Week in Geek #36: Terminator Dark Fate and More

Posted by Anthony Mango Sunday, February 10, 2019
Welcome to another edition of WEEK IN GEEK here at Fanboys Anonymous—a rundown of some of the events, news and stories that went down over the past few days in the geek culture spectrum.

This week in geek culture Fanboys Anonymous nerd recap

Here are some of the topics I felt like voicing my opinions about:

Justice League vs. The Fatal Five Trailer

Loving the animation, I absolutely love the voice actors of course (Kevin Conroy and Tim Daly / George Newbern are my ideal Batman and Superman in my mind) and although this trailer doesn't give me much to go on, I'm still excited. Is this technically in continuity with the end of Justice League Unlimited??

Star Wars: Episode IX - Balance of the Force

Supposedly, that's the title. If so, I like it. I used that in a fan fiction thing I had written before. Hopefully, it's also a nod to how they need to find the right balance to fix this franchise that they've greatly hindered...

Also, this rumor that there is a threat from outside the universe is what 7-8-9 should have been, not this random shit about setting up that the heroes from the original trilogy are failures and it's up to Rey and only Rey to save the galaxy. This should have been that over the course of the 30 years from Return of the Jedi, Luke has spent that time learning more and trying to build up a new class of Jedi, while the Republic is still forming, and they've been dealing with the political spectrum and cleaning up the galaxy, which left them vulnerable to attack from the outside now that there isn't a massive empire to combat them.

Terminator: Dark Fate

That's the working title, and I sincerely hope they change it. That's just not great. Depending on what the story is (which I would really hope is "John Connor struggles with the start of the war" to a certain extent, cause it seems like they're ignoring John so far and that's making me nervous) I'd like a title to be more poignant and not so much the "edgy cool marketing" type. Maybe give me something like Terminator: No Fate even.
