Fox's Gotham has cast the hero it needs, though not the one with pointy ears. OC and Southland veteran Ben McKenzie has been set to play Detective Gordon in Fox's series detailing the early years of Gotham before Batman's arrival. McKenzie is an interesting casting choice, particularly because it won't mark the first time McKenzie has entered the world of the Dark Knight.McKenzie recently voiced Bruce Wayne/Batman in the DC Animated adaptation of Batman: Earth One, a comic set just a few years following the time period they hope to depict in the live action show. It's been confirmed that McKenzie's Gordon will go up against classic Batman villains like the Riddler and the Penguin.
