flu. I am finally back with yet another list, this time I'm counting down my most anticipated games of 2014. My ranking here runs from 5 (excited, but I can wait for a price drop) to 1 (a midnight launch must-have).

Let's get started!

5. Watchdogs

Each time this game gets postponed, my enthusiasm dies a bit. I had intended to buy this game for the Nintendo Wii U, but now I think I might end up picking this up for the PS4 when the Wii U copy comes out to save those dollar dollar bills. I am somewhat pissed at Ubisoft for delaying this game again because I had great hopes back at E3 2012 when they showed it.

4 Destiny

PC game Destiny screen shots
Destiny will be Bungie's first first-person shooter since Halo. This one will be a three-player co-op team-based game where you get to meet other fire teams online. I am really looking forward to it, because the team behind it was also behind one of my favorite gaming franchises of all time (Halo, of course). I hope this game will live up to the hype and be around for a very long time.

3. Tom Clancy's The Division

This will be a new IP for the Tom Clancy series and this game just looks amazing. The graphics are the best I have ever seen for the next generation of consoles. Again, this is a team-based game with other players around the world trying to survive in a wasteland of Manhattan. I can't wait to pick this up and play with my buddies online and go exploring to see what dangers lay waiting for us.

2. Mario Kart 8

Wii U Mario Kart 8 Images StillsWhat can I say about Mario Kart? I've been a fan since the Super Nintendo game. This is the game that breaks up friendships and families. Mario Kart 8 is going to be the upcoming game for the Wii U, and hopefully it will be the Wii U's savior. It will also feature a new gimmick for the series, "antigravity," and bikes, gliders, and underwater driving are confirmed to make an epic return. Also, hopping the blue shell will be underpowered this time around. (Goddamn that shell always hitting me!)

1. Super Smash Bros.

Is this really a surprise to all of my readers? As we all know, I am a huge Nintendo fan, so when you have a universe built around these great characters, of course this will be my number one! I cannot wait to get this game on both Nintendo platforms (Nintendo Wii U, Nintendo 3 DS). I have always played as Link, but seeing who has made the roster this time around, there are a few I have my eye on (Mega-Man, Little Mac).

So those were my top 5 most anticipated games of 2014. Please let me know in the comments below what games you are looking forward to and why! Remember to check out these other great lists that I have written: [Top 5 video games of 2013.] [ Top 5 Movies] and remember stay frosty.

The Walking Dead Season 4 Episode 11 Spoilers
It's that time of week again! Yours truly, Chris "The Dace Man" Dace, is back with another review and synopsis of AMC's horror drama, The Walking Dead!

Last week we found ourselves following the aftermath of the prison war. The gang as we had grown to know in season two and three split up in to smaller groups and on their own. The mid-season premier picked up with a beaten and battered Rick Grimes with his son Carl journeying away from the prison. The episode also dived into the history and deeper emotions of Michonne. The three converge at a house by the end of the episode but only after an emotional roller coaster of a journey for the two parties. Now that episode nine is in the books, we look ahead to episode 10. With many questions still on our minds, we only have some resolutions for three of the main cast members. Who will we encounter this week? Will it be as emotionally gripping as last week's episode? Will there be shocking deaths that occurred off camera during the skirmish between the Governor and Rick?

THE FOLLOWING ARTICLE WILL CONTAIN SPOILERS FOR THE WALKING DEAD SEASON 4, EPISODE 10: "Inmates."

We kick of this week's episode with voice-over work from the beautiful Emily Kinney, and see Daryl and Beth running through the woods from the prison away from walkers. Beth's voice-over explains the past few months while at the prison, which echoes a transition from fear to hope as the images shown explain a reversed transition. Daryl and her collapse in the field from running, ending the voice-over on a very optimistic note of hope. Cue that infamous intro music and roll into the main title!

Back from the first round of commercials, and we see Daryl and Beth around a camp fire. Beth is pleading a case to Daryl that they need to do something, to go find the others, and she is very eager to get moving. The thing I like most about these string of episodes following The Prison War is the fact that we will get to dive much further into characters we usually don't interact with much. The determination in Beth's voice as they start tracking others shows the character's growth from the girl we saw in season two trying to off herself. The interaction between Beth and Daryl is new to the show as well; up until this point, these two have had very little interaction. The two stumble upon two walker bodies and blood not belonging to them. After a scuffle with a walker, the two press on to railroad tracks, where they find the remains of their former bunk mates at the prison. At this point Beth breaks down and we cut to a night scene. There's another voice-over/journal entry of how she's not going to give up, and presses on in the memory of Herschel.

