Week in Geek #156: Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom, Skaar in She-Hulk, and More | Fanboys Anonymous

Welcome to another edition of WEEK IN GEEK here at Fanboys Anonymous—a rundown of some of the events, news and stories that went down over the past few days in the geek culture spectrum.

This week in geek culture Fanboys Anonymous nerd recap

Here are some of the topics I felt like voicing my opinions about:

Masters of the Universe Trailer

I'm not a fan of the series, but Kevin Smith's animated show set to come out on Netflix actually looks like it might be kind of worth watching! I might have to check it out.

Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom

That is the title of the sequel film. Not knowing what the plot is, I think it just sounds like it makes sense, so I'm down for it. Of course, I don't think there's really a lot of momentum for this film to begin with and I wouldn't mind efforts being focused on something else, but the first one was fine, so I'll check it out.

Ben Mendelsohn and Forest Whitaker Returning for Andor

Rumor has it we'll see Orson Krennic and Saw Gerrera returning in the Andor prequel show.

Frankly, I don't think the former's true, but the latter is. A quick appearance from Whitaker wouldn't be too difficult, but I don't know how you'd get Krennic showing up in a story about Andor when their paths don't theoretically cross until the events of Rogue One.

Disney+ Plans for Free Access to Black Widow

As the world opens back up again (whether or not that's a good idea), Black Widow is releasing in theaters, but you can pay $30 for the Premier Access on Disney+. But when is it coming to the regular Disney+ for just the standard subscription cost?

Apparently, October 6th. Basically, you're going to have to wait 3 months. All things considered, that's not bad. We used to have to wait a lot longer to get DVDs and if you're interested in seeing the movie, you'll go see it in the first 2 weeks.

Skaar

Rumor has it Skaar—the son of Hulk—is going to appear in some fashion in She-Hulk.

I don't buy it. I think this is the type of thing that gets put out there because there's a relation to the character and it creates some buzz.

What I would believe is that Amadeus Cho could appear, as Dr. Helen Cho was in Age of Ultron and we haven't seen her since then. I'd also buy into some totally random supporting characters that even I know nothing about, like Marlo Chandler, Kate Waynesboro and others maybe being in there. Frankly, I'm surprised Rick Jones hasn't been in the MCU yet, too.
