![X-Men: Apocalypse To Be Set in 1983, 10 Years After Days of Future Past. CONFIRMED Upcoming X-Men: Apocalypse Film To Be Set In the 80's Stephen Kinberg Confirms](https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgKuyoXFllsGSMBM-0J-j8tLg_JptBrJa7MG6erm-c5ASEbG1PCt9B9Gm4n1qMV2h9k3kv2kuh_teVVAr29SABdDeygw5M7NGrNLgSBrTPCHob9L9j7Byv2Z6FpNfkFxuYYNZUSONmQdem9/s1600/3823685-2406000218-X-Men.jpg)
The news was confirmed via a Q&A podcast with the movie's writer and producer, Simon Kinberg.
The events of the film will occur in 1983 to be precise, which will be 10 years after X-Men: Days of Future Past. Seeing as how that took place in the '70s, and it's predecessor, X-Men: First Class, was set in the '60s, it's only natural that the new film follows suit with this theme.
X-Men: Apocalypse will be hitting cinemas on May 27, 2016—which is quite a long time away—so get to the cinema and watch X-Men: Days of Future Past, which is currently being shown now!
