Product Spotlight: Batman Justice League Halloween Costume

Posted by Anthony Mango - Monday, October 30, 2017

It's October 30th, which means two things: tomorrow is Halloween and DC's superhero mashup film Justice League is set to hit theaters in just over two weeks on November 16th.

With those in mind, along with having a girlfriend who just happens to look amazing in a Catwoman outfit, I knew for sure that yours truly needed to pick up a Batman costume for this year's Halloween party, and that's where Halloween Costumes came to the rescue.

The sponsors of our recent giveaway contest were kind enough to hook me up with one of their deluxe Justice League Batman costumes—my personal choice out of their variety of Justice League and Batman costumes as I wanted to be as timely as possible to capitalize on the hype of the upcoming movie.

A wise man once said, “Always be yourself, unless you can be Batman. Then be Batman.” We think it might have been Voltaire…

Being Batman is hard work. It requires billions of dollars in your checking account, a giant mansion that’s built on top of a cave that can be used as a base of operations and many years of martial arts training. You also need a butler, an acrobat sidekick with the same passion for justice that you have and a really cool car.

Well, chances are pretty good that you’re not a socialite with a tragic backstory and a multi-billion dollar bankroll, so being Batman might not always be easy. The good news is that we can help you be Batman! Just wear this Deluxe Tactical Batman costume, which is based on the Justice League movie, and you’ll be halfway there to becoming the iconic DC hero.

This adult Batman costume comes with everything you need to start your transformation into Bruce Wayne’s alter ego. It comes with a full jumpsuit that has muscle padding in the chest and arms, along with printed armor detailing. Attached boot covers and gauntlets help complete the look, making you look like a fully outfitted superhero with a hefty bankroll! Of course, it also comes with a belt and cape, as well as a Batman mask to hide your secret identity from the likes of The Joker and his goons. The only thing you’ll need to “be Batman” is some deadly gadgets and a lifetime of martial arts training. You’d better start working on both of those details while you wait for the costume to arrive at your doorstep!

    • Justice League Adult Deluxe Tactical Batman Costume
    • 100% polyester
    • Jumpsuit has printed details and hook and loop fasteners in back
    • Jumpsuit has padded chest and shoulders sculpted to look like muscles
    • Cape made of lightweight fabric
    • Cape is fastened securely to shoulders with hook and loop fasteners
    • Belt has printed details
    • Latex mask has elastic band to hold it securely
    • Officially licensed
    • Jumpsuit has attached boot covers

If you've followed Fanboys Anonymous for a while, you know by now that not only am I a massive Batman fan (favorite superhero ever), I'm also an apologist for Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice as I think the movie was just a few elements short of being perfect (ie, recast Lex Luthor and watch the Ultimate Edition and you've got an amazing movie).

What you may not know is that I've dressed as Batman numerous times throughout my Halloween experience and I was even that kid that used to wear the Batman cape and cowl around the house despite it being April and way past when I should have kept suiting up. I was adorable, and I was the night. Trust me.

Anyway, this Justice League variation was certainly a hit with my buddies and a great means to capitalize on a couples costume and fandom at the same time.

If you're trying to sort out a last minute costume or you want to get a heads up on next year, or you just want to buy a Batman costume because you're excited for the movie—whatever the case may be—make sure you check out Halloween Costumes and browse their site to check out not just their Dark Knight selection, but all the other things available, since you can pretty much find anything you're looking for.

Also, remember to check back here for a review of Justice League when the film comes out, and if you have any good stories or want to show off your Halloween costume from this year, drop a comment below!

Batman Christmas Cardigan DC Sweaters Spotlight

Posted by Anthony Mango - Saturday, February 4, 2017

Normally, we have to wait until the summer months before we start seeing the superhero films that come out during the year, but in 2017, our first comic book movie is actually coming out February 10th: The Lego Batman Movie!

Since most people like to go with the flow and wear t-shirts and apparel related to these films when they go see them (I know I do when I can, just to get into the spirit), Batman gear will be on the rise. But since this is still the winter, why not take advantage of the ability to also embrace the one time of the year you can swear Christmas sweaters and get away with it?

Fanboys Anonymous recently partnered up with Fun.com to bring you the Rogue One: A Star Wars Story Funko Pop! giveaway, but they also offer plenty of other merchandise on their website, including an exclusive line of sweaters based on and inspired by DC Comics characters and more.

One of my favorites of the bunch is this Batman Christmas cardigan:

Winter is coming and that means it's time for the holidays. It's the perfect time to pack away the Batsuit, put on a comfortable cardigan and roast chestnuts over an open fire with the family. But now, you can do it in full Batman style. This Christmas Batman Cardigan has a fit and style that any DC Super Hero fan can appreciate during the chilly months of the year. The sweater has a button up front with Bat-symbols and snowflakes that wrap around the chest and shoulders, providing a unique Batman style that adds a heroic feel to any holiday party.

