What is up Dacetacular Nation? It's that time of year that makes all the Fanboys and Fangirls giddy with joy. The Christmas for nerds taking place out on the West coast. Take a moment and breathe it in: It's San Diego Comic Con.
This bit news from the utopia for nerds comes from AMC. The Walking Dead last left us with Rick assuming charge over Alexandria in a very forceful way. Little did he know that as he was doing it, an old friend from episode one had returned: Morgan.
Now we have to wait until October 11 before the fun starts again, but to hold us over until then, Comic Con has brought us a little snippet of what's to come. Check out The Walking Dead season six trailer below.
As always, check back regularly to see what Chris "The Dace Man" Dace is looking at (and no, not just porn), as well as all of the other bloggers here at Fanboys Anonymous. Hey there Fanboys and Fangirls. The Dace Man is back with some more San Diego Comic Con news. It's the time of the year where we, the nerds, get to rejoice in the coming year of all things geeky.
In this bit of news, CW has officially announced the next big baddie in the Arrow franchise. Oliver Queen will have his hands full when he goes toe-to-toe with Damien Darhk. This was hinted at last season; while Oliver squared up with Ra's al Ghul, Damien Darhk briefly visited Starling City.
Darhk will be played by Justified's Neal McDonough, or better known to the comic book fan nation as Dum Dum Duggan in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
UPDATE: Anarky will also be a villain for the next season, but the Arrow team will be getting a new ally with Mr. Terrific!
Season 4 of Arrow is set to premiere on Wednesday, October 7, 2015.

The Netflix hit took the Internet by storm when it released a few months back, climbing to number one spot. News has been flooding from the Marvel camp about casting and story arcs that may or may not happen in season two.
One thing that is certain is these shots from the set of Hell's Kitchen! Take a look at the cast in action from these shots by Shelly Kay.
Sure, there are no shots of Jon Berenthal as The Punisher or any signs of Kingpin or Elektra, but hey, it's good to see Matt Murdock out and about on the streets of New York City!

Hours before the doors to the second annual Special Edition: NYC (SENYC) comics-only convention opened, a crowd full of comic book enthusiasts, masked villains, and caped crusaders had already begun to form, and once again New York City got a glimpse of spandex-clad superheroes/heroines and their villains far off their respective comic book pages.
SENYC took place at Pier 94 on June 6 and 7 and gave attendees something that New York Comic Con (NYCC) hasn't for years: an intimate experience to celebrate comics and interact with their creators. ReedPOP's impressive line-up of creators included Amy Reeder (Rocket Girl), Brenden Fletcher (Batgirl), Mark Texeria (Ghost Rider), Greg Pak (Batman/Superman), and Jason Latour (Spider-Gwen).
ReedPOP had announced on June 3 that they had reclaimed NYCC tickets from scalpers and added them to the allotment sold at SENYC, so when the convention began at 10 a.m. fans wasted no time forming a line reminiscent to that seen when entering the larger pop-culture convention. Organizers soon capped the line to discourage it from encompassing the entire entrance. Tickets were set to go back on sale an hour later, but no one seemed to budge.
The convention floor of Pier 94 was dark as fans hovered over various comics tables. Most of the crowd gathered around the rows of Artist Alley to get up close and personal with their favorite creators. Unlike NYCC, the convention's panels were small and easy to get into, but that didn't mean they were any less interesting. Marvel's "Next Big Thing" panel kicked off the convention; it was held by Brian Michael Bendis (All-New X-Men), Marguerite Bennett (A-Force), Peter David (Spider-Man 2099), and Charles Soule (Inhumans: Attilan Rising). During the panel, Bendis put rumors to rest as he confirmed that his new Iron Man series will star Tony Stark and will not be a reboot. Big things were announced for this fall with Cosplay variants featuring cosplayers on comic book covers, shot by Judy Stephens of Marvel.
Other panels covered topics specifically geared toward indie creators and those trying to break into the industry, including how storytellers develop their ideas into narratives and the business behind comics from checks to contracts.
