Week in Geek #157: Heroes Don't Go Down? and More

Posted by Anthony Mango Friday, June 18, 2021

Welcome to another edition of WEEK IN GEEK here at Fanboys Anonymous—a rundown of some of the events, news and stories that went down over the past few days in the geek culture spectrum.

This week in geek culture Fanboys Anonymous nerd recap

Here are some of the topics I felt like voicing my opinions about:

Kraven vs Chameleon

That Kraven film that I think is a bad idea? Well, rumor has it, there's another bad idea going on for the villain, which would be Chameleon.

Just because they're related doesn't mean they should fight each other.

Kraven is best as a hunter of Spider-Man and Chameleon is best as someone who is framing someone like Spider-Man. This definitely shouldn't be some "Kraven gets framed and now the hunter has become the hunted" thing.

Batman Never Goes Down

...on Catwoman, apparently.

A scene in the upcoming season of the Harley Quinn cartoon was going to show Batman "going down on Catwoman" that was nixed because DC said "Heroes don't do that."

"We sell consumer toys for heroes. It's hard to sell a toy if Batman is also going down on someone."

I'd love to see what the context of this was, cause it seems kind of ridiculous that such a fuss was made about this on a show that is silly as hell.

Titans Season 3 Teaser

Joker is going to kill Jason Todd and we're going to get Red Hood?! Duuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuude!

Loki Theories

After having watched episode 2, I'm thinking a few things about the trajectory of this series:

  • Lady Loki is an amalgamation of that character and Enchantress.
  • The TVA will undoubtedly be villains, but I don't think Mobius is one of the problems. I'm expecting Renslayer to be the other true main villain. She's either acting on behalf of corrupt Timekeepers or they don't even exist (at least anymore) and she's just pretending that they are so she can have her control with some ominous beings above her that people fear.
  • I had thought Loki was going to willingly reset the timeline and fix the error from stealing the Tesseract. Now, I think they're going to keep him as part of the TVA and it will be something where he's going to keep doing this job, having found his calling (and glorious purpose).
  • Even though we should see Kang, I don't think we will.