    • 100% Acrylic
    • V-neck cardigan has shawl collar, covered buttons at center front
    • Ribbed cuffs, collar, waistband & edge band
    • Knitted-in bats & snowflakes
    • Officially Licensed

I grabbed one for myself and even though I'm not normally a sweater guy, I find it to be super comfortable. Plus, I'll admit, I find it funny that I've gotten away with wearing it out in public and nobody's noticed that instead of snowflakes, there are Batman logos all over the place. I'm dumb like that, I know. It's just stylish enough to pull off being a regular cardigan but also lets you embrace your inner fanboy.

If Batman's not your style, then be sure to check out the other DC and ugly Christmas sweaters they have to offer including Wonder Woman, Superman, Star Wars, The Nightmare Before Christmas and even Ghostbusters (you can just tell your friends it's the original logo and ignore the new film was ever made).

I'll be wearing this opening night for The Lego Batman Movie because even if that ends up being a disappointment, I'll at least be comfortable while I watch them make fun of my favorite superhero. Stay tuned to Fanboys Anonymous for a review of the film when it comes out and keep checking out Fun.com for more awesome shirts, costumes, toys and everything else!

Star Wars Ugly Christmas Sweater Review (Stormtrooper with Reindeer Antlers)

Posted by Anthony Mango - Saturday, December 17, 2016

After last year's release of Star Wars: Episode VII - The Force Awakens breaking box office records and Rogue One: A Star Wars Story currently out in theaters right now, the Star Wars franchise has carved out a niche in December's already packed holiday season.

While you're celebrating Christmas, why not combine it with your love of the galaxy far, far away by merging the two together with TV Store Online's selection of Star Wars ugly Christmas sweaters?

TVSO has a wide variety of "ugly Christmas sweaters" ranging from all sorts of topics, but in particular, Star Wars is the theme that stands out as the most abundant as there are over 20 different designs to choose from, including my favorite of the bunch, the Stormtrooper With Reindeer Antlers Ugly Christmas Sweater.

How do you make a truly ugly Christmas sweater with a Stormtrooper? Give him antlers, of course! The design for this holiday sweater is absolutely atrocious, making it perfect for any contest. If you’re going to take part in this beloved holiday tradition, you might as well get a Christmas sweater that represents one of your favorite franchises! Show off your inner Star Wars nerd with the help of this funny Stormtrooper sweater. Bring a smile to everyone’s face with this officially licensed Star Wars sweater!

    • 100% Acrylic
    • Adult unisex sizes
    • Runs Small; ORDER ONE SIZE LARGER
    • Great add on for Ugly Christmas Sweater parties
    • Officially Licensed

I'm not a sweater guy, but this is super comfortable, and if I'm going to embrace the ugly Christmas sweater season, I might as well do it with some Star Wars flair while I'm at it, right?

So if you're looking for a gift for someone this Christmas, you want to sneak in a movie reference for your holiday dinner or you're looking for a talking piece for everyone who will laugh at the mashup of imagery instead of the standard trees and Santa Claus and snowmen, be sure to check out TV Store Online and order one today!

Unboxing SuperHeroStuff Star Wars Rebel Scum HeroBox December 2016

Posted by Anthony Mango - Friday, December 16, 2016

We're back with another unboxing video from SuperHeroStuff.com for December 2016 to celebrate the upcoming release of the Rogue One: A Star Wars Story along with the holiday season rapidly approaching.

That's no moon...that's a mystery box! The STAR WARS: REBEL SCUM HEROBOX® to be exact. Celebrate the original trilogy and the release of Rogue One with two curated collections of Star Wars awesomeness: the Gold Edition and the Silver Edition. Limited to just 450 boxes.

Prepare for intergalactic war with our new limited edition mystery box featuring our favorites from the Star Wars Saga and this December's Rogue One. How exactly do Jyn Erso and her team of resistance fighters get the plans to the Death Star? That's not nearly as big of a mystery as what's inside this box.

The Empire can be a bunch of real jerks, can't they? Way back in the day, the galaxy was a nice democratically elected republic with senators, politics, and lobbying just like we have today. Unfortunately due to the machinations of the Sith, the Republic was destroyed through a series of measures that the democratically elected senate decided was a good idea. In order to preserve 'safety' of the Republic-Turned-Empire against the Confederacy of Independent Systems and newly born Rebel Alliance, the Senate was destroyed and all power given to the Chancellor...who turned out to be Sith! Awwww! We were bamboozled!

