90's Kid Presents: Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 3 for N64

Posted by Miguel Leon - Monday, May 13, 2013

My name is 90's Kid, and I am a retro addict. I don't mind living in the past. We had better music than you have today, our TV wasn't all reality-based, and we had what I consider to be the Golden Age of video gaming. And that's what I'm here to talk about. My job is to uncover hidden gems of the good ol' days, remind you of some of your old favorites, and give props to a forgotten time in retro gaming (sorry, but the NES is SO 1980s). So, with all that out of the way, lets begin with a historic N64 title: Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 3.

Now, I can hear what you're thinking: Why is the first review of a 90's retro blog a game from 2002. That's a fair question, but think about the franchise in general. 1999's Tony Hawk's Pro Skater perfectly encapsulated the late 90's extreme fad, from the pop culture icon in Tony Hawk as its lead, to the packed 90's alternative soundtrack; this game fit the time perfectly. and with its tight level design and fluid controls; it managed to become one of the more endearing franchises of the modern era.

While many debate where the franchise has fallen to now, the consensus among fans is that the peak of the franchise came with Pro Skater 3. THPS 3 made the leap into the next generation in a big way, with bigger levels with tons of interactivity, a massive soundtrack filled with the likes of Motorhead, Xzibit, and The Red Hot Chili Peppers, a brand new skate park creator, and exclusive for the PS2: online multiplayer. Future installments would add things like free-roaming ala Grand Theft Auto, plastic skateboard controllers (looking at you, Tony Hawk: Ride), and a debatable "welcome" cameo by the Jack-Ass crew, but those games just tended to muddy the waters of the series into what its become today. When it comes to the perfect balance of simple-yet-effective skateboarding gameplay, THPS 3 is where its at.

So, what happens when you take an amazing game known for launching a franchise in the 21st century, and cram it into a console that still had its hooks in the last generation even in its own time? Answer: a game that completely misses out on its own potential.

Now, before i say anything negative, I will give the new development team credit. Released as the final official game for the Nintendo 64 in America, Edge of Reality took the original game, made by Neversoft, and did their best to shrink what was a massive game into the confines of the limited N64 hardware. And to their credit, all the meat of the game is here. You still have the core gameplay, all the levels, all the modes (sans the online play, which is fine since not even the Xbox version had that), all the main characters, and all the new moves (including the revolutionary Revert). Sadly, everything on this game, while present, is woefully scaled back.

From the moment the game loads up, you see that the cartridge was not made for a game like this. Gone is the full motion video intro to the game, as well as all the FMVs of the characters you unlock through career mode. In fact, all the unlockable characters (with the exception of Wolverine) are not included in this version. So while you do get the play the same starter roster as the next-gen version, those of you hoping to play as Darth Maul, Officer Dick, or the Neversoft Eye mascot will be SOL. Another glaring omission is the full length soundtrack. While most of the songs are present (and I say most because as of this writing, I can not confirm or deny if all the songs from the next gen versions are in the game) its clear that they were only able to fit the instrumentals of said songs, with barely a line or two of actual lyrics just to remind you what it is you are actually hearing. For a franchise that's most notable for its soundtracks, this is a huge blow.

Level design also takes a hit as well. Gone are any interactive elements. People in the background? Trigger-specific missions? Secret areas within the levels? All gone. What you see is what you get, which takes alot of the charm out of the levels, like the massive earthquake in the LA level or the avalanche you can trigger in the Canada level. Speaking of what you see being what you get, the levels themselves are seemingly scaled smaller. while all the key set pieces are present, they all seem much closer-spaced than in the next gen versions. I cant say if it hurts or helps the overall level design, but its noticeable. Also noticeable is the presence of low visibility, or as i like to call it "N64 fog".

But for all the faults, this is still THPS. And while it loses alot of the shine, its core is still there. Control in this game is still as smooth as ever. All the maneuvers are mapped to the C Buttons, so if you're familiar with the controls from the PS1 versions and beyond, this will feel right at home. Surprisingly enough, the gameplay actually rarely if ever suffers from slowdowns, a challenge for most N64 titles. Its not as fast the 60 frames per second the next gen versions have, but it doesn't ruin the gameplay. And like I stated before, while the levels are scaled back, they are still just as fun as ever.

