"Preacher" Lands a Pilot Order at AMC

Posted by Unknown Sunday, November 17, 2013
While the development of a Preacher TV series has been speculated for quite some time, it became official today that Garth Ennis' legendary Vertigo series has received a pilot order from AMC.

Garth Ennis' Vertigo comic Preacher will get a pilot at AMCThe news of a new comic based series on AMC shouldn't come to much surprise. The Walking Dead has garnered continuously expanding success for the company and with long time staple Breaking Bad concluded it seems only natural for AMC to try and replace the successful show with something in a similar vain to one of their other powerhouses. Still, Preacher is a daring selection for cable.

Past rumors have speculated Preacher would head to HBO or another premium channel where it's graphic content and religious themes may be more comfortably depicted. Cable has seen a revolution over the last ten years, however, and while Preacher may still push the envelope it could now come as a welcomed confrontation to the norm.

Fans of the series should remain cautiously optimistic as Wonder Woman made it clear that a pilot is by no means an indication a show will ever be made. Stay tuned to fanboysanonymous.com for further developments on the project. Who would you like to see casted in the Preacher pilot.
