Things are starting to heat up for the upcoming Ant-Man film as 2015 and Phase 3 of the Marvel Cinematic Universe approaches fast. The most recent bit of news is a leaked photo of the Yellowjacket suit that will be featured in the film, as seen below:
Fans of the comics should be familiar with Yellowjacket as one of the many, many personas that Dr. Henry "Hank" Pym has taken on over the years. However, just as Ultron's origins are being changed for the MCU, Yellowjacket is undergoing some alterations as well.
In a departure for this adaptation, the Yellowjacket moniker is actually going to be used by the villain of the film, Darren Cross (Corey Stoll), who will fight it out with the second Ant-Man from the comics, Scott Lang (Paul Rudd) rather than Pym.
It can be assumed that Yellowjacket will have the same powers as Ant-Man—namely size-shifting and the ability to talk to insects—and considering how similar the suits look to each other, that seems to help confirm that theory. However, it's possible that the extra stingers shown here may give Yellowjacket the edge in battle somehow and may even be where the Bio-Sting energy is fired from. I wouldn't put it past the creators of the film to be using Yellowjacket as a source of inspiration for the Wasp character, either, as the two are similar in more ways than one.

A poster for Syfy's anticipated Sharknado 3 has been spotted out in the world by news and fan website Shock Til You Drop, and this time it looks like it could have a sci-fi element to it!
The only plot summary released is that the film brings the franchise's hilariously bizarre weather phenomenon span the East Coast of the United States, from Washington, D.C. to Florida.
The poster shows outer space, rockets, and glowing shark eyes. I really hope this is genuine, as it will raise the bar on Syfy channel's excellent B-Movie offerings.
Sharknado 3 is due to be released 2015. Watch this space for more information.

Ever since Ocarina of Time 3D was released for the 3DS back in 2011, fans have been wondering if Nintendo would take the next step and give Majora's Mask the same 3D remake treatment. Finally, during a Nintendo Direct three years later, Nintendo has announced The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask 3D!

Little is known about the game other than it will be released in spring 2015. For me personally, just the fact that this game exists is all I need to make me beyond excited right now.

This year's Youmacon was wonderfully fun and full of talented and inspired cosplayers. My husband and co-host of Addicted to Anime, Stephen, and I spent two amazing days at Youmacon and saw so many amazing cosplays. I can't put them all here because there are so many photos, although you can see them on our Facebook page. Because of the sheer size of Youmacon, we're sure there are also plenty of other amazing cosplays we never even got to see. I'm going to share with you some of my personal favorites that we were able to snag photos of.
This group of Legend of Zelda cosplayers definitely caught our attention! The Navi cosplayer stayed in character the entire con, chasing people around the con and shouting "Hey! Listen!" and "Watch out!"
This Celestia Ludenberg cosplay from the anime Dangan Ronpa was beautifully put together, right down to the oversized hair. Detail to the dress was also spot on.
These Kirito and Asuna cosplayers from Sword Art Online caught our attention with their attention to detail. Their weapons are perfect, right down to Kirito's dual wielding.
I saw this cosplay while eating lunch and I just had to approach her. The pictures truly do not do this cosplay justice. I cannot for the life of me remember just what she was cosplaying, but I couldn't leave this cosplay out.
This Maka Albarn cosplayer, from Soul Eater, was traveling with the previous cosplayer. It seems that good cosplayers travel in groups! It's obvious she put a lot of effort in to her prop and thought into her cosplay.
This Kiki cosplay, from Kiki's Delivery Service, is a simple yet wonderful piece. Kiki's Delivery Service is a film by the very popular Japanese film director and artist, Hayou Miyazaki.
Assassin's Creed is by far one of my favorite video games. I was ecstatic to see such a talented Assassin's Creed cosplayer. Both her outfit and her props were splendidly made—she even had a functional hidden blade!
We found this gorgeous pair when leaving the People Mover! The picture does not do their face paint and custom lenses justice, trust me. They were cosplaying as their own original characters.
I enjoyed these cosplays of these characters from the Dragonball series, but what really caught our attention was the Flying Nimbus they had created that was even capable of moving. I saw them wheeling around the convention on their Flying Nimbus on more than one occasion!
This Lucy Cosplayer from Elfen Lied made Stephen and I immediately become giddy! We're both huge fans of that anime, and she was the first cosplayer in the many, many conventions we have attended to actually create the vectors. She said that this was her very first cosplay that she has ever put together.