Of course, no comics convention would be complete without the cosplayers—and there were no shortage of excellent participants at SENYC. View the photos below.

The experience overall was relaxing compared to NYCC and its overwhelming 130,000 attendees. SENYC's dim lighting and casual atmosphere made it feel like a basement hangout for geeks as we talked and read comics.

J.J. Abrams and the production team on Star Wars: Episode VII—The Force Awakens are still remaining as hush as possible with details on the upcoming film, but as time goes on, more information is being released.
Just recently, Vanity Fair did a piece on the film, and in that process, we got confirmation that Adam Driver will be the villain Kylo Ren, Gwendoline Christie is definitely Captain Phasma, and Lupito Nyong'o will be playing a character named Maz Kanata.
Who the hell is Maz Kanata? At first, we just knew the name, that it would involve motion capture, and that she was described as some kind of "space pirate" in some fashion. Now, to go along with those details, we have our first visual look at the character:
My first reaction was to laugh at green E.T. in a do-rag. To be fair, that imagery still hasn't left my brain, and I'm not exactly loving it. I have a feeling this is going to be the sort of character that I look back on and wish they hadn't spent so much time dealing with. What I love about the Star Wars franchise isn't the different-looking aliens or the spaceships and blasters, but the Jedi. If this goes back to the original trilogy where it has much more of a Star Trek feel to it, I'll be disappointed. The idea of a space pirate is dumb to me, and when it looks ridiculous like this, it doesn't exactly win me over.
I'm still pumped for the movie, but I'm starting to get a little worried that while the tone might be great and the visual effects should be fantastic, I might not like the plot itself. If they announce that Domhnall Gleeson is Ben Skywalker, it'll make up for this, but right now, this image did more to damage the hype for the movie for me than make me excited.
What do you think of Maz Kanata? Are you looking forward to Lupita Nyong'o bringing this alien to life? Tell us your thoughts in the comments below!
Produced by Blumhouse Productions (the guys who brought you the Paranormal Activity series, The Purge, The Purge: Anarchy,Dark Skies, and Insidious, to name a few), 2012's micro-budget Sinister grossed over $87 million worldwide. With a story centering around snuff films, child disappearances, and a pagan deity who looks ready to attend a black metal concert, Sinister is a pretty fun horror movie with some nice acting and a killer soundtrack.
Sequel, anyone?
The official movie poster for the sequel
Sossamon plays a mother in Sinister 2.
Written by the same people responsible for the first movie, Scott Derrickson and C. Robert Cargill, Sinister 2 takes place in the aftermath of the shocking events of Sinister. This time around, a protective mother (played by Shannyn Sossamon) and her nine-year-old twin sons (Robert and Dartanian Sloan) move to a rural house marked by death, where the dreadful Buhguul awaits for his next victims.
Haven't seen Sinister yet? SPOILERS follow.
Where did the children go?
The original movie tells the story of true-crime writer Ellison Oswalt (a cardigan-wearing Ethan Hawke) who finds a cache of 8mm homemade films and uncovers a pagan deity, Buhguul, who has been taking lives since the 1960s.
Shot in real 8mm film stock, each movie shows a seemingly innocent activity (fishing, having a fun day at the pool, playing in the yard, a barbecue) and ends with the family being murdered in extremely violent ways:
In the reel entitled "Pool Party '66" a family is drowned in their pool.
In "BBQ '79" the victims are burnt to death in a car.
In "Lawn Work '86" a lawn mower does the deed.
"Sleepy Time '98" shows a family having their throats slit in bed.
Finally, in "Family Hanging Out '11," the family Oswalt is researching for his newest crime book is seen hanging from a tree.
Ransone as Deputy So-and-So.
Oswalt, who becomes obsessed with the films and determined to uncover what truly happened to the victims, realizes all too late that his family might be next.
