Georges St-Pierre Cast as Batroc the Leaper in Captain America: The Winter Soldier | Fanboys Anonymous
Canadian MMA fighter Georges St-Pierre has apparently been cast as Georges Batroc the Leaper in the upcoming Marvel Cinematic Universe film Captain America: The Winter Soldier.

This comes off the recent news that both Robert Redford would join the cast as a senior member of SHIELD named Pierce and that former WWE wrestler Dave Bautista would be Drax in another Phase 2 film, Guardians of the Galaxy.

I'm actually very pleased with this. I'm assuming that the role that Batroc plays in the script is minimal and I've always been a huge fan of these movies incorporating cameos for characters in the comics rather than creating new ones (similar to how they used Arnim Zola as a scientist aid for Red Skull instead of thinking of him as too big of a character to include in that capacity). Since the role will most likely be small and an action sequence, what better person to get than someone who is already athletic, brings a natural French influence to the role, LOOKS like the character, and is perhaps most importantly popular enough that he could give the film more of an exposure?

What do you think of this casting choice as well as the inclusion of Batroc the Leaper in the sequel? Leave us a comment below!