So what do we have? A version of a game that feels less like Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 3, and more like Tony Hawks Pro Skater 2.5. In the end, playing this game is like watching a bare-bones DVD of a great movie. Yes, the core is still there and as good as ever. But knowing that there's so much more out there just makes you want to go out and pick up the Special Edition Blu-Ray. Like I stated earlier, it was the last N64 game, and was more of a pop than a bang.

I Got Gameplay Episode 24 Pre Order Bonuses, fanboys anonymous, gaming, xbox, playstation wii, wii u ps3 ps2, xbox 360

Welcome back all Fanboys as of now we stand legitimately one month away from E3 2013 as this time next month I will actually be covering the event itself. Today's topic on the other hand is a very interesting and rather debatable one as well. We are going to discuss the likely third party characters that could be added to the Smash Brothers roster.

Namco Bandai are clearly going to get a representative of their own since they are helping co-develop the upcoming game for the Wii U console. My likely choice for this is Pac Man but thats just me. I would never rule the possibilities of a Tekken or Soul Calibur representative thrown in the mix instead to attempt to shake things up but I personally just don't see it.

I would also really dig a Sonic return to the franchise as not only am I huge fan of the character but Sega and Nintendo have been the closest in terms of working together that they have ever been. Sonic returning to Smash is still debatable as his appearance in Brawl last time could have been a one-off deal but leaving Sonic out of the Smash Brothers picture entirely to me seems like just another wasted opportunity.

Last but not least, maybe least in terms of the probability of this actually happening is Capcom having a rep in the upcoming mascot brawler. We all want to see Mega Man, he is our guy not only to represent Capcom but as the ultimately desired third party character choice as well. His treatment as of late though with Capcom's intent on burying him he seems the least likely to combat out of their stars. An addition to the roster in the form of a Viewtiful Joe or a Street Fighter character like Ryu seem more likely as brand name fighter that Capcom could potentially throw in the mix of things, if they even do so at all. For more on my opinions on the subject in this article please watch the video below.

Four New 6th Generation Pokemon Revealed!

Posted by Unknown - Saturday, May 11, 2013

The first details of the new CoroCoro magazine came out today and revealed four new Pokemon! This article is going to cover those new Pokemon. Their confirmed types, and names in Japanese. As well as images of the new Pokemon. I hope you enjoy!

Confirmed Evolutions for 6th Generation Starters
The Panda at the top is a Fighting type named Yancham. He is the naughty Pokemon. He is 0.6 meters tall and weighs 8 kg. It has a new move called Parting Remark which lowers the opponents stats and causes the user to switch out. This could be useful for gym battles if you had multiple Pokemon with Parting Remark you could swap between Pokemon lowering the leader's best Pokemon's stats while spreading out the damage over multiple Pokemon. Once the defending Pokemon is in a weakened state. You then bring in a Pokemon to finish it off. I can't see it seeing much use in competitive play though because Pokemon switch out so often. Maybe in double battles if it affected both the defending Pokemon.

The Bird on the left is a Normal/Flying Robin Pokemon named Yayakoma. He is 0.3 meters tall and weighs 1.7 kg. It announces itself with a beautiful voice. It can also learn the move Flame Charge. This seems wierd maybe it will evolve into a Fire/Flying type at some point. This is more than likely the Pidgey of past games.

The Lizard on the bottom is a Normal/Electric type named Elikiteru. He is 0.5 meters tall and weighs 6 kg. It has a new move called Parabola Charge which heals the user while damaging opponents. We haven't seen the stats on this thing yet but if it evolves into a Pokemon with some bulk this could be very useful. Poisoning the defending Pokemon then switching out into this guy and spamming Parabola Charge would be a good way to take down foes. It all depends on the damage output of the move and how much it heals, how bulky is Elikiteru and his potential evolutions.

