Week in Geek #88: Sam Raimi to Direct Doctor Strange 2 and More

Posted by Anthony Mango Saturday, February 8, 2020
Welcome to another edition of WEEK IN GEEK here at Fanboys Anonymous—a rundown of some of the events, news and stories that went down over the past few days in the geek culture spectrum.

This week in geek culture Fanboys Anonymous nerd recap

Here are some of the topics I felt like voicing my opinions about:

Sam Raimi to Direct Doctor Strange 2

You know...this could be pretty cool. He has horror experience, he has superhero experience...I dig it.

The Lodge

Got a chance to see this the other day. I'm not even a big horror fan and I enjoyed it. I didn't at all think that was Alicia Silverstone, though. That took me by surprise.

Parasite

Also finally got a chance to see this, too, and I DEFINITELY recommend it to everybody.
Birds of Prey

I still don't know if I'm going to bother doing a Reviewpoint podcast about this or not. Suffice it to say, if I'm giving my quick thoughts: it is exactly what I pictured it would be, and that's not a good thing. It's not at all a Birds of Prey film. It's just a movie that was made if someone's only goals were to copy Deadpool (but not as good) and focus on Harley Quinn and girl power.

What's up with these slow news weeks?

There isn't anything to talk about anymore that I'm coming across these past bunch of weeks. Maybe its just me. Maybe I'm not tapping into the right information, or I'm just not all that interested in what's going on. As always, if there is something going on that you want my opinion about, let me know.
