Sony Releases Update Fix for Broken PS3 Systems

Posted by Unknown Thursday, June 27, 2013
Last week, Sony released firmware update 4.45 for the PS3. Unfortunately, the firmware bricked the majority of newer PS3 consoles, trapping people on the menus screen.

Well, this week, the company has released a newer update which will hopefully rectify any issues with your console.

If you're trapped on the "ribbon" screen, you're going to need a USB stick with at least 168mb free space so you can download the new 4.46 firmware using your PC using the instructions provided here.

Those who heeded our advice and held off on updating their PS3 last week, you can go ahead and download 4.46 now.

Remember folks, leave a comment if there are any other issues with your consoles so that we can give the Sony brass a piece of our mind and stay tuned to more Sony and tech stories from Fanboys Anonymous.