Nude photos of the Carol from The Walking DeadWe return and this time we are following the sisters from The Shining, Tyrese, and the big reveal: baby Judith, who is very much alive. We find Tyrese playing daddy to three girls as he tries desperately to keep them safe, while Judith's crying concerns the creepy girls. There's a flock of birds that startles Mika and she runs into the woods. Tyrese and Lizzy pursue and catch up with her. Tyrese then hears screaming and he goes to check on it, leaving the girls by themselves with Judith. The brave Lizzie says they'll be fine; Mika, on the other hand, is scared out of her mind. Tyrese comes to the same railroad tracks Daryl and Beth found, but earlier than them, and tries to save two inmates caught by walkers. We cut back to the girls, where Lizzie is going psycho and holding her hand over Judith's mouth to quiet her crying. That girl is totally out of her mind. Tyrese fails to save the two inmates, but, much to his surprise, Carol returns with the girls. One of the inmates Tyrese failed to save tells the group to stick to the tracks. Carol explains to Tyrese she caught the end of the battle and lies to him about what transpired between her and Rick several episodes before. Following the tracks, they find a map with the word "Terminus" on it. Are we seeing the beginning of the Washington D.C. arc from the comics, or is this something completely out of right field? Time for commercials as we're half way through this week's episode!

Nude photos of Maggie from The Walking DeadMaggie, Bob, and Sasha take us into the next segment with Maggie sharpening a knife as Sasha tends to Bob's gunshot wound. Bob optimistically tells Sasha the others had to have made it. Maggie is hellbent on going to find Glenn and she takes off into the forest. Mr. Smiles (Bob) says they shouldn't split up, and Bob follows Maggie. When we cut to the next scene, Bob and Sasha argue over if they should be looking for Glenn or not. The three find the bus parked in the middle of the road—now filled with walkers. Maggie, just like the viewers, fears for the worst. They decide to let the walkers out of the bus to verify the dead and Maggie increases her kill count, bashing the head of, presumably, a girl she was jealous of. To her surprise, she finds no sign of Glenn among the dead, so she enters the bus. The music, her slow movements, the blood-soaked bus, and a mysterious figure crawling towards her lead the audience to assume the worst. They don't show a face, but judging by Maggie's reaction, it's not Glenn, so slow your rolls. If they stick to the comics, he's got a much worse fate coming down the line. Maniacal laugh, and now a commercial.

The Walking Dead Glen Dies
Now it's time for Glenn's story! We see Glenn at the prison working on his tan, which looks to be a very short time after the battle itself. Now our friend Glenn has himself in a sort of a pickle: the prison is completely overrun with walkers and he has nowhere to go but back into the prison, in the dark. Glenn returns to his cell block and decides to take a nap…just kidding, but he does lay down to gather himself for a few minutes. He finds a picture of Maggie and immediately turns into a girly man and breaks down in tears. D'aw, love. This, of course, renews his motivation and he grabs the essentials, like the pocket watch Herschel gave him. Note that at this point, there's no way Glenn could know about what the Governor did to Herschel, so his assumption of Herschel's death isn't as traumatic. Riot geared-up, Glenn jumps right into the horde, where he finds that one chick who was with the Governor sitting by herself within a fenced in area. Commercial!

We return to Glenn saving this girl's sorry ass. If you ask me, he's putting in some time if Maggie is dead so he can get some. After bombing a car, he and his new squeeze make a run for it, successfully escaping the prison. From this scene, we can see the prison is ridiculously over-swarmed. We learn from the girl that her sister was swarmed after shooting the Governor. She also drops the bomb on Glenn the way Herschel was killed. Glenn tells her that he needs her help to find his wife and then guilts the hell out of her even more. She hates herself, but when Glenn takes on a few walkers, she sees how weak he still is from the sickness. The last scene introduces Abraham and crew! YES! YES! YES! YES!

The Walkig Dead introduces Abraham and Eugene

This episode tied up many loose ends from the mid-season finale as well as opened the doors to the future. Carol is back and we get the first look at Abraham and his crew from the comics. I, for one, am ecstatic and was yelling yes really, really loud. Time for a new chapter and time for some fun!

