Week in Geek #42: Toy Story 4 and Stranger Things Trailers and More

Welcome to another edition of WEEK IN GEEK here at Fanboys Anonymous—a rundown of some of the events, news and stories that went down over the past few days in the geek culture spectrum.

This week in geek culture Fanboys Anonymous nerd recap

Here are some of the topics I felt like voicing my opinions about:

The Batman May Be Set in the 1990s

Uuuuuuuuuggggh stop it with these stupid gimmicks!!! The X-Men films didn't need to be doing this whole decade-specific things, Captain Marvel certainly didn't need to be set in the 90s, Wonder Woman doesn't need to be in the 80s and The Batman certainly shouldn't be trying to aim for some 90s nostalgia. I love the 90s. I grew up in that decade. But let's keep the nostalgia stuff to things that actually dictate it and stop with the "wouldn't it be interesting if X superhero film was set in X decade? That's all we have to offer to this project" nonsense.

Toy Story 4 Trailer

I like Forky, but I'm really curious how they're mashing so many of these stories into one. It almost seems like they had 3 or 4 ideas that weren't good enough on their own and threw them into the same movie. I hope that isn't the case. I want this to be as good as the first three. What's up with Bo Peep being so different, too?

Bill and Ted Face the Music

The title totally works, and The synopsis sounds as silly as it should (Bill and Ted are now family men and have yet to write the song that will save the world, and the universe starts to goes to hell so they look for inspiration.)

Stranger Things Season 3 Trailer

Big fan of the first two seasons, so I'm definitely pumped for this. I'm really hoping we get some natural progression with all the characters from the past season, rather than skipping too much from season 2 with the time jump. They do all look so much older, it's crazy. Fuuuuck walking down a hallway and seeing that spider monster thing. And we can all agree Cary Elwes is going to be a villain and die, right?

Possible Avengers: Endgame Runtime

Rumor has it the movie is going to be 3 hours and 3 minutes. If so, awesome!!! I want them to take as much time as they can. Give me everything. Give me a 12 hour movie and I'll sit happily in the theater and geek out.