As one might have guessed, Mr. Hawke will not be back for the sequel. However, James Ransone is back to carry on with his investigation (and possibly figure out what happened to the Oswalts) as the awkwardly inexperienced Deputy So-and-So.
Sinister 2 opens in U.S. theaters on August 21.

One of our readers, Jessica Chan, sent this in to us to check out as she knew we would find it interesting, and she was right! New York Magazine on YouTube has a new video up entitled "If Avengers: Age of Ultron Came Out in 1995," which is an edited movie trailer created to give you the look and feel of TV spots from 20 years ago.
Do you remember Hollywood's fascination with bold, blue text? What about the sounds of steel, bells, and folks like Don LaFontaine? If so, you'll love this, so check it out below!
What do you think of this video? Does it give you that nostalgic feeling? Would the Marvel Cinematic Universe have been awful back in the 1990s? Tell us your thoughts in the comments below!
Greetings, Fanboys and Fangirls! This is Sam Lascio, reporting on April 2nd because there is no way in hell I could believe any story that came out yesterday until it was verified. Darn April Fool's Day.
It seems Ryan Reynolds had a little April Fool's Day fun of his own, when the actor took to his Twitter account to say:
A PG-13 #deadpool will still have 4th wall breaking, a shit-ton of action and at least 3 chimichangas. Zero need to panic. I promise.
Did this surprise anyone? Eh, not really. It's disappointing, but totally doable. Ryan Reynolds even released an interview on the YouTube channel JoBlo Movie Trailers he had with Mario Lopez on the TV show Extra to discuss the rating.
What do you think of the video? Did you love it? Were you thoroughly unimpressed? Sound off your opinions in the comments section! Thanks for reading, everyone. My name is Sam Lascio, and I am a Fanboy!
Greetings, Fanboys and Fangirls! This is Sam Lascio, bringing you the first official look at the costume from Fox's 2016 film Deadpool, in all of its infinite glory:
"Y'know...I find myself oddly aroused."
Mmm, sexy. The photo is meant to parody a photo of Burt Reynolds taken in a similar pose (though more…naked). Ryan Reynolds followed up his tweet of the suit with another tweet:
I don't believe there are any doubts that this is the right man to play Deadpool. So what do you think of the official Deadpool costume? Do you love it? Do you hate it? Is Ryan Reynolds the right guy for the job? Let us know in the comments section! Thanks for reading, everyone. My name is Sam Lascio, and I am a Fanboy!
Greetings, Fanboys and Fangirls! This is Sam Lascio, bringing you the second trailer for the Netflix Daredevil series! You can watch the trailer below:
We get to see a lot more of Vincent D'Onofrio's Kingpin, as well as a better look at Scott Glenn's Stick—the man who trains Matt Murdock as a boy (and in Ultimate Marvel, trains Blade too). I wasn't too crazy about the song that played during the trailer, but I loved the new footage and the subtle Iron Man and Thor references at the very end. This is the first time it's felt like Daredevil is a part of the larger Marvel Cinematic Universe, even with its much darker tone. The first season of Daredevil will premiere on Netflix on April 10th with 13 episodes.
Did you love the trailer? Did you hate it? Let us know in the comments section! Thanks for reading, everyone! And if you're like Daredevil, I'm sorry the Internet doesn't come in braille. My name is Sam Lascio, and I am a Fanboy!
It is common knowledge that death is the only real certainty we have in life. For this reason, many of us decide to lessen the burden on our family members and loved ones by buying life insurance to cover the our final costs and designing a will to divide whatever assets we may have.
Pick your heir wisely.
Apparently, aside from which insurance to buy and how to draft a legal document containing information on our final wishes, many of us are also haunted by another question: What will happen to my social media accounts when I die?
Part of me really wished this was a joke, but a quick search on Google made me realize this is what many 21st-century minds worry about.
Well worry no longer, my friends.
Facebook ;has announced a new setting that will allow users to choose between the options of having their accounts permanently deleted after death or of designating "Legacy Contacts."