So see ya next week, walkers! As always, check back regularly to see what Chris "The Dace Man" Dace is looking at (and no, not just porn), as well as all of the other bloggers here at Fanboys Anonymous. As a throwback to indie comic creators, I try to drive traffic to various campaigns I like. I think it's important to be the best catalyst I possibly can. It isn't always effective; Tweeting can only do so much, and Facebook posts get lost among the millions of ridiculous ten-second funny posts my dad and others post to everyone in their Friends lists. On social sites like Pinterest, one post is practically a drop in an infinite ocean. As a big supporter of indie campaigns, especially one with the special privilege of being a contributor on a platform such as Fanboys Anonymous, I intend to shine the spotlight on more unique comic book creators and creations.

Kinetic

Art Stefano Cardoselli Blood and Gore

Stefano Cardoselli's comic sketch art book isn't a comic campaign per se, but this is an artist who is already established in the comic book world. His published works appear in comics from Devil's Due Publications to Marvel and for good reason: His art is impeccable, and he's no fan of the average. His best art is a blood, gore, and monstrosities art, but he also has carved his name into the worlds of the the mainstream superhero comics we are used to reading.

This campaign is one for which I have high hopes, simply because I'd like to own the personal sketches of such a prominent comic book artist. Generally, my comic book sketch art pieces have two qualifying factors: They have to be TMNT, or they have to be dark/unique. If it's drawn by Stefano Cardoselli, it's bound to be dark and unique. Scope his campaign to see what I mean, then check out his art work online.

Mystic Tales

Mystic Tales immediately jumped out at me as a comic that was well put together, even if the campaign didn't exactly elaborate on the theme, thus causing the original campaign to fail. The art is hard not to enjoy. The funny thing is that, at first, it jumped out at me as a fantasy comic because of the way it was pitched, but then I recently stumbled across the second campaign and my understanding of the work was entirely refreshed.

Mystic Tales Free Comic Download
Mystic Tales is a very emperors and dukes kind of comic. What didn't originally translate for me and others was the fact that it's not only a fantasy comic but also a sci-fi space opera about a prince turned fugitive and a slave turned free man. They work together to develop a team that combats evil in the galaxy of Ga-ley.

The art alone is extremely beautiful and, in my opinion, should have attracted a fair amount of attention. Whatever else was lost in translation and for whatever other reason the campaign wasn't supported, I don't know, but it's a comic I'd like to get my hands on one of these days. The second video below will let you in on what the campaign's really about. Check them out and compare.

The second video (for the second campaign) made a way bigger impression on me and probably on anyone willing to donate. As it stands, the project isn't funded, but it definitely must have a way better chance.

Diskordia

Free Comics Diskordia Download
Being the weirdo that I am, I really tend to enjoy the "through the rabbit hole" types of comics, books, and movies. From the insane fiction in Twilight Zone to the wild, distorted adventures of Finn and Jake, the sideways, science fiction ridiculousness of Pseudoverse to the cartoon dimension of Roger Rabbit, not-so-average titles like Diskordia live in the wacky holes in our heads.

This campaign has a very Tim Burton and Alice in Wonderland meet Being John Malkovich feel to it. The comic appears to take place in a fantasy world, or several fantasy worlds, where the main character is stripped of the security of universal physics and reality. Whether these worlds, or fantasies, are the creation of a powerful mind or an indication that the reality we know is actually far more messy than we ever thought, the ride promises to be a fun one. Scope the campaign. You're sure to like it.

Skin the Kat

Michael Myers In The Making - Dead Animals What I like about the Skin the Kat graphic novel comic campaign are it's antisocial characters and story line. It follows a young man who, along with his friend, collects dead animals and animal parts—a couple of Michael Myers in the making. Suddenly, when an attractive young woman lures the attention of the main character in this story, it sets a fire of jealousy. This comic novel is definitely going to be different; perhaps it won't be for everyone, but it seemed so out there that I felt it deserved a mention. The video is short, the pitch is fun, and the content is eerily dark.

Through the Dust of Empyrean

Cheap Through The Dust Of Empyrean Art Downloads
The overall theme of this comic is about as unique as they get. It's set in a kingdom between space and time referred to as The Empyrean. This place is exclusive: Only the dead can get in, but that is only the first qualification. Certain eccentrics, talents, or preferred personalities are drafted into this afterlife for as-yet-undefined reasons.

In this place, each faith and its gods are created by a council. Why? Perhaps we'll soon know. Surely it has something to do with furthering someone's end. There are many rulers of this dimension, just as there were in the last. Also just like the last dimension, it's these drafted persons who will use their new assignment in The Empyrean to conquer and command in death, creating and destroying kingdoms. The assignment of some to the position of God on Earth appears to be a move that may easily cause inside wars. Even after dying, it would appear, life is only lived at the whim of the brutes still yet.