Finally on the right is the Goat Pokemon GoGoat. Literally pronounced GoGohto and is the Riding Pokemon. It is a Grass Type stands 1.7 meters tall and weighs 91 kg. You can actually ride this Pokemon in the games! Which is really cool. It learns the move horn leech.

That's all the information we have at the moment but there should be a boatload of more information coming out in the coming weeks regarding X and Y. The Summer is here and CoroCoro is gonna be revealing all sorts of new stuff. I'll be here to cover it when they do. So keep on checking that stuff out. If you wanna know when I'm working on a new article or anything you can also follow me on twitter @thatjesterkid. Thanks for reading!

Uncanny Avengers (2013) #8 Review

Posted by Unknown - Wednesday, May 8, 2013

The Uncanny Avengers series started out as a novel idea that has since blossomed into a story that is much bigger than itself. Bringing back the classic villain Kang the Conqueror, we are inevitably thrust into a tale of time travel that transcends the basic laws of time and space that we are so used to. As such, the last couple issues of the series have been somewhat confusing, jumping from past to present to future a little bit too many times for comfort. Well, it looks like Uncanny Avengers #8 is starting to tie the knots together in the story, and we can finally see the big picture that is being ever-so-delicately painted.

Perhaps one of the most polarizing points of the Uncanny Avengers series has been Rick Remender's decision to adopt a third-person omniscient narrative that interjects every so often. The majority of reviews and comments that I have read are very much against this style of story-telling. As a fan of the classic comics of the 60s, 70s, 80s, and 90s, however, I find the style profoundly nostalgic and effective. My point, in my opinion, is proven in this issue as it has been proven in previous issues. The narrative helps to keep the story moving at a nice pace and to fill in any ambiguity that might come about from having such a complex story.

Daniel Acuna's artwork is hit or miss in this issue (mostly hit). Thor, in particular, has very poor facial definition and kind of looks like he's recovering from plastic surgery. Other panels, however, are beautifully done, with nice detail and clean penciling.

In terms of actual plot development, like I mentioned in the beginning, things are starting to come together and make a bit more sense. There's an interesting idea that is toyed around with in this issue, and it's that mutants and humans working together is doomed from the start and bound to fail. Is what the future holds inevitable? Well, if we know anything about the Marvel Universe, we know that the answer is no. Still, the foundation for major conflict within this new Avengers unit is certainly there and is set to blow up big sooner or later.

Diablo In-Game Glitch is Allegedly Destroying its Economy

Posted by Unknown - Tuesday, May 7, 2013

Kotaku reports that the currency in Diablo 3 has been compromised with the introduction of a new patch.

It has been suggested that the new patch has an exploit that allows the user to double their income by bidding on items in the auction house and cancelling their transaction which apparently doubles the users gold thus giving the user an unlimited source of income.

Below is a video of a Diablo 3 user VinnieDaMac utilizing this exploit to gain millions of dollars worth of gold.

Update:

Blizzard have released a statement to Kotoku:

After the release of Patch 1.0.8 this morning, we made the decision to take the gold and real-money Auction Houses offline to investigate a bug that certain players were exploiting to dupe gold. Our team is working hard to fix any outstanding issues and take appropriate actions with the accounts involved. The Auction House services will be restored as soon as the situation is resolved. As always, maintaining a stable, safe, and fun gaming experience for legitimate players is a top priority for us, and we'll continue to monitor activity on Battle.net and take action as needed.

With the Marvel universe set to become more confusing with Thanos rising and more X-Men from the past and future set to appear, it's any wonder how most of us can stay focused on The Age of Ultron as it stands. But with Marvel promising a big reveal at the end, fans like myself are staying immersed in this story as the heroes of the Marvel universe (or what's left of them) try to find a solution to Ultron's destruction of the world as we know it.