Of course people in the galaxy can't just sit by idly as the galaxy's freedoms and liberties are trampled. Oh no, they have to do something! Adopting the symbol of the House of Marek(thank you Force Unleashed), the Rebel Alliance decided to stick it to the Empire. Not only did they blow up the Death Star once, but twice...and maybe a third time if you count Starkiller base! On the bright side of things, we are going to get even more Rebel Alliance themed goodies...and here I thought 'Rogue Squadron' was the best we were going to get! Star Wars: Rogue One is a brand new moving coming out soon that will finally tell us the story on how the original Death Star plans were stolen. All I know is it involved Bothans!

What is the best way to lend your support to the Rebel Alliance while at the same time showing solidarity against the Empire and the Sith? You have plenty options available to you! You could go sign up at your local Jedi Temple or you could hop in your X-Wing, A-Wing, Y-Wing, or if you are super fancy B-Wing and come help the war effort! Oh, you don't know where your local Jedi Temple is and you don't have any spacecraft? That's alright...you could always just get the SuperheroStuff Rebel Scum HeroBox! 'Scum' here is of course a term of endearment that the Imperials will never understand. They thing it is some kind of derogatory term! HA! The Rebel Scum HeroBox is available in two different types. A normal one for those that are still leery of the Empire's reach while the ultimate one contains everything a rebel would need(has hand-picked by our exceptionally trained droids)! You'll get a shirt but beyond that it is anybody's guess! You could get buttons, lanyards, POP Fun FUNKO figures, pint glasses, travel mugs, beanies, hackey sacks, ice cube trays, fabric flags...all sorts of goodies! They all have the Rebel Alliance in common though and how often do you get to see a mystery gift box with such laser focus? Exactly!

    Gold Edition: $69
    Silver Edition: $49

Top 5 Cosplays at PAX East 2016

Posted by The Dace Man - Saturday, April 23, 2016

What is up, Dacetacular Nation? Chris "The Dace Man" Dace here, bringing you some exclusive coverage of PAX East 2016 and all the awesomeness that went on between those convention walls.

One of the most fascinating things about any convention you go to is the commitment from the cosplayers of the world! Ladies and Gentleman, I assure you that the folks up at PAX East 2016 did not disappoint. The Dace Man Show snapped several pictures which can be found on their Facebook page, but below are the Top 5 cosplayers that made them do a double take.

    5. Fall Out

Fall Out 4 Easter Eggs and Cheats

These gentleman paraded around the convention halls of PAX East bearing their flag and awesome Fall Out costumes. The reason this comes in at number five on my list was because the flag kept hitting me in the face, and of course my excellent photography skills cropped out the flag. Good one Dace.

    4 Red Son Superman

If you're an avid listener to The Dace Man Show on Tuesday Nights on Mega Powers Radio, you know exactly why this one made the list. Red Son Superman is essentially....Nicholas Andrew incarnate. Naturally, when I saw this gentleman walking around, I had to take a photo of him for Nicholas.

    3. League of Legends

League of Legends Tournaments and News

I'm going to have to be honest with you. I have no idea what this character is but I know it is from League of Legends. The detail that went into her costume caught my eye from accros the convention hall and I immediately had to get a picture of her for the world to see!

    2. Super Girl

Super Girl Season 2 News and Rumors
Honestly, the number one and two spot on this list can be interchanged because of the "oh my gosh" moments I had when I first saw the cosplays. Now I'll explain why number one is number one in the last pic, but holy hell did this girl knock it out of the park with her cosplay. Like Super Girl to the tee. Bravo, maybe now I'll watch the show.

    1. Mr. Bubbles

Seriously, Mr. Fricken Bubbles from Lilo & Stitch. Nobody does that, and that is why he is number one on my list. When I was walking behind him through the convention hall I just assumed "Oh Hey another Hitman Cosplay, without the barcode." The moment he turned though, I reverted to a little child and immediately asked him for a picture. Well done, sir!

Slow clap for all the cosplayers at PAX East this weekend, and make sure you check out all the other photo's snapped by The Dace Man Show over at their Facebook page!

As always, check back regularly to see what Chris "The Dace Man" Dace is looking at (and no, not just porn), as well as all of the other bloggers here at Fanboys Anonymous. Remember, keyboard warriors: leave your feedback! Until the next time, for the few, the proud, and, of course, the Dacetacular, grab a beer—and in this case a video game controller—and check out what's going on here in the Dace-Sphere. See ya next time!

Support the Code 8 Superhero Short Film Starring Robbie Amell

Posted by Anthony Mango - Friday, April 15, 2016

Every so often, a short film catches my attention and I feel the need to share it with the fanboy community. Such is the case with Director Jeff Chan's film Code 8, which shows a more reserved side of what a world with superpowers could be.

A desperate young man possessing special powers clashes with a militarized police force after committing a petty crime.