The Legacy Contact is a person of your own choosing, a friend or family member, who will have control over the following aspects of your profile when you die:
Change your profile picture and cover photo.
Write a post that will appear at the top of your timeline (for example, to announce a memorial service or share a special message).
Accept friend requests from real-life friends and family who were not connected to you onFacebook before your passing.
According to Vanessa Callison-Burch, a Facebook product manager, these particular features "were among those most requested by Facebook users who gave the company feedback on its memorial-page policies."
On the other hand, the chosen person will not be able to:
View or download your messages.
Edit or delete posts you shared in the past.
Edit or delete posts others have shared on your timeline.
So no one will be able to delete any embarrassing pictures of you, but at least they will not be able to read any kinky messages you might have sent or received.
Leave a legacy, or delete your page?
Want to know how to setup your Legacy Contact now?
Step 1: Go on "Settings" on your Facebook account and click on "Security."
Step 2: Click on "Legacy Contact" and type the name of your choice in the "Choose a friend" box. Note that this page also gives you the option to delete your account instead.
What will you say to your friend in your last message?
Step 3: Review the message your chosen Legacy Contact will receive. This message can be revised so that it is more personal between you and your friend.
Step 4: Once you are satisfied, you can either hit "Send" to have your message sent immediately or choose the "Not Now" option to have the message sent in the future.
Step 5: If you want to allow your Legacy Contact to download posts, photos, videos and/or other content from your account, check the "Data Archive Permission" box.
Done!
When your time comes, Facebook will notify your chosen contact that he or she may now manage your account.
Until now, accounts could only be memorialized by Facebook; they could still be viewed but could not be accessed or edited by anyone else. Callison-Burch believes this new feature is a great step up when it comes to social media:
Our team at Facebook is grateful and humbled to be working on these improvements. We hope this work will help people experience loss with a greater sense of possibility, comfort, and support.
Legacy Contacts are currently only available in the United States, but Facebook looks forward to expand it to other countries.
Setting up a Legacy Contact is completely optional.
What do you think about this Legacy Contact business? Do you think you will use it? Let us know your opinion by leaving your comments below!
Assisted suicide was a hot topic in 2014. Last November Brittany Maynard, a 29-year-old terminal brain cancer patient, ended her life under Oregon's "Death with Dignity Act," and the video explaining her choice amassed more than 9 million views on social media. Today, according to the Death with Dignity National Center, mentally competent, terminally-ill adult residents of Oregon, Washington, and Vermont can "request and receive medication to hasten their death, [which] is one of many end-of-life care options available." Among these options, however, one would never consider using an amusement park ride to do the deed.
Model of the Euthanasia Coaster.
Julijonas Urbonas, a Ph.D. student in Design Interactions at the Royal College of Art in London, designed a plan for a roller coaster that "humanely—with elegance and euphoria—takes the life of a human being."
Named the "Euthanasia Coaster," the hypothetical rides uses concepts in mechanical engineering, airspace medicine, and gravity to create intense motion that ultimately would deprive the brain of oxygen, causing the rider to expire. Before meeting his or her death, however, the rider would experience a range of sensations "from euphoria to thrill, and from tunnel vision to loss of consciousness,"which is commonly known as G-LOC, or acceleration gravitationally induced loss of consciousness, and often affects fighter pilots of high performance or aerobatic aircraft and astronauts.