"Nothing that we do matters". Think of a world where no matter how much you risk, how far you go and how much you attempt to make things right, you can't seem to make a difference. Well in Age of Ultron #4, the situation becomes more and more desperate as She Hulk and Luke Cage attempt to find Ultron's hideout by offering She Hulk as a sacrifice. The issue treads lightly on Cage's past, talking about the death of his wife and child and how Ultron is organizing these forces without even making an appearance. By the end of this issue, you won't just be shocked, you'll be clamoring for the next issue as the story becomes more and more suspenseful giving the reader a cliffhanger ending like no other.

Now that they know where Ultron is, can the Marvel heroes stop him? That's the theme of this issue as Luke Cage spills the beans on what happened to him and She Hulk as they attempt to fight their way out of Ultron's stronghold. This issue picks up nicely from where #4 left off, giving an insight into how Ultron was able to do so much damage in so little time. The majority of this issue is planning and the heroes struggling to come to terms with the life that they are living. As it progresses, we see Wolverine and Susan Storm talk about their lost lives in order to come to conclusions that makes the reader shudder.

Wolverine and Susan Storm enact their plan to go to the past to kill Ultron's creator. But will they be successful? Bendis paints a vivid picture of heroes who are desperate. We've seen Wolverine as a killer - he was trained as one - but can he kill someone in cold blood? A man who was innocent? This issue is a must read and greatly changes the shape of things to come.

My Rating: 8 out of 10

Wolverine and Susan Storm return to the present day to find how everything has changed. The world that they once knew is not the same as the Avengers are no more and the Fearless Defenders rule with an iron fist. Before they can make sense of their surroundings, the Defenders find them and attack, thinking that the Skrulls have invaded.

This issue stands as more of a filler before we find out what will happen next to the Marvel Universe. It's weird as it just feels forced as though Bendis is attempting to create his reboot but misses the point entirely. If you stay clear of this issue you'd probably still be able to keep up.

My Rating: 6 out of 10

With DC's stop and stall tactics regarding the Justice League movie, it would seem as though the project is a never-ending failure. Kevin Feige, producer of Marvel's financially successful Phase One universe, had this to say when asked for his opinion regarding DC's dilemma.

In an interview with Collider he states:
I don’t know. I’m sure they have smart people over there who have a plan and know what they’re doing. Man of Steel looks like it’s going to be awesome and obviously Dark Knight is awesome. I don’t know. It’s what I say all the time and have said over the years, which is, have confidence in the characters, believe in the source material, don’t be afraid to stay true to all of the elements of the characters no matter how seemingly silly or crazy they are. I don’t know, I think the Marvel characters have a bit of a leg up for all the reasons that Marvel fans are aware of in terms of the emotional complexity of the characters and the flawed nature of the characters. Those are obviously the elements we want to accentuate amongst all the action.

How Will Iron Man Return in Avengers 2?

Posted by Anthony Mango - Friday, May 3, 2013

Spoiler alert for those who haven't seen Iron Man 3 yet.

For those that have seen the movie, we now know that Tony Stark has not only blown up his reserve of armored suits but also removed the shrapnel from his heart, meaning there won't be an arc reactor on his chest anymore. After all, what would the purpose be? He doesn't need it to survive, nor does he need it for his suits if he's quit being Iron Man.

So where does this leave us for Avengers 2? It's already been confirmed that Robert Downey Jr will be in the film and the end of Iron Man 3 even specifically reassures us that "Tony Stark will return". What will convince him to rejoin the team and suit up for one if not two more films?

Fanboy Sean Mitchell brought up the point that perhaps it could be something as simple as what Nick Fury said in the first film: they'll return because they'll need to. Without knowing the plot of the film or even the villain for certain, it's difficult to figure out just exactly what will hit home for Tony Stark to make him become Iron Man again - particularly after this film LITERALLY had something hit his home.

Will they gloss over this fact and just have him decide "fuck it, I like being Iron Man"? Will they forgo the happy conclusion of this film and kill off Pepper Potts? Hopefully, there isn't a huge amount of time that they have to dedicate to bringing Tony back on to the team as that eats up time that could be utilized with pure fun. He claims he's not the hero type, but at the same time, we all know the story of these films has been about him having a heart and doing the right thing.

