The official main cast, as per StarWars.com, consists of John Boyega, Daisy Ridley, Adam Driver, Oscar Isaac, Andy Serkis, Domhnall Gleeson, and Max von Sydow.
These new faces will join the original stars of the saga: Harrison Ford, Carrie Fisher, Mark Hamill, Anthony Daniels, Peter Mayhew, and Kenny Baker!
Many locations have been prepared already and filming starts in May from a script by JJ Abrams and Lawrence Kasdan (The Empire Strikes Back screenwriter!).
"We are so excited to finally share the cast of Star Wars: Episode VII," says Abrams. "It is both thrilling and surreal to watch the beloved original cast and these brilliant new performers come together to bring this world to life, once again. We start shooting in a couple of weeks, and everyone is doing their best to make the fans proud."
They'd better be, the last trilogy was so ill received it tainted one of the most beloved franchises in history. Episode II made the right decision in using less Jar Jar after fans voiced their outrage at the character. They also got rid of any mention of midichlorians, the microscopic thingies that give Jedis their powers that nobody knew about until 1999.
Most fans seem to be, as comedian Maria Bamford would put it, "paralyzed with hope" when thinking about what to expect. Many fear Abrams could do just as much damage as Episodes I-III did, but everyone seems to think these new films will, at the very least, be more entertaining.
The movie will enter your eyeballs on December 18th, 2015. The questions remains: how many times will you see it?