Urbonas, who has worked in amusement parks since his childhood, explains the whole experience in great detail:
Seated, harnessed with a health monitoring system, and strapped to the seat of a single-seat coaster vehicle, you are slowly towed to the top of the drop-tower. It takes a while, as the ride is about half a kilometre long! Hence, you have a few minutes to contemplate your decision and your life in retrospect. You even find enough time to adapt to the height and get through a series of imaginary fatal falls, while realising that the objects on the ground are getting smaller. Slow lift is an important illusion that intensifies the perception of height. The slightest movement of the car triggers drumming heartbeats and tests your decision (...) If this test has not changed your mind yet, then at this point you have no choice but to submit yourself to the very last fall. Yet you still have a few minutes for the last words and goodbyes, or just enjoying the exhilarating bird’s-eye view of the surroundings. You relax and press the FALL button (...) Your body spins around the heart while you fall (...)The scooting gust of wind, goose bumps, suspension of breath, and vertigo — a set of experiences comprising a sort of fairground anesthesia. (...) You feel your body as if supported by an air pillow. Just after this point, the track smoothly straightens forward, entering the first loop of the coaster, a continuously upward-sloping section of the track that eventually results in a complete 360-degree circle, completely inverting the riders at the topmost part (...) Breathing requires more effort, as the ribs and the rest of the internal organs are pulled down, which empties air from the lungs. But most probably you are already unconscious, as this force rushes the blood to the lower extremities of the body, thereby causing oxygen deficiency in the brain. It is exactly this cerebral suffocation, also known as cerebral hypoxia, that is going to kill you.
If you are still conscious, you are more resistant to the high g-forces than the majority of people, but don’t worry (...) the second loop will definitely do its job. In the meantime, if you are lucky, or, rather, g-force-resistant enough to be awake, your vision may blur, lose colour (greyout) and peripheral sight (tunnel vision), or even disappear completely (blackout), together with hearing. Eventually, this experience—accompanied with disorientation, anxiety, confusion, and, most importantly, euphoria—is crowned with G-LOC (g-force induced loss of consciousness), during which the body is completely limp, and vivid bizarre dreams occur, such as being in a maze and unable to get out, or floating in a white space, not knowing who you are, why you are here, etc.
(...) The rest of the ride, six or five loops, proceeds with your body being numb, ensuring that the trip ends your life. You die, or, more accurately put, your brain dies of complete oxygen deprivation, a legal indicator of death in many jurisdictions. The biomonitoring suit double-checks if there is a need for the second round, which is extremely unlikely, as the result is guaranteed by seven-fold repetition.
Interested in seeing what this G-LOC deal actually looks like? Take a look at this compilation of pilots going through their G-force training.
Though this might look scary, most people describe feeling euphoric afterward. Maybe this coaster would really be the most humane way to go...

The first official trailer for Ant-Man is here. The movie hits the big screen on July 17th as part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe's Phase Two. The movie stars Paul Rudd who plays Hank Pym, a thief who can use secret technology to shrink down to ant size. Corey Stoll also costars as the film's villain, Darren Cross, also known as Yellowjacket.
The trailer originally premiered during Marvel's Agent Carter, but you can view it below.
I originally thought the movie sounded ridiculous, but the trailer doesn't look half-bad. I'm also a huge Paul Rudd fan and am kind of excited to see what type of humor he will bring to the movie.
What do you think of the trailer? Will Paul Rudd play a good superhero? Leave a comment and let us know your thoughts.
Ant-Man will be released in theaters July 17, 2015.

2015 began on a rather interesting note when Neill Blomkamp, District 9 and Elysium director, added more than a handful of gorgeous pictures to his Instagram and Twitter accounts. The pictures seemed to be concept art for a secret Alien sequel, which Blomkamp was allegedly working on without any studio's knowledge or approval.
The images depict Ellen Ripley (Sigourney Weaver) and Corporal Dwayne Hicks (Michael Biehn) working together again, a look at the mysterious Weyland Corporation, innovative takes on the infamous Xenomorph, the Alien Queen, and more.
Though it is not completely clear if the project, referred to as Alien Xeno, was indeed intended to be developed as a film, Blomkamp is a confirmed fan of the Alien franchise. Back in 2013, he told Comingsoon.net:
"My favorite film of all time is Aliens. Period. James Cameron’s Aliens. What Elysium doesn’t have that I’d like to put into the next film is slime and eggs. It’s missing slime and eggs."