Carnage-Man, Carnage-Man…oops, sorry! I've got a tune stuck in my head now, and it's all thanks to the newest Carnage miniseries spinning off from Marvel's current AXIS event. AXIS: Carnage is a very special chapter to the symbiotic serial killer's bloody saga, after Cletus Kasady and his murderous symbiote have experienced an existential crisis following his previous breakout adventure in Deadpool vs. Carnage. Written by Rick Spears with art by Germán Peralta and Rain Beredo, this miniseries will assuredly mark a turning point in Carnage's career.
Deadpool vs. Carnage left our main man questioning the true nature of chaos as the Merc with a Mouth was able to find Carnage's patterns in his seemingly random slaughter spree. So much was Carnage left stupefied that he even locked himself up in a psychiatric hospital until he could figure out what to make of the complex situation he found himself in. His detention didn't last long, though, as Magneto managed to reason with him that the most random and chaotic thing he could do next was to help Magneto and his team of villains become heroes and save the world from the Red Onslaught (the Red Skull transformed into Onslaught) and his World War Hate (Magneto #11). During the battle, Doctor Doom and the Scarlet Witch managed to stop the Red Onslaught by executing an inversion spell, which reverted the crazed Nazi into his former self and turned the villains into heroes.
AXIS: Carnage #1 picks up from the inversion theme and tells a story about how Carnage struggles to become a superhero. The inversion spell was nothing like any other reality-changing spells that present an altered history where Carnage's origins were heroic; instead, Carnage is mystically driven to abandon his villainous past and antics with the desire of becoming recognized as one of the good guys. His psychopathic and murderous urges still heavily influence him, though, as he finds it hard to understand what being a hero really means.
Meanwhile, the Sin Eater returns to the land of the living, starting once more with his holy inquisition—this time with a focus on news reporters. It's unclear whether this Sin Eater is the original (the late NYPD detective Stan Carter) or the copycat (the late Michael Engleshwert, as he appeared in Venom: Sinner Takes All), but two things are for certain: one of them is dead for sure, and this new one is clearly not of this world.
Sadly, the Sin Eater's connection to Venom (Eddie Brock) is never mentioned in this issue, but I still hold hope that this new one draws comparisons at some point between Carnage and his symbiote daddy. Despite this minor Venomaniac gripe, this is perhaps one of the most Carnage books to have been printed in recent history, mainly because Carnage was treated as the protagonist of the story! (Look back at every Carnage miniseries that has been published in the past five years, and you'll note that only the Superior Carnage Annual book had Cletus Kasady as the lead character.)
Spears managed to make this story feel very '90s, but in the best way possible. Carnage had three series (Venom: Carnage Unleashed, Carnage: Mind Bomb, and Carnage: It's a Wonderful Life) in which readers experienced the story from Carnage's perspective or which delved into his psychology. This book does the same in a snide and fun way as he struggles as a serial killer becoming a hero. I've never watched Dexter, but I have a feeling that fans of the show would love reading this book.
Peralta and Beredo's art works well with Carnage's inverted morality, as it replaces the darkness and grittiness previous books have become accustomed to with the lighter and more action-packed layouts of a superhero book. Carnage is still frightening as ever, though, which is a good thing since it reminds both the readers and the general public in the comic that he was once a monster. I had only two gripes and a brief note about the art, though: first, Carnage should never be drawn with a tongue. Venom is the symbiote known for his tongue; Carnage never had a tongue in his early days, and shouldn't to avoid the common misconception of being called a "Red Venom." Second, Peralta gave the Sin Eater human eyes and skin under the mask on page two but was revealed to be nothing more than a ghastly green skeleton beneath the mask later on. It's a minor continuity issue, but it's noticeable.
AXIS: Carnage #1 gets 5 stars out of 5 for the writing and 4.5 stars out of 5 for the art. This is a definite must-read for any symbiote fan, especially if you were (for some odd reason) disappointed with the last Carnage miniseries. Will the inversion stick with Carnage after AXIS?