The comic art is wild, zany, and exaggerated—very sharply cut with anime-like detail. The story is excellent and certainly different. I have yet to see the works, but I'm looking forward to them for certain. Check it out and don't forget to let me know what you think downstairs. Indie?

Christopher Malcolm, the actor who played the original Brad Majors in the stage production of The Rocky Horror Picture Show, passed away on Saturday.

The original Brad Major in The Rocky Horror Picture Show stage production passed away
The Rocky Horror Picture Show stage production

His daughter, playwright Morgan Lloyd Malcom, confirmed the news on her Twitter, saying, "Today the world lost a beautiful, brilliant man. My dad Christopher Malcolm left peacefully and with dignity. He will always be my hero."

The Scottish actor originated the role of Brad Majors in the 1973 London production of Rocky Horror, playing the role of the newly-engaged fiancĂ© of Janet Weiss who takes refuge in the castle of the sweet transvestite, Dr. Frank-n-Furter.

The accomplished stage show went on to a film in 1975, with the role of Brad played by Barry Bostwick.

While Malcolm continuously worked with Rocky Horror, co-producing the new production of The Rocky Horror Show at the Piccadilly Theater in 1990, he became the director of the Rocky Horror Company Ltd., overseeing its UK and European tours throughout the 90s and early 2000s.

Following his success in theater, Malcom appeared in films such as Star Wars: Episode V: The Empire Strikes Back as Zev Senesca (Rogue 2), Labyrinth, and Highlander. He later went on to play Officer Vance Parker in Shock Treatment, the black-comedy musical film follow-up to the Rocky Horror Picture Show.

His cause of death has not been revealed. He was 67 years old.

What was your favorite film or production Christopher Malcolm was in? Let us know in the comment section below.

Dear Fanboys and Fangirls, it is with childish giggles and schoolgirl excitement that I present to you three new movie stills from James Gunn's Guardians of the Galaxy and news of where you can catch the debut trailer!

Chris Pratt, Zoe Saldana, Bradley Cooper, Dave Bautista and Vin Diesel are Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy

Word had it originally that the first full-length trailer was going to be released earlier on Tuesday, but I suppose the PR boffins decided it was best to get everybody to tune into Jimmy Kimmel Live, which starts at 11:35pm ET/PT. Because why use IMDb and Youtube when you can boost TV ratings, right?

Why should we tune in to Kimmel's show? Well, because apparently the trailer's going to come with a special Chris Pratt (Star-Lord) intro. Now go stock up on snacks!

Chris Pratt is Marvel's intergalactic outlaw Star-Lord
We'll take the Spruce Moose! Hop in... I. Said. Hop. In!
The synopsis for Guardians of the Galaxy is also as follows, according to USA Today:
The movie teams five disparate personalities: Peter Quill (Pratt), aka Star-Lord, was taken from Earth as a 9-year-old, possesses a mysterious orb artifact and pilots the Milano, a muscle car of a spaceship. Gamora (Zoe Saldana) is connected to Thanos, arguably the cosmos’ biggest baddie. Drax the Destroyer (Dave Bautista) is a muscular dude you don’t want to upset. And then there are the aliens Rocket Raccoon and Groot (computer-generated characters voiced by Bradley Cooper and Vin Diesel, respectively), who are best pals and potentially the biggest things to happen to pop culture since Chewbacca.
Their stories converge in the space prison Kyln. After the characters break out, they venture to Knowhere (the severed head of a celestial being that serves as a hangout for aliens) and visit the weird menagerie of the Collector (Benicio Del Toro). They also have to avoid two villains, Ronan (Lee Pace) and Nebula (Karen Gillan), who are in hot pursuit of Quill’s orb, which has the power to destroy the galaxy.

Chris Pratt airs Guardians of the Galaxy on Jimmy Kimmel Live Tuesday 18th February

I'd also like to mention the other stars of Guardians of the Galaxy, which haven't had much mention. If you're a fan of James Gunn's work, they'll be instantly recognizable if you don't know them from anywhere else. John C.Reilly (Step Brothers, Wreck It Ralph) popped up in the original teaser trailer, which really is a surprise. We also have The Walking Dead's Michael Rooker (aka Merle Dixon), Gregg Henry (Slither's foul-mouthed town mayor), Peter Serafinowicz (Shaun of the Dead and the voice of Darth Maul), Benicio Del Toro, and Glenn Close. There may or may not even be an unofficial Nathan Fillion contribution. Huge… heee-yoooge!

Sound off, Fanboys! Excited? How about these tasty new movie stills? Comments below and thanks for reading.