Being a huge movie fan, one of my favorite things to see is when someone takes something from film and amps it up to the next level. It's rare to find a gem amongst a sea of bad YouTube videos with ear-grating music set to choppy, disjointed clips from random anime that I'm not the least bit impressed with—but thankfully, this is not the case.
This mashup by The Sleepy Skunk of different movie trailers from 2014 was sent in to Fanboys Anonymous and it was definitely worth the watch. Similar to how GenRocks made her yearly filmography videos, this takes the three primary overall themes from films—action, romance, and comedy—and blends them together in a nice, compact little package that is very well done.
Go ahead and check it out:
What do you think of Sleepy Skunk's mashup? What were some of your favorite movie trailers from this year?
Sound off and tell us your thoughts in the comments below!
Yes, yes. This year's Annabelle was not a masterpiece, but who cares! The Conjuring 2: The Enfield Poltergeist, set to be released on June 10, 2016, seems to have all the right elements to be as awesome (if not even better) as its 2013 predecessor, which made a whopping $318 million worldwide.
Farmiga and Wilson as the Warrens.
For starters, both the original director, James Wan, and writers, Chad and Carey Hayes, are returning for the sequel, which will focus on another case in Ed and Lorraine Warren's long list of real-life paranormal investigations. Patrick Wilson and Vera Farmiga will reprise their roles as the two investigators.
Although the official plot of the script has not been announced yet, here is a short account of the true bone-chilling story that inspired the movie: the Enfield Poltergeist.
It all started on the evening of August 30, 1977, at a council house in Enfield, North London, England. Single mom Peggy Hodgson was trying to put her four children—Margaret, age 13; Janet, 11; Johnny, 10; Billy, 7—to bed when Janet complained about her brother's bed shaking. Peggy did not pay much attention to it, but on the following night Peggy experienced something she could not ignore.
The Hodgson Family.
After hearing a crashing sound coming from Janet's room, the single mother rushed in only to find a chest of drawers moving by itself. Suddenly, the chest was propelled toward the door by an invisible force. Scared, Peggy and her children ran to her neighbors' house.
Not knowing what to do, the frightened neighbors called the police. The attending female police constable, Carolyn Heeps, was not able to do much at the scene, since no one was breaking the law. However, she did see "a large armchair moved, unassisted, 4 ft across the floor."
Next, press. Daily Mirror photographer Graham Morris was contacted. He was able to capture some of the supernatural phenomena on camera, but things seemed to be getting worse.
After BBC visited the house to try to record some of the phenomena, the family finally sought help from the Society for Psychical Research (SPR), which sent investigators Maurice Grosse and Guy Lyon Playfair, a poltergeist expert who subsequently wrote This House Is Haunted, to investigate.
Grosse, when interviewed by Will Storr, recorded the chaos in the house:
As soon as I got there, I realised that the case was real because the family was in a bad state. Everybody was in chaos. [At first] nothing happened for a while, then I experienced Lego pieces [and marbles] flying across the room; The extraordinary thing was, when you picked them up, they were hot.
" I thought I was going to die," Janet Hodgson.
Although many people experienced objects flying, furniture moving, and heard knocking coming from inside the walls, most of the activity seemed to be centered around 11-year-old Janet. The girl would go into violent trances and became certain she was possessed by a ghost named Bill Wilkins.
According to the paranormal investigators' reports, Janet would levitate and speak in an eerie, raspy voice when she was allegedly possessed by Wilkins. In one instance, a invisible force seemed to control a curtain, which tried to strangle her.
To this day, Janet stands by her story: "[The poltergeist] lived off me, off my energy. Call me mad if you like. Those events did happen. The poltergeist was with me and I feel that in a sense he always will be."
For a more on this true ghost story, check out the documentary below, where most (if not all) audio recordings of Janet's trances can be heard.
Cynics believe it was all a big hoax, but no one can deny the Enfield Poltergeist is one fascinating ghost story. It will make an awesome story for the Conjuring 2.
Do you believe it was real? Are you going to watch The Conjuring sequel? Leave your comments below!