What do you think is going to happen? Let us know in the comments below.

Welcome back all Fanboys we are getting so close to E3 2013, in fact we are our last full month before the event. Crazy to think the half a year mark is creeping up faster with every single passing year but regardless I am here to talk to you about two particular characters that would make for a great duo to play as in the upcoming Smash Brothers game. Naturally as the title to this article says I will be talking about Banjo and Kazooie.

As much as these two would make for a great addition to the game, these two actually making the roster is highly unlikely. As much as it may sadden me to say so because the two of them would at least make my top five as far as dream roster goes for the next game, the reality of the situation is the company that owns them doesn't even qualify as a third party developer to Nintendo at all in fact they're quite the opposite. Rare Ware was bought by Microsoft from Nintendo to make them a second party developer to their console after the era of the Nintendo 64. They were re-branded as simply "Rare"and all of their content is now the intellectual property of Microsoft. Who are one of, if not the biggest competitor to Nintendo within the gaming market.

However this doesn't stop me from making a video talking about what a cool pairing they could be. Kazooie could be used for special A and B attacks. Where as the rest of the time you combat using Banjo's brute strength. On a more creative level, you could create different gadgets from the material in the jungle like they do in the actual games. It would be difficult to implement but still very interesting to say the least. For more of my opinion on this idea watch the video below.

Why the Wii U is a Dumb Name for Nintendo's Next Console

Posted by Anthony Mango - Wednesday, May 1, 2013

Many members of the Fanboys Anonymous crew are active gamers with an extensive knowledge of the video game industry. Yours truly is not quite at that level. I consider myself a casual gamer at best and most of the aspects up for debate in the video game world are things that I bypass entirely. However, I was inspired by this Kotaku article to speak up about something...

The names "Wii" and "Wii U" are ridiculous.

Back when Nintendo was releasing their new console, I had heard rumblings that it was going to be called the "Nintendo Revolution" and my first reaction was a big sigh of "meh". Revolution used to be an awesome word but it's been overplayed in pop culture and is losing its value. Nintendo Revolution sounded more like an advertisement for a console or a marketing campaign more so than the console itself. Something along the lines of "get ready for a brand new Nintendo revolution with the (insert console here)!"

Then, out of nowhere, I hear that it is actually called the Wii, which I naturally misread as "why" and had the same question on my mind. I've overheard lots of arguments for and against the Wii name over the past few years. It seems as though most of the pro-Wii people claim that it's original, fun, childish to go with its market, and easily translated in every language. Ok, I'll give you some of those points. But I have to side with the negatives, personally.

It would appear as though the Wii console itself sold for two primary reasons: 1) it's an anchor Nintendo console rather than a random offshoot subsidiary (like a 3DS in comparison to the DS in comparison to the Gameboy) and 2) motion. It didn't sell because of the name. The name only exists so people can know what it is rather than labeling the box "The Next Nintendo Thing". Let's not give the name any more credit towards the success of the console than that.

Then we have the Wii U, which has no value to the name whatsoever. They struggled with the question of whether or not they should name it "Wii - Related" to let people know that it's connected in some way to the Wii and they decided that that was much more important than to go with something fresh. While PlayStation has the much simpler PS4 model (to designate that it comes after PS3 but is still related) and Xbox will probably go with something like the Xbox 720 (to designate that it comes after Xbox 360 but is still related), Nintendo decided to go with.......U. What is that supposed to mean? Does it stand for Universe? Is this Wii Unlimited? Wii Ultimate? Wii Undecided?

Win a Free Wii U Codes Cheats Wii U Cheap Buy
Wii Uh...2. Yeah. The Wii 2. Jeez it took us a long time to figure that out...

It doesn't help their case at all that it appears from a relative outsider like myself that the Wii U is nothing but a smaller Wii with a tablet-esque controller as opposed to an entirely different console. This looks like a different version of the Wii similar to how PS2 eventually came out with a "slim" console and now that they're naming it the Wii U, it SOUNDS like it as well. To show you an example, Nintendo had the N64 and then the GameCube, entirely different. Xbox 360 Elite vs. Xbox 360 S are a part of the same line. Wii and Wii U. Which of those two scenarios does it match better?

No wonder they feel the need to advertise to people that this is more than just a firmware update. The only reason that I know that it is something more than that is because I run a website that has to deal with this sort of stuff, so I pay a little more attention than someone like myself would otherwise. The hardcore gamers are going to know as much about these things as possible no matter what the situation is, so they don't need to market to them. The less informed people, though, are going to be confused, and I bet you that the next console has an entirely different name just because they'll have learned their lesson (for now).

What do you think of the Wii U name?

Is it a ridiculous mistake on Nintendo's part, or do you think that it is an amazing name that showcases exactly what the console is and will be marketing gold?

Last November, Brian Michael Bendis introduced us to a time travel anomaly like no other when he took the X-Men from the past and placed them in present day. Well brace yourselves kiddies as it gets worse with the introduction of the X-Men's future selves in September's "X-Men: Battle of the Atom".

Speaking to Newsarama.com Bendis had this to say:

"X-Men is a lot about legacy, and where are we going and what are we getting, so this is the perfect story to examine all of that," Bendis told Newsarama. "And it is in a weird way the flipside of All-New X-Men — instead of the past coming to the present, it’s the future coming to the present. And now certain characters are going to be faced with their past, present and future all at once."

Robert Downey Jr to Reprise Iron Man for Avengers 2

Posted by Unknown - Tuesday, April 30, 2013

Coming hot off the heels of Iron Man 3, it has been learned that Robert Downey Jr will be reprising the role of Tony Stark aka Iron Man for Avengers 2. Speaking to GQ magazine Downey states:

Robert Downey Jr replaced for Iron Man 4 Avengers 2 Avengers 3
 "Isn't that crazy?"  "They're so pissed. I can't believe it. I'm what's known as 'a strategic cost.' "

Downey is reportedly making 50 million for the role, which is more than his co-stars are making. What will this mean for his character's future? Will he demand more to reprise the role for Iron Man 4 or bow out gracefully?

Hello, my name is Drew White and I just recently joined Fanboys Anonymous. For my first post I wanted to do something that I actually like, so I'm starting a series called Games That Deserve a Sequel. In this series I will go over games that never got a sequel that probably deserved one. For the first game to kick things off, I am going to choose a game that was one of the few that can help describe my teenage years.... Bully.

For those that don't know what Bully is, it is a game developed by Rockstar Vancouver that I consider the high school version of Grand Theft Auto as it is an action-adventure open world game (but a bit toned down in the explicit content department in comparison). It was released in the United States on October 17, 2006. I didn't even hear of this game until around Christmas time of that year when my best friend brought it over to my house and I borrowed it. From that day it has always been on my desk of games I will continue to play for the rest of my life. Now let's talk about the game itself and what it is about.

This is the awesome cover to the game.

Bully takes place in the town of Bullworth where the main character, Jimmy Hopkins, is being dumped off at Bullworth Academy by his recently married mother and his fifth stepfather while they go on a year long cruise as a honeymoon. Jimmy has been kicked out of every school he has ever attended for various reasons and is a troublesome child. Upon arriving he picks a fight with the bullies at the school and becomes their enemies from the very beginning. You also befriend Gary Smith, a student who suffers from attention deficit disorder, and Pete Kowalski, a very shy and smaller than average student, to try and take down the bullies at the school. The main objective is to take over the five cliques at the school. These groups are the Bullies, Jocks, Preppies, Greasers, and the Nerds. The game has five chapters to complete, with a sixth one after you beat the main game. The game is set up in missions, so it's pretty much a GTA in high school. After completing the first chapter, you gain the ability to access a part of the town as you are locked in the school gates during the first chapter. Some activities you can perform around town include going to the carnival, getting a job as a paperboy, going to certain shops and obtain new clothes to for Jimmy to strut around in, and getting spray cans to perform some graffiti artwork on buildings.

Why does this game deserve a sequel? Well it does because it is almost as good, if not as good, as the GTA series. It has a very good plot and there is nothing wrong with the game mechanics except for a few glitches here and there. It is rated T for Teens, which means no murders or sex (though there is an errand that involves you escorting a girl to a rundown motel in the poorer part of town, so you can kinda get what they are hinting at). You can however beat the crap out of anyone in town, though I don't recommend beating up a girls, kids, teachers, or the police as they will instantly track you down and get you "busted" and have all of your weapons taken away. The weapons in Bully are ones that you could possibly find on a teenager. So for example fire crackers, stink bombs, itching powder, marbles, and a spud gun. There is a health bar that can be depleted through fights and if it goes completely empty, you pass out. To refill it you can drink soda, or do what is even better and make out with people! Yes you can be gay in the game as there is a male in each clique that you an make out with if you repeatedly talk to them. You can go to class and increase certain things to help you out in the game. Like on English if you pass a certain lesson you can learn to apologize for small crimes that you commit. The classes are set up like mini games, so in English you have to list as many words you can our of the so many letters they give you.

Will this game get a sequel? Maybe.... I say this because Rockstar Vancouver became defunct this past year. Which means that if another sequel was going to go down it would have to be done through another Rockstar studio. However there were a few rumors going around that Rockstar Vancouver was thinking about doing a sequel, so that spreads a little light on the situation if another Rockstar studio wants to start a sequel. If it does end up happening the I will be extremely satisfied as almost everything from Rockstar nowadays turns out good.

So that's it for this post. Thanks for reading and be on the lookout for another one of these to be coming in the near future.

Wolverine to Become Killable in New Story Arc

Posted by Unknown - Monday, April 29, 2013

Wolverine's healing factor has gotten him out of some sticky situations, but that's about to change. As announced at the Chicago C2E2 conference, Wolverine will become vulnerable in the new "Killable" story arc written by Paul Cornell.

Speaking to Newsarama.com, Cornell had this to say about the introduction of the new story arc and why he feels that Wolverine needs to go in this direction:
"That was actually my central aim when I suggested this story, and I'm delighted that the ramifications of it have been taken up by the other titles too. Because of a historical accident (Wolverine getting a solo title very late on, relatively speaking), important things happening to Logan have tended to happen in team books. We all agreed that a major event in his life should happen in his own title."

Even though Cornell seems to be tight-lipped about the subject, it has been stated that the Wolverine movie will greatly impact on this story and will bring Logan into a different direction, opening up fresher stories for the character. Will this lead to a resurgence for the character or it's eventual demise?

Game On: 2 Player Mode Review

Posted by The Dace Man - Saturday, April 27, 2013

Hey Hey Hey Fan Boys! Chris "The Dace Man" Dace back here at Fanboys Anonymous bringing you an exclusive look at one of my favorite instrumental CDs of all time. Remember a long long time ago in a galaxy far far away there was this cute girl who played the Mighty Morphin Power Rangers Theme whilst wearing a Pink Ranger outfit?!?!? Well her name is Lara de Wit and she has done an awesome collaboration with the equally beautiful and talented Taylor Davis. The two have put together a CD entitled Game On: 2 Player Mode. The two musical goddesses take on some of our favorite gaming scores and give their interpretations with a violin and a piano and it was nothing but pure bliss. I've found my self leaving the CD on at night to fall asleep to as it relaxes me into a gamer induced coma. I have even caught my self hitting the punching bag to Guile's Theme, because it clearly it goes with every thing. If you're a gamer, which hopefully you are since you're on this site, you will thoroughly enjoy the 13 tracks of gametastic nerdom. One can only hope that these two will collaborate again in the near future so we can enjoy the sounds of the video game world as told through Lara and Taylor. So in conclusion, 10 out of 10 on this one boys and girls. So go out and get this album....and by go out I mean click the link bellow and give it a look.

As always check back regularly to see what Chris "The Dace Man" Dace is looking at, and no not just porn, as well as all other bloggers here at Fanboys Anonymous.
